We walked into Ryan's Pub and grabbed a couple of barstools with no trouble. The bartenders were great and kept us entertained with stories while we relaxed. Turns out the owner is the brother of Meredith from The Office, which gave us a good laugh. I had the smoked Gouda burger and it was delicious with a soft roll and plenty of flavor. My fiancée had the chicken sandwich with a different sauce and it was super crispy with a big piece of chicken. Drinks were strong and the vibe was laid-back. read more

"Is there a doctor in the room?" First thought i had as i was eating their bbq pork sandwich. This sandwich is the worse thing I've had at a restaurant. I was literally choking and coughing with no aid in sight by the staff. I quenched my thirst with the water they luckily provided. It was basically eating a desert in sandwich form. Dry wall has more moisture than their kaiser roll. I would've gave a better rating but no one asked how the food or I was doing mid "choking" experience. Was amazed today that after a monumental win by Colorado today both bartenders refused to turn off the music by journey to hear Dion and his sons celebrate this victory. This pub honestly took me and my friends by surprise. We had such low expectations and came out on the other side, completely satisfied and pleased. There's indoor and outside seating. Masks are still required for everyone. Staff is very friendly and attentive and the energy is very chill. The Smoked Gouda Burger was amazing. My friends and I all had burgers and were really content with the taste and presentation. Burgers must definitely be their specialty because when we looked around, we noticed that everyone was pretty much ordering burgers. Overall, solid pub. Go in there expecting just that and simply enjoy the young chill vibes. It is a college area after all. read more

It has been long enough that I nearly forgot the name of the bar previously sited at this location. And while I was fond of Flat Rock Saloon, Ryan's Pub is appears to be more than an adequate substitute! A few of us arrived at Ryan's just after their happy hour ended (7 PM on Friday). However, we were hungry and more interested in dinner. We each ordered an entree and drink while sharing nachos. The drink list, both tap and bottle, is pretty extensive and reminiscent of Flat Rock. The nachos were pilled very high which made us all very happy. The ingredients included some very fresh tomato, plenty of beef, and a mix of cheese wiz. I ordered and enjoyed their french dip. Rather than have a side of au jus, they provided a side of horseradish sauce and ensured the sandwich was served 'wet'. It came with a few pickle slices and chips. While I won't say it was the best french dip I've had, it didn't disappoint and left me full. Just an importantly, when the bill came none of us were shocked nor did we feel the prices not equal to the meal value we received. Otherwise, it is worth noting Ryan's is a cleaned up Flat Rock. I wouldn't have called Flat Rock a dive by any means, but it is clear Ryan's took the time to clean up and make the place their own. I'm looking forward to returning here again, hopefully this time early enough for happy hour! read more

This is a drinking bar that happens to have pretty decent fare. Me and my buddies go here all the time and will continue to go all the time. Food isn't gonna knock your socks off but you'll leave satisfied. Bartenders are absolute rock stars and incredibly personable. If you go here Thursday-Saturday after 10 PM it turns into a college bar which isn't my favorite thing in the world. Glad to have found a new addition to the Main Street stroll of restaurant offerings. I enjoy a good pub and this one was average. The atmosphere and design of the place made you feel you were in the suburbs were everyone gathers for the Sunday Game. There are about 3 Large Screen TV's for your viewing pleasure. The staff were friendly and offered recommendations and favorites on the menu. There are happy hour specials, so definitely ask about them. The draft selection was average, but they need to increase the variety on the available bottles that are offered (i.e. sours, stouts and imperials). Food was good. I got a veggie burger which was black bean and quinoa, it had good flavor. The fries with a side of cheese sauce was delicious. The fries were thin cut and crispy with the correct amount of salt. My fiancé got a regular burger which he really liked and was cooked perfectly. We also split a white pizza which was tasty. They have a good selection of beers and drinks. It was pretty crowded on a Friday night for dinner but we were able to sit upstairs with no wait. You just had to show proof of vaccination. The service was good. A little slower since we were upstairs and everyone else was downstairs. But overall nothing to complain about. The upstairs was a little dirty. My chair was sticky I had to switch it out. Not the cleanest looking place but if you can look past that the food is decent. read more

Looking for a happy hour spot last minute, we passed by Ryan's and figured we would stop in and see what they had to offer. The place wasn't too busy when we arrived and we were told to seat ourselves. We opted to sit by the front window where they had it open to the street. It was a nice place to sit and watch the people walk by. The waitress then came over quickly and told us that the happy hour specials were $1 off drinks and specials on certain food items. I ordered a Victory Sour Monkey as it's one of my favorites but the beer list they had was impressive. They had something for everyone and a wide variety. As for food, we opted to order a couple of the happy hour specials and split them amongst us. We had the poutine, wings, chicken strips, and cheesesteak egg rolls. The cheesesteak egg rolls were delicious. I wish that we got more of them because wow. The poutine was also yummy, the fries were thinly cut which I thought was a nice change from other poutine I've had. The gravy definitely made the dish though because it was so flavorful. The wings were pretty basic wings and I didn't try the chicken strips so I can't comment on those. But, I was pleased with the food choices we got as a whole! Overall, Ryan's Pub was a good choice on our part and I would definitely go there for happy hour again or just to go out on a Friday night. read more

Been coming to Ryan's for a few years now. One of the main reasons we come is for the bartenders and the managers. We've never left here disappointed. The food is amazing (shout out to the chef/cooks.) We mainly come because of Ron the day time bartender. There are multiple bars on Main Street but, he's amazing and always attentive. We always have drinks in our hands. The night time staff is absolutely amazing as well. They have fun and make sure customers are always having fun as well! Make sure you come to see Sid, KO, and Jay!! If there is one place in manayunk I have to recommend for you to go for an amazing time and good food it's this place! Literally the worst service I have ever experienced in Manayunk. Good food but overall the waiters need more training.

