    Chicken provolone on a hoagie

The beer was so cold and frosted mine. Best ever lots of choices. We ordered a Shalin style cheesecake and a chicken spinach. Provolone on a hoagie. The bread was to die for none better. The fries that came with crispy on the outside shopped in the middle The perfect fries dill pickles on the side my God perfect. My cheesesteak tasted lots of meat, Vitamin cheese, and the best bakes poppyseed crossbones you could ask for. The two ladies that helped Service were the sweetest ever. I can't think of anything bad to say except for the drunken golfers in the back they're having a great time.

The Henry James Saloon might not be on any of your regular routes while exploring Manayunk-Roxborough. On the corner of Henry and Jamestown, this little spot has grown quite a bit from my first visit. From a fully renovated bar area to the brand new back yard / outdoor seating, I would recommend finding a way to fit in a visit. Food wise, they have a decent selection of better than average bar food. You can get burgers and sandwiches and several veggie friendly options as well. I love the Hank Jim and the Cordon Blue Burger is pretty amazing too. As for drinks, it is a bar that has you covered. They have a good selection on draft and a few bottles to pick from as well. I haven't tried any mixed drinks or cocktails, but I'm confident the bartenders can handle it. No complains on service. They are a friendly crew and willing to joke around with customers. And the overall appearance of the place is great - especially with all the renovations!

Great spot for a drink and a snack after golf. Friendly staff and a menagerie of locals to entertain and converse with.

The wings were really good. Great staff that moved quickly, but were friendly and provided good customer service with a packed house.

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

I'm not sure how accountable this review will be, as I did take out not stayed. They were having happy hour but it didn't count for me as I was take out I guess. I got the mozzarella sticks were bomb with the sauce and I got the creamy Mac and cheese. I was excited for the Mac and cheese because I had one last night that was amazing from somewhere else. I got back to my hotel my second but I found a hair. Like a fatty I threw it to the side and kept eating it anyways. Unlike a true fatty, I didn't finish it. So unholy for a Mac and cheese lover like myself... but it was too acidic for me. I couldn't keep eating it. So I'm basing this review solely on the food. The service seemed ok? They seemed nice, but can't judge that as I did take out.

This way it was easy for our group to talk. I saw someone else drinking a drink that looked really good so I just ordered that without looking at the menu. It was in a champagne glass and had an orange peel in it. This drink was delish and I would order it again. I ordered the caesar w salmon. The salad itself was fine but the dressing didn't taste at all like caesar dressing. I still ate the whole thing - but just didn't love the dressing. Reviewers rated Moriarty's short ribs highly, and though I hesitated to order risotto take out, I want for it. Sorry, no pics but trust ne when I say it was delish! The portions were great (there were a few spears of asparagus) and the lukewarm risotto (expected considering it was delivered) was creamy and flavorful. There was a but more oil than I would have liked floating at the bottom, and the sauce was a bit salty, but not so much that I couldn't enjoy the super tender morsels of beef. I look forward to trying something else on the menu soon.
