Tito's and pineapple
Megan V.

I was visiting Philadelphia and wanted to find a spot close to my hotel for dinner and a drink. After searching Yelp, I made the 2 mile walk (not all pedestrian friendly) to The Rook. Don't worry, there is street parking if you don't want to walk. The exterior gives you historical, cozy vibes, which carries into the interior. It's a bit on the smaller side, but has a good mix of bar and tabletop seating. It looks like they may also have patio seating when the weather is nice. I was there during their happy hour, which was 3-6pm and included 20% off of food and a few different drink specials (obviously this is subject to change). I ordered a Tito's and pineapple, which wasn't a part of happy hour, but was still reasonably priced. I wasn't crazy hungry, so I opted for a side of fries and a Caesar salad. To my surprise, they have huge portions there, so I ended up taking my salad to go. The fries were crisp and definitely worth the price! The Caesar was perfectly dressed and had a strong garlic flavor, which I personally appreciate. Again, definitely priced well, especially during happy hour. As my meal went on, many regular patrons came and went, so this definitely seems to be a neighborhood favorite.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with a party of 3 and sat in the open area in the back. Nice breeze came through and there was sports playing on the TVs. Service was great and super nice waitress was helpful along the whole way. My boy blue burger was very tasty. The bacon jam was different than what I've had previously at other restaurants but I still loved it. Got more in the side to go with the crispy shoestring fries. My girlfriend's chicken sandwich was a hefty sandwich. Thick pieces of chicken that was fried perfectly. Bacon on the side for me is a bonus. Drinks were great and my girlfriend said little heavy 10/10

Really nice spot in the area with food that is pretty consistent. I'm not a huge fan of their fries but aside from that I really enjoy their sandwich's. Really nice seating areas and the service is always quick and servers are nice.

Hope you like surprises, cuz you'll find plenty in this loud Yo Bro neighborhood bar. There are no prices on any of the beverage menus. Surprise! The Umbria sandwich looked really good, good enough to camouflage the rubbery chewy chicken cradled in its stale toasted roll. Surprise! My check did not give the 20% off food for the HH pricing. Surprise! When I brought the error to my bartender's attention he said he would simply refund me the difference in cash. Then gave me $2.00 back when it should have been $3.00. New Math. Surprise! My Philly United by Wissahickon Brewing Company was a tasty local lager with an imported price of $8. Surprise! A one & done. Surprise!

Great food and atmosphere. Great place to catch a game and enjoy. Parking is a little sparse but other than that it's a great bar.

The food and drinks were good. The staff was quick and attentive. It was crowded but we didn't wait long for a table.

Some went inside and ordered a drink. Some had table service. Both were efficient. The server and the bartenders were all nice even after a long day! The espresso martinis were very good! There's a good selection of beer and cocktails. A limited food menu was available for the bike race. We ordered chips with guac and salsa, loaded tots and fried pickles. All were yummy and served piping hot!

My partner, dog, and I stopped by for late lunch after a walk at the Wiss. We chose this spot…read morebecause its dog friendly. Atmosphere is friendly and we enjoyed the outdoor space however, food and service were on the disappointing side. We ordered two wraps, fries, onion rings, and a side salad. The wraps were extremely underwhelming. Tortilla was dry and the salad/chicken in the wrap was undersauced. The side salad that came with one of the wraps was old. I could tell because the cucumber slices were DRY. How can a vegetable that's 95% water be dry lmao this is a salad that was made yesterday. Anyway on the plus side, the chicken in the wraps were well seasoned and juicy. Best thing we ordered was the onion rings. They were very crispy and deep fried. Also came with a delicious horseradish cream sauce. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return here. Other than the mostly lackluster food, service was also slow. And a couple small things were missed like incorrect salad dressing and a side of sauce that wasn't given. I had higher expectations and sadly this place fell short

First time visit a couple of weeks ago for Friday happy hour. We checked out the inside to decide…read moreif we wanted to sit in there or outside - typically local bar/pub feel with high tops and long bar seating, tvs around the bar area, etc. Because the weather was ok, we decided to sit outside at the wooden tables. We're helped immediately and given the run down on the happy hour specials, which is the reason we came there. Long Island were one of the drinks so we both got that in a strawberry flavor for the first round, a long with some tequila shots. Long Islands were STRONG and mixed very well for the strawberry round we had - we eventually ordered a second round of regular Long Islands that were also made well. Food wise, we initially ordered Mozzarella Sticks, Mac & Cheese Bites and Buffalo Shrimp. Least favorite was the Mac and Cheese Bites - thinking if there was a different sauce pairing then what it came with (tasted like honey mustard) if would've probably been better. Our favorite was the Buffalo Shrimp - it tasted so good! Saucy but not too much, good taste to the sauce - I don't think every buffalo sauce tastes the same - nice crunch to it, good size like jumbo shrimp and good portion on the app. We liked them so much we ordered another basket of them lol. The Mozzarella Sticks were also really good - crispy, tasty and also good portion for an appetizer. Liked the place that's a good happy hour and game watch place. Plan to check them out again.

Unsanitary. Drinks have tons of simple and no flavor. On the cheaper side of the price…read moredistribution, but overall not fun.
