New to the area and first time visiting.. Really enjoyed breakfast there. Nice little quint spot. The servers were nice and the food was good. Nothing spectacular but jus cool

Brekkie, sub the gluten free toast option.

I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. The current reviews do not do it justice. I had been out running errands, close to my house, when I realized that I needed to find someplace amazing for food! I found this gem on Yelp, and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant is absolutely full of locals who the staff knows and they know the staff. A sweet couple next to me told me to come try "German night" sometime (reservation needed). Excellent service this morning from Fiona and Ivy. I have my service dog with me, they didn't give me any flack, even tho my service dog need is not visible at first glance. I ordered the eggs, bacon, and potato brekkie. Normally their potatoes are deep fried yet I asked if they had a potato option for me that was grilled instead. They happily accommodated my request. I had the gluten free toast, which was this delicious croissant type brekkie bread. This was my first trip here, and definitely not my last. I think I've found a new local favorite!!!

Chicken and biscuit gravy etc..soooo good.

Some mor breakfast my family had after picking up at airport our first stop! Hash browns are super and not just the cooked frozen ones 95% of restaurants buy either: I often take half of them home for next morning to have with eggs.

Herb forward on the chicken fried steak and gravy which isn't bad but is different. I received great service and the place had the small town hole in the wall feel which I like.

Cozy cafe in Fircrest which has been serving up quality meals for several years.Three of us were well pleased with our choices for breakfast.Servers were efficient and the coffee mugs never got empty.Large portions can be a struggle but half portions are available for a few dollars less. Not a big place....two and three tops.Counter space.TV's are rarely on and WiFi doesn't exist.Hey!Have a conversation.Good food, breakfast or lunch.

Best. Chicken. Fried. Steak. In. Town. Years ago I found a random small cafe after a drunken night in town and had what I would later declare to be the best chicken fried steak ever. It took me years to find the cafe again, and I came back dreading for my declaration to be proven wrong now that I wasn't plagued by hungover cravings. I am proud to declare that they still have the best chicken fried steak after all these years. Seriously, if you love chicken fried steak do yourself a favor and try this one.

Love this gem!! First time to Tacoma and we were looking for small businesses in the community. I selected this place based on other tellers reviews and of course wanted a try to fresh sauces. This place did not disappoint!! I ordered the blueberry waffle with eggs and toast. My hubby had the breakfast burrito with a short stack and my brother had the breakfast combo. I asked if they had offered any freshly baked pastries. She said the cook "makes this apple and peach cobbler- using the freshest ingredients. In fact he makes all our sauces homemade. He also makes this very delicious peanut butter pie. Very tempting but we went for the peach cobbler. She brought out the cobbler -added whipped cream with a bit of the peach cobbler as well. Oooohhhh mmmyyyy!! So delicious!!! Hard to describe you have to stop in and try it. All our dishes came out and each one of them was off the chart! Waffle was so fluffy and full of berries. My hubby burrito didn't stay on the plate too long. This was a great find and the service was above and beyond. My brother has marked it as "a must come back" place!!

I asked for 1/2 coffee & half cocoa and was served this adorable start to my day.

Decor is dated, food presentation and taste are average or below. Hard to find because no sign from the street.

I used to visit the Sacramento location, so it was a nice surprise seeing one nearby. My review is mainly for the desserts since I still haven't tried the coffee yet (though I'm sure it's probably great too since they're known for their Yemeni coffee). The menu seems very similar to the Sacramento location, but I'm giving 4 stars because they don't carry the one dessert I've been seriously craving: Turkish delight! The Sacramento location has it and I was definitely hoping to grab some here but I didn't see any on display or on the menu :( The milk cakes were thankfully just as good and super consistent between locations. We ordered the pistachio milk cake and the caramel milk cake (different pricing, depending on flavor probably). Both were incredibly moist, flavorful, and just really delicious. If you've never tried the milk cakes here, I definitely recommend them. They taste high quality, for sure, and a perfect treat for a sweet tooth. I had my husband try one for the first time since he likes caramel, and he immediately said it tasted so fancy he felt like he should be sticking his pinky out while eating it lol. I told him it *is* around $10 a slice, after all. We stopped by on a weekday afternoon and the parking lot was busy and the café itself was packed, so it definitely seems like a popular spot. They also have a points rewards program you can sign up for with just your phone number. I'll definitely be back for sweets again.