Had a horrible experience with girlfriends who were out celebrating a bachelorette party. 2 men entered the bar and began harassing my 2 friends getting married, being extremely vulgar and homophobic in our direction (granted, this is not the staffs fault). The night progressed and the men continued to heckle my friends, eventually non consensually grabbing one of the brides. Management was informed about this and in fact did nothing to remove the men from the bar, and actually asked our group to move to "separate" the two groups, as if it was our fault for getting harassed. Unfair and embarrassing treatment, extremely disappointing for a local neighborhood spot that I have been to frequently in the past. Unfortunately not an uncommon experience, but the way it was handled was beyond disappointing. In the women's bathroom, a few women told us that they also were made uncomfortable by these same men. We ended the night upset by the treatment and experience, rather than celebrating an exciting occasion which is all we were looking to do in the first place. Will not be returning, don't recommend going there unless you are prepared for this kind of behavior to be tolerated. read more

My hubby and I stopped in one night on a whim one night wanting to try something new. I was impressed.. it had your typical bar feel but with a very friendly atmosphere. The bar and seats are very clean and I love all the old wood. Reminds me of a that great corner hang out soon you always want near by. The staff were very freeing and helpful. If you need anything they are very willing to find out and accommodate you. The food, especially the burgers were incredible. I was highly impressed and I am officially obsessed with their steak fries. It's a must when you order. Overall I will definitely be returning and can't wait for another beer and a burger from Ryan's pub. read more

I really like Ryan's pub! The atmosphere is relaxed, it's clean and there are plenty of TV's to watch games. It's a solid spot on main street. The food is always good- solid bar food! I've never been for an actual meal just for drinks and apps but was looking at the order the couple next to us had and it looked delicious! They also have an upstairs which is great for private parties (went to an engagement party there). Good spot! read more

Spotted this place while a few friends and I were walking down Main Street and decided to give it a try as their happy hour specials looked decent and they had a nice open table right by the open window. We walked in and were immediately engulfed by the typical Irish pub look. The bartender saw us and told us we can sit anywhere we like. The bar was busy but it didn't look like there were a lot of people at tables. Soon after sitting down a waiter came by and dropped off the beer list and showed us the deals for happy hour (4-7pm, dollar off all drinks, $7 select appetizers). We decided on beers, I got the Victory Sour Monkey as it is one of my favorites and also chose four of the $7 apps to share between three of us. The selection of beer is extensive and you will definitely be able to find something that suits you. We got the wings with traditional buffalo sauce, poutine, cheesesteak egg rolls, and chicken tenders. The wings were good and I don't have any complaints, they gave enough ranch to make sure you don't run out, as well as a couple of sticks of celery and carrots as per wing-etiquette requires. The poutine was a very good size and the gravy was plentiful, my only complaint is that all the cheese was melted in a big blob in the middle of the fries so a lot of the time we were just eating fries with gravy. The cheesesteak egg rolls were probably my favorite, delicious and cooked perfectly! Lastly were the chicken tenders. Not much to say besides they were 4 decently sized chicken tenders served with honey mustard. Overall, I will definitely be back with more friends to try out more of the food because the burgers looked really good! My only complaint was that the service was a bit slow and I wasn't sure why as the place was relatively empty. I would also love to try this place out on a Friday or Saturday night as well. read more

Ryan's pub is overall very good, however they recently switched their Wednesday night trivia company. The new trivia company is not as good as the old company and struggles to host good trivia night. The host changed questions after he read them and botched the music round. I expect to be frustrated with the trivia questions asked, not the way the host is asking them. read more

The place wasn't busy which is to be expected on a workday. People filtered in within the hour though. The service was great. What a horrible experience! Unless you are going to the bar for a quick drink, don't patronize this place. Honestly the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. Our server was Emma and it felt like she was bothered by everything. It literally took an hour and a half from sitting to leaving to get two soups, fries, a salad and 10 wings (that we didn't even get until we were literally getting ready to walk out the door). Emma literally sat at the table behind us and ate and doodled while we needed stuff and ignored us. We had to ask 3 times to check in for a Caesar salad and 10 wings while the other table behind us sat down after us, ordered apps and sandwiches and got them before we even got our salad. Even asking Emma to check again for the third time for the wings, she felt bothered and walked away again to not even come back with an update or check the kitchen. We finally got fed up and stopped her as she walked past and asked for the check and she said "What, you don't want the wings now?" and walked away to get the check. Finally getting the check minus wings I gave her my credit card and she walked away and back and forth taking orders before I finally had to ask for my card back so I could leave. Literally as she went to get my card, our wings came out to our table. I laughed and told the runner to take the wings away because we were leaving. Plus the men's room was a mess and I saw at least two guests stumbling about the bar drunk and kept getting served. I was so happy to leave that place and also do yourself a favor, don't go there and go to another place on Main St. read more

Unfortunately, this was debating the worst dining experience I've ever had. We were seated upstairs next to what appeared to be some sort of frat party (at 2:30pm). They were VERY loud and eventually ended up tackling each other... Our sever made the venture up twice in 45 minutes, and we had drinks but still no food. I walked around until I found her and the bartender, and got moved downstairs. The TV behind us then started smoking and let out a terrible smell. Even after all this we didn't get any sort of a discount, which is strange because I've worked in a few restaurants and this would have never happened. Needless to say, we don't be back. read more

No happy hour specials, no food specials and a selection of very low quality wine. Food was fine, we only ordered the chicken fingers but you could tell that they were frozen from a bag. Regular pub grub on the menu. I hope that they management team take this constructively.
