Let me set expectations, Peck's is a local 'dive' bar. If you come looking for high end food, fancy cocktails, or other elements completely unnatural to a dive bar, you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a spot to grab a drink, chat with friends, and maybe watch a game, Peck's ftw! We do not usually start at Peck's. Nor do I consider myself a regular at Peck's. Still, every occasion we visited, we had an awesome time. It is cash only, but dirt cheap. $20 will take you far. Service provided by two amazing bartenders who won't let you sit empty handed (if you don't want to that is) for long. Side note, the digital jukebox is a fun distraction and the mini-bowling alley game can help vent frustrations. Enjoy! read more

Peck Miller's has great drinks, games and the bartenders are friendly. If you stop in during a weekday you'll probably find Rose fixing a drink and keeping the patrons entertained with amusing stories. There's also a jukebox full of great music and several TV's. I can't speak on the cleanliness of the mens room but I can say for sure that the ladies room is always clean. All in all it's a fun place to go. read more

It's been a while since I dropped a review for a classic dive bar, so I may as well drop one for a dive that I never thought I'd set foot in! Peck Miller's is one of those neighborhood dives that you hear plenty of stories about before you ever sit foot in. And for better or worse it became was of those curious destinations that I was hesitant to set foot in. But sometimes your friends manage to lineup a Philly music revue that features the likes of Kenn Kweder playing in an unlikely venue. And that's when you come to discover it being better than expected. For drinks, Peck is your run-of-the-mill dive bar. You won't find a craft beer past Yuengling or Guinness, but you can grab a 40 oz to freedom. all the liquor comes at a decent price and hot dogs are very much on the menu. With all the musicians and entertainers performing inside there wasn't much room to get a regular glimpse of what things were within the bar. But I did make note of random bar games and eclectic decor strewn about. Going without live music adds up to a good cheap time with friends and locals. But there are also more random music events in the works. read more

When your neighborhood is flooded. Your country is dealing with a pandemic and politics are often settled by screaming at the top of your lungs There's nothing better than walking into a neighborhood tavern. Peck Miller's is the oasis of sanity in a crazy world. If you come in during a Phillies or Eagles game drafts are $2. The beer is cold the music is beautifully done at just the right volume and the people who are here are a nice group to hang out with and enjoy a Friday evening. We forget how we were locked away for over a year. A place like this had to struggle just to survive. We owe it to them to come by and patronize the establishment. They are easily accessible by accepting bus routes 9, 27, 32 and 35. Spend some time in this establishment and your troubles will fade away. Enjoy! read more

The first ironic star amount I've ever given. Really I do think this place deserves 5 stars...why you ask? Because it has cold beer, friendly people and good service. Okay you can harp on some of the negatives like the unappealing exterior, lack of beverage selection and the potential that it can be filled with undesirables, but this is my local dive bar, no more than 2 blocks from my house so I'm obligated to love it...and that's the end of that. read more

Wow, just like Jafar said in Aladdin "A diamond in the rough" So the beer and decor: The beer does not taste like the sludgewater that builds up in abandoned tires on the side of the highway, btw, more like the insufferable rustic Americana music that's been trending the past 2.5+ years. The color of the interior is most similar to urine after a diet of beets and about six or seven punches square to the kidney. My kind of place. Do not look Chuck directly in the eyes. For the two years that I lived in Manayunk, I must have driven by this place a hundred times. You can't miss this place driving to the top of Green Lane... Okay, so why is that important? Well, for 2 years I NEVER saw anyone walk into our out of this place. I always thought it might have been some kind of meeting place for shady business transactions. But if that was the case, why would it be in plain view of a major intersection? Something made me wonder about this place... After two years I finally walked in. Now, I consider myself a pretty big fan of dive bars - they offer a quiet place to meet a friend for drinks and often have cheap beer on draft. This place fits that mold... but is not the kind of place a 20-something would want to hang out. You've seen this scene before: someone (obviously lost) walks into a locals only type bar and everyone stops to watch the outsider walk in. The radio dies, the bartender forgets the beer is still pouring, and the old man in the corner drops his beer. read more

The beers? FREEZING! Gotta say some of the coldest beers in the city. No windows so be careful or you will get lost in the sauce. Bartender was a delightful lady. Loses two stars bc most people at the bar seemed to have the sniffles. read more

A shit hole dive bar and yet strangely I am such a huge fan. Cold dark & cheap.

