Ye Olde Ale House in Lafayette Hill is one of those rare, amazing places you just don't find anymore. Since 1962, they've been doing things the right way--starting with the iconic roast beef carving station right in the middle of the room (exactly where it should be). It's old-school in the best possible way. The staff is fantastic--Maria and the whole team make you feel like you've been coming here for years. The crowd is friendly, local, and welcoming, which adds to that true neighborhood-pub vibe. The food is top-tier, with great options across the board. Whether you're stopping in for a classic roast beef sandwich, wings, sandwiches, or any of their comfort-food staples, you're going to leave happy. It's also one of the best spots around to catch an Eagles, Phillies, or Penn State game. The energy is great, the drinks are cold, and the atmosphere is exactly what a hometown bar should be. You won't be disappointed. Please don't change--places like this are hard to find!

Provolone cheese is what I missed on the review - there's the cheese on the sandwich - #micDROP- every time we've came extremely amazing service - thanks again

Great time! My boyfriend and I went for a quick bit together eat. It was a fun place which a ton of locals talking with the staff. The place also had a roast cutting station in the middle of the bar which was cool it see! Our sandwich's were amazing! You could tell it was real meat cooked perfectly. We got extra gravy which made the sandwich even more flavorful! We will be back!

A good bar with great food. This is such an easy place to always go. Prices are great and the beer selection is pretty decent. Obviously the roast beef is top notch but don't sleep on the pizza.

Beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll- onion rings (minus a few I already ate lol) and the butter you can see from the fried mushrooms we had!

Service was great. Food was hot and tasty. We went from recommendations on the sandwiches!

Had a breaded chicken sandwich here, and the chicken was rubber and inedible. Absolutely terrible.

The best dive around. The roast beef sandwiches are amazing and the servers and atmosphere is all about the home town bar.

Pretty much the worst BLT I've ever had. Soggy cold bacon when I had asked for crispy. Basic bread. No fun at all

Worth the visit whether you are local or just passing through Conshee. My group of seven decided to try Bar Sera for a Saturday night dinner and we were not disappointed. Known for their Detroit style pizza, it was immediately a good sign when we arrived and saw a steady line of people ordering pies to go. The staff had us seated relatively quickly and took our orders promptly, setting a great tone for the night. To really experience the menu, we skipped the family style prix fixe and built our own spread of small plates and pizzas to share. That decision paid off. The arancini bites were a hit, and the calamari stood out for its unique preparation. Gochujang honey calamari was a first for all of us and it absolutely worked. The pizza is where Sera truly shines. We were blown away by the Elm Street, a deceptively simple pie with tomato sauce, Wisconsin brick cheese and pesto that delivered big flavor. The Ash Street went in the opposite direction with complexity and boldness, featuring BBQ pulled pork, jalapeño pesto, cilantro, scallions and brick cheese. Having been to Detroit and sampled true Detroit style pizza, this felt like a genuine and well executed homage. The cocktail program deserves just as much praise. Drinks like the Nightmare on Elm Street with brown butter washed bourbon, brandy, lemon, apple sage honey, almond bitters, cranberry bitters and egg white, and the Lone Ranger with fig reposado, black pepper, Grand Marnier, lemon, brown sugar and Turkish tobacco bitters wowed the table with unique and bold flavors. Overall, Bar Sera is a fantastic neighborhood spot that punches well above its weight. Great food, inventive drinks and a lively atmosphere make it well worth a visit when you are in Conshee.

But then when I was looking up their burger week menu I came across the valentines menu and it looked good, so I figured I would give it try. My husband's dinner was alot better than mine so I was eating some of his, even though we always share anyway. He got the oysters with a dragonfruit sauce and they were good. I ordered crab and corn soup with grilled focaccia bread. The soup itself was fine , but it was only half a bowl and not much crab in it. I would have liked more soup instead of the bread. I gave the bread to my husband because we got a good amount of bread for the appetizer and I didn't want to fill up too much. I probably should have ordered the calamari instead , that looked pretty good. My husband's scallops with risotto was very good. Seared perfectly, creamy risotto, good flavor. Normally that is what I like to order, but I got the crab pasta because I love crab. I was disappointed In this dish. The crab tasted a little too fishy like it went bad or something. I also got a number of shells in the crab I had to spit out. I feel like they could have mixed the crab with some kind of seasoning or flavors. It seemed like they just dumped the crab right out of the can into the pasta and didn't even clean the shells out first. And they didn't even put the pasta in any kind of sauce. I would have liked maybe a creamy sauce with it. The pasta was just in like a watery garlic broth, and it broke apart and crab went all in the water and I didn't even have a spoon to pick it up. Dessert was ok. I'm glad we got the dragonfruit cheesecake instead of the chocolate cake, it was refreshing . The tiramisu wasn't bad but it was still somewhat frozen. I was kind of surprised because we are fans of the Pieri group restaurants. We have been to their sister restaurant Stonerose for burger week for a number of years now and love it. We also came to burger week at bar sera the one year and really enjoyed theirs too. I wish they did them separate weeks so we could go to both . Maybe it was just an off night tonite. Sometimes valentines menus aren't as good as their regular menu. Maybe we learned our lesson to go out the week before valentines instead for next year.

We decided to try Salt & Stone recently since it was a new spot and this place did not disappoint. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by none other than the owners. Zara & Dimitri (not great with names but I think that's what they said) were very welcoming and patient as I inquired about all the work they've done with the interior. It looks a lot nicer inside than the previous restaurant. Now the important part. The food. Absolutely incredible. I am still disappointed I didn't try this place earlier. We started with the goat cheese lollipops (amazing), Mezze, and calimari (high quality). After the first bite, I knew we were in for a great dinner. For the main course, I ordered the Rigatoni & my wife ordered the pork chop. Both were top notch. I love a good old fashioned and I enjoy other people's takes on this. Theirs was something different with a pistachio rim. It did not disappoint. These folks know what they're doing and I'm still thinking about that meal over a week later.
