We got to the location, and I was concerned about the costs, because I work in a related field and I know how they try to squeeze the maximum dollar out of patients and insurance companies. I was surprised when I was told they could not talk about any prices or give me any insight of what it may cost. The reason they gave for this was EMTALA. Not knowing what EMTALA was, I questioned the lady at the front desk about what she was referring to, and she said in a nutshell that her mouth was sealed and that we couldn't leave if we couldn't or wouldn't pay. I was dumbfounded. If this didn't sound like a scam already, I asked about our insurance and was informed that we would be responsible for 20% of the cost, whatever that may be when the Wizard of Oz wills it into existence. OK I said, and we went through the visit and jumped through the hoops, when all I really wanted was the doctor to write a prescription for what we already knew was going on. When all was said and done, we came out to the front desk and was presented our bill for roughly $800 dollars, to which we only had to pay about $150 or so due to our insurance. OK, not too bad, way overpriced, but it didn't break the bank. Sit down and take a breath, here comes the good part. Fast forward, one month in advance. I receive 2 bills, no, not 1... 2. One is from the actual hospital for $1,400. The other is from MCEP (Medical Center Emergency Physicians) for $350. I guess over the past month, St. Luke has been diligently working at the milking process. Bravo. Somehow, things twisted from when I signed the $800 bill and told my insurance would pay, to when I received a $1,750 bill when they didn't. I will contact my lawyer today and look into this EMTALA. I hope $1,750 was worth the price of a lawsuit.

I was sent by my primary care physician after hours and the doc on call did not want to do the procedure she called ahead for me on. He gave every excuse as to why I shouldn't- seems like if someone is sent by their doctor- you do the procedure. They went for a dang reason. It's been a week and I am still sick. Covid seems to have brought the worst out of people and this guy is definitely 1. New management doesn't seem to have made a difference. He was smiling when I left. He was either lazy or evil. After completing the initial paperwork, Bill took us back to an exam room. We discussed my issue and the proceeded to have my blood pressure and temperature taken. Bill walked me through the process with expertise and kindness. It was determined I needed a cat scan so Cathy took over and walked me through the process with ease and whimsy. We were there for awhile because I needed several tests to try to figure out what was causing my pain but that's to be expected and was not an issue. Meghan checked me out without pressure or a judging look like I have previously experienced at other places. I actually felt good about paying! This was probably the most enjoyable ER visit, despite my pain issue, I have ever had. Thank you Cathy, Bill and Meghan! Y'all are awesome!

My husband initially went in on Monday at 9:30 AM experiencing intense pain early in the morning. There were no lines when I arrived, the office was clean, and the staff were polite and professional. During the visit, they drew labs and gave me a referral to have an ultrasound done (which I was able to get done that day at 1pm). I was told that they would call me with the results once everything was reviewed. Wednesday, the clinic contacted us with the lab results, but they had no update regarding the imaging. I then called the imaging center myself and was informed that the ultrasound images had already been sent to the clinic Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday, I went to the imaging center in person to pick up a copy of the results and the CD containing the images. I called the same day (Th) and was told the NP should have the results reviewed by Friday. When I followed up today(Friday), I was told that it may not be reviewed until Monday. While I'm grateful my husband's pain has mostly subsided and is feeling almost back to normal, the delay in reviewing the imaging results feels unnecessary and frustrating. Especially considering the imaging center had already sent the results several days ago. Overall, my initial visit was positive in terms of the cleanliness of the office and the friendliness of the staff and cost of the visit. After calling they are more annoyed and don't seem to care that patients are left with no answers. The delay in communicating diagnostic results and providing follow-up information has been disappointing and has left me waiting longer than expected for answers. This is my second time going here for labs and imaging (first time with my son) and I didn't experience this type of delay so hopefully this isn't what usually happens.

We rolled in via ambulance and they had all needed staff waiting on our arrival because his condition was critical and every second mattered. Everyone took great care of him. The ER doctor explained everything and next steps and within about 30 minutes of arrival to the ED we were being rolled to the OR for emergency surgery. They took care of the bleeding and got me back to him in recovery very quickly and he was doing so much better. We were transferred to the PEDS unit for continued observation and his nurse Emily was amazing. Hermann has saved our son's life twice now (the first time 7 years ago) and they will always be my first choice for any of my family's care. I was able to be fully present for our son because I never once doubted the care he was receiving. That is a gift in itself when your child is in critical condition. I don't leave reviews, but my heart is so grateful for every person involved in our son's care and I really want parents to know there is another option for high quality pediatric care besides TCH.

From her initial consultation to pre-op, the day of surgery, and even her post-op visits, she consistently felt cared for, safe, and fully informed. She was understandably nervous going into surgery, but the entire team took their time answering every question and making sure she was comfortable every step of the way. What stood out most to her was the professionalism and genuine bedside manner of everyone involved. It wasn't just about the procedure--it was about how they made her feel throughout the entire process. That kind of care is rare, and it made all the difference. It's been a few weeks since her surgery (mid-March), and she is still talking about how wonderful her experience was. That says everything. Huge kudos to Dr. Saucedo and his team for delivering not just excellent medical care, but an experience that truly put my mother at ease.

Nurses Adrine, Juan, Heather, and Ian were consistently attentive, compassionate, and professional. They took time to understand the patient, anticipated needs, and made us feel comfortable asking for help at any time. We are also deeply grateful for the excellent care provided by PCAs Melissa, Cheyenne, and Yasmin, as well as Cassidy, the mobility specialist. Their patience, kindness, and dedication made a meaningful difference in my experience. While many staff demonstrated outstanding care, we also experienced serious issues that raised concerns about patient rights and safety, including effective communication, dignity, respectful treatment, pain management, and care in a safe environment. After requesting a different hospitalist, our interaction with Leyla Mehdinasab was distressing. Her approach was aggressive and dismissive, with repeated interruptions and refusal to allow us to voice concerns or change providers. This interaction escalated despite the presence of a patient liaison and the director of nursing. Additionally, during a reaction to morphine, the night nurse, Rina, did not respond promptly when assistance was requested, resulting in a dangerous delay while my oxygen levels dropped. She also administered a nausea medication that had already been proven ineffective, despite being informed that a different medication had worked, causing a return of severe nausea and vomiting. It is clear that Methodist has many excellent, compassionate professionals. However, these experiences highlight the need for accountability and re-education to ensure patient safety, respect, and quality care. We would like to know what steps will be taken to address these concerns and prevent similar situations in the future, and we expect personal apologies from both individuals involved for the lack of appropriate care and professionalism. We tried again and again to speak to the above mentioned individuals, as my daughter was only seeking an apology for the blatant disregard for their own patient bill of rights and to know how these situations would be prevented in the future, but emails have only been met with complete denial of what happened. Apparently the only concern with what happened was the "internal investigation" which didn't take into consideration my daughter's account and the medical ramifications of the reaction to the medicine as well as the lack of response from her nurse at the time. Our family will avoid this hospital at all costs and will warn others.