Didn't get a smile or an acknowledgment of us much at all. My attempts at chitchat were rebuffed with literally zero response. This is a small local business within. 5 min from my house in a generally more warehouse type district with little coffee shops but I won't be returning here! I ordered a mango smoothie and a Red Bull cream spritzer with mango and strawberry. The mango smoothie tastes "funny" I can't put my finger on it but something is off with it. I heard her mention she was using soft serve to make it. I'm assuming she's talking about frozen yogurt, but something just doesn't taste as good as I normally get anywhere else. I also noticed they use really shitty store brands whipped cream and i guess a lot of coffee places I do that but I think a lot more of them are making their own whip cream at this point in coffee etiquette evolution! Ok so the WORST part was the Red Bull cream spritzer, which is normally my go to FAVE drink! At this point it had been prob 10 min since we arrived and the main barista did mention they were training today, but she seemed almost as unsure as the girl who she was training. They kept looking up the drinks in the binder instructing them. I've been a barista before so it's not like I don't have empathy. When you make a Red Bull spritzer that has cream in it, the order you add the ingredients is important or you end up with a curdled drink. Immediately after she handed me my drink I could tell. She had added the cream on top of my drink and it was already curdling when I stirred it it bloomed. I pointed this out to them and she said they would "try " to fix it. I mentioned I knew there was a certain order to do to avoid this but I couldn't recollect it. I was with my little boy so I joined him in the upstairs loft seating for another 6 min they re made my drink I heard the main one say "ok add the cream first." I looked up on my phone how to avoid this curdling with the Red Bull And cream and found: https://www.thegunnysack.com/redbull-drinks/#h-can-i-combine-these-ingredients-in-any-order It basically says that The order is ice, RedBull, half and half, then flavor. If you pour the half and half directly on top of the ice cubes, it will coat them and freeze, giving the drink an unappealing texture. If you add flavor to the RedBull before you add cream, it will also not combine properly. Needless to say the second drink which wasn't even all the way full to the top, also curdled. I wish I could take my tip back but maybe I can save you a headache and $15.

I'd even go as far to say that it's the best boba spot in the Tacoma area. They have smoothie, slushies, tea, milk tea, and etc. The drinks are quite filling, so I usually have no room for food! (Cost): $8.27 + tip (Location): The shop itself is on the smaller end, with a few tables inside for seating. It's located in a very busy shopping area-- a little bit down the street from Tacoma Mall. It gets insanely busy during the weekend, so plan your trip accordingly. The good thing is that there is a lot of parking. (Service): I have been here quite a bit and the employees have always been pleasant to interact with. I literally cannot recall a time where I had a bad experience, and the drink was made in less than 5 minutes. I don't know if it's ran by the same people, but I went to a Bobalust near Tukwila that also had excellent service. (Food): Summer Saas (5/5)-- a fruit tea drink with peach pieces in it. I also added in some black boba. I usually stick to the Orange Dreamsicle, but I decided to try something new and I am so glad that I did. This drink was amazing-- not too sweet but also not too tart. I will definitely order it again. Orange Dreamsicle (5/5)-- a smoothie type drink made with vanilla and orange. Also has fruity jelly pieces at the bottom. An excellent drink that reminds me of those old school orange cream soda floats made with ice cream.

My girlfriend surprised me by bringing me here for my birthday after I'd been wanting to try it for a long time, which made the visit extra special. I will say -- and Haley, I know you read your reviews -- the girl who rang us up was a little snippy, which was a bit disappointing, especially on my birthday. Everything was rung up correctly, but the interaction itself wasn't the warmest. Food-wise though? So good!! I ordered the Fig Papa, which wasn't my first choice, but I was told they couldn't cook the eggs the way I wanted on the dish I originally wanted (which felt a little strange). That steered me toward this as a second choice, and honestly, I'm glad it did -- it was delicious, and I really loved it. I do still wish I could've tried my original pick the way I wanted it, but it is what it is. My girlfriend got the weekly rotating menu item -- a Mediterranean biscuit -- and she really enjoyed it. I didn't try it, but it was a huge portion. And let me just say: the biscuits here are unreal. Biscuits are usually a forgettable side for me -- dry, boring, whatever -- but not these. These are hands down the best biscuits I've ever had in my life, and I've been craving them ever since we left. They also had a seasonal pumpkin horchata, which I absolutely loved. It tasted like pumpkin pie in drink form -- creamy, cozy, and exactly what I wanted. For dessert, I got the cranberry bliss cheesecake, and my girlfriend got the Thin Mint cheesecake. Both were fantastic. Cheesecake can be heavy, so the fact that I basically had multiple dessert off this one piece of cake made me so happy. Despite a small service hiccup, the food, creativity, and overall experience were great. I can't wait to come back and try more items -- especially those biscuits again.