This is a weird review for me to write. First of all, even though it's 2 stars, I actually believe that it's a good 2-star review, not a bad one. Secondly, many people may disagree with it, but I can only present it the way I see it and rely on the other reviews to balance me out if I am wrong. Peck Miller's is like three bars (at least) in one space-- which one you are going to depends on perspective and time of day. If you are a neighborhood local, under 40 and you go there, odds are you *either* use some hardcore drugs or you're in the trades and unxpectedly not working that day. If you are not a local and are under 40, you go there because it's a cool bar with nice people, a random jukebox and cheap beers, but you are probably only there after work/ at night. If you are *over* 40, it's just a neighborhood bar where no one really bothers each other and you can have a good time. The bar is much larger on the inside than it appears from the outside. I will not mark it as "good for dancing," but there have been plenty of nights where people moved all the tables and got down. The daytime crowd is mostly day laborers and tradesman who are either temporarily laid off or not working that day due to the weather. This means that if you want to drink at 7 am, you'll have company. This also means that most of them are not too interested in loud foolishness. The crowds after work and at night are also different. They have a great softball team and a competitive dart league that usually provides some great entertainment in more ways than you'd think (this year's champions actually got in a fight with each other after they won. and i mean a break the tables fight amongst same-team members). There are many nights where I walk by and hear the music blasting and lots of laughter and would like to stop in... BUT, as a not-many-years-after-born and raised neighborhood local I fear the judgment of those who who would recognize me leaving and rarely go in. I have several older friends who hang out there and they love it, and occasionally I am forced inside. It's not like I am famous or popular, but Roxborough/Manayunk is tiny and incestuous and it really is about the gossip that would fire up if the wrong people saw me leaving. I have to admit that I actually like Peck's and I've always had fun when dragged there. In this one respect, I actually do envy all the newcomers to the neighborhood (which is really anyone who didn't grow up and go to school here) who can venture in and enjoy their time with impunity ;) read more

Peck Miller's Bar has been a landmark institution along Roxborough's Ridge Ave. corridor for eons. it is the definitive "hole-in-the-wall' drinking establishment in the area. I popped in here for a few cold ones the other day. My drink of choice is Sam Adams (or "Sammies" as I like to call them). I had a really hard day at work and was just looking for a place where I could imbibe for a bit. I have always struggled with my work-life balance. I used to work as an actuary first helping to calculate risk valuation modules for Canadian parking garage operators before moving on to risk management for DEB stores, one of the most exciting chains in women's fashion retailing. But the long hours led me to grow apart from my now ex-wife Cynthia and our twin sons Bradley and Bryan (aka B'n'B). I had a great creative writing professor at Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey who really encouraged me to "go for it." I finally did, as I now write and edit for Risk Management Magazine, the leading trade publication in the risk management industry. I don't feel as much pressure anymore. I feel like the "me" I never knew before. But work can still be hard. Having to write 1,500 words about the latest in actuarial modelling can be tough. Thankfully, Peck's was right there to help me out. And it was also great because the patrons there were such a wonderful sounding board, with each one giving their own valuable advice as to handle questions related to work-life balance with their wide array of skills and impressive employment backgrounds. I would recommend Peck Miller's to anyone in the Roxborough-Manayunk area looking to have a cold American domestic beer to kick back from a long day at work and just talk about life with human beings who have are near the top of their chosen fields who also feel the need to unwind. read more

5 stars? Why not 6 stars. I started off my night thinking I was going to the soup kitchen. Boy was I wrong. I walked into peck miller's bar and lounge. I first was greeted with a beautiful smile that resembles a post apocalyptic picket fence. After getting g over the smell of urine and bo, I moved to order a beer from a clean glass (have to be specific) by clean that meant wiped with a dirty tissue. Food menu you ask? A menu for papa Johns I should say. The rest of the night was a blurry mess thanks to the roof that was put in my beer. I woke up in the alley the next day full of smiles and crabs. Sitting next to a slowly-churning hot dog machine, listening to Beyonce, getting glances from a man in a camouflage hat, I couldn't help but to order a second Budweiser. I am also struck by the fact that there seems to be a super-specific clientele for this place, and how I may not be of that ilk. Since I have been coming here for a long time because my father lives above the bar (not the most pleasant), I have to say, the people you can get to know are very nice, they may seem like derelicts, prostitutes or such in the beginning, but they actually are very nice people, as far as people go...on the downside, be prepared for lots of noise and absolutely absurd curse words from time to time. From knowing this bar's owner, he is very nice and any negative things about him, whether something he did, said or acted on are certainly NOT true. I've been in and out of this place for the last four years, not one thing went down (as in physical fights) in this bar. My father has some really great friends from this place that would go to the end of the world and out of their way for him. Their personal affairs have never really concerned me, but some people are simply messed up, not to say, there aren't very nice people there with messed up personal lives who I really got to know. **BE CAREFUL of whom you trust**. That is a big point in this review because don't bring your kids there if you don't know the regulars, if you DO bring your kids, watch them carefully. Hope I was helpful. read more
