It was kind of funny to see ramen on the menu of a place like this. It was sufficient and filling. They do not offer chopsticks what with the fact this is not actual ramen place and just a pub/restaurant. My friends felt good with their menu decisions and this is probably a really good spot for meat eaters. Their website indicates this might be Detroit style pizza which I've never had before, never have seen it either. But it had good reviews and I knew other local places with gf pizza aren't much good. Again, I've never had it before so I don't know if Detroit style pizza always has so little cheese, but the center of this pizza was all sauce, almost like how tomato pie looks. I had gotten a simple pepperoni pizza. It was rectangle and thick, similar to deep dish but different. While thick, it was lighter, very airy. I've had that texture once in Vegas and loved this almost as much, definitely prefer it to Chicago style deep dish. But the real star, was the flavor. Even the pieces that didn't have any cheese on it were sooooo good! Whatever they do to their crust and their sauce, I hope they never stop! We ordered the hush puppies, which were fair. I am picky about my hush puppies. Hush puppies are better in the southern states. I had the bread pudding French toast, and it was the most delicious French toast that I had ever tasted. My husband agreed with me. My husband had pork tacos. They had an outstanding favor, and were seasoned exceptionally. My future daughter-in-law had a biscuit sandwich with some fries. I tried the fries. The fries needed some extra salt. My son had an excellent-looking pizza, which was to die for. When we go back here, I am going to order French toast again, and perhaps a pizza to take home. We stopped in for a Saturday lunch before strolling around Manayunk to see some of the ice art. This place was highly recommended & I couldn't wait to eat here. The Goat's Beard did not disappoint. The interior of the restaurant was warm, cozy, and cute which really added to the experience as they categorize their menu as comfort foods. We started with the fried calamari, TGB nuggets, and cheesesteak egg rolls. The calamari was good but a bit burnt on the top and quite chewy. There was much depth in flavor, but it was not awful. The tables favorite was TGB nuggets! They were so flavorful, so delicious, and perfectly cooked. The cheesesteak egg rolls were also fantastic. My partner ordered the seared salmon which was absolutely amazing. It was perfectly done, perfectly paired. I ordered the burger, which was good, except my plate was cold upon arrival to my table. The fries that accompanied the burger were okay, but didn't seem like they had been seasoned despite being "herb" fries. The service & staff was extremely nice, attentive, and efficient. We made reservations and were seated inside by the bar, which worked out as we were able to watch the Phillies game that was on. Our server was very friendly and attentive to us throughout our meal.
