After Trading my Car into Spreen, They left my Plates on and employee drove the tool roads of Orange county over 25 times racking up violations. I contacted them and they told me to straighten this out with the tool companies. When I demanded them to remove my plates, they told me they owned the plates as they were part of the car. I went from Acura to Ford and returned to Spreen Acura for their customer service. I always brag about their service but I can't this time. 1. Car has had the same ongoing issue and still can't be resolved - Apple Car Play won't connect. I was told to buy a new iPhone and I did and issue still not resolved. That was an expensive fix on my end for it not to work and resolve the issue. Still not fixed! 2. I've been on a loaner/courtesy car list for over 3 -5 months meanwhile my warranty etc. has time passing and now I'm worried it's not going to be covered - sold a lemon?? Today I walked in as usual expecting to stay while my car was serviced for B service (oil change) and was rudely asked if I had an appointment to which I replied I did not (I've never needed one on weekends since 2008) now I have to call around 12:30 to see if they can fit me in... just for an oil change??? 4. My car has a recall and I still can't get a courtesy car... but yet they had another recall on different vehicle model this is why I was told I couldn't get a loaner/courtesy car for the past 3-5 months So disappointed as I used to tell Frits Ford across the way that they needed to get customer service tips from Spreen Acura and now I feel bad! This review is specifically targeted to the service department. Let's start with Angel. He is literally a heaven angel when it comes to service. He has gone above and beyond anytime myself or my boyfriend have taken the car into get serviced. When I bought my Acura two years ago, I went into the service department because I was having trouble with my steering wheel. The guy who initially was helping me was very short with me and basically dismissing my issues. Angel could see that I was not happy with his service and said..... you know what it's okay I'll go ahead and take care of you. And for the last year that's what he has done. And then there is Garrett! He is beyond exceptional as well. Last month my electrical system malfunctioned in my car and he told me not to worry and had a loaner car for me within the hour. He is always friendly and goes above and beyond as well. These two are absolute perfection when it comes to customer service. Let's talk about the people who don't get recognition..... The people who actually fix the cars. When my steering wheel problem happened a couple of years ago, a technician by the name of Justin happen to be by the service department. I explained to him what was going on with the car and he said you don't even need to drop it off, I know exactly what it is. He ordered the part and had it fixed within the week. That made me feel so good especially since I had already taken it to the Anaheim Acura service department, left it there for two days, and they didn't even fix it properly. Annoying. My battery died on the way home to Vegas and my local dealership said it was still under the warranty so I could get it replaced at any dealership. After calling one closer to my location - Metro Acura, and getting run arounds, getting hung up on, we gave these guys a try, and boy oh boy, how much I don't regret it! Garret set us up and told us to come in so Hector could take care of us. Between those two guys and Brendon, the service was impeccable! Took my wife's car in for service and looked into leasing an electric ZDX while I was waiting. They had a great special for $1999 down and $219 a month. My salesman was James and he assured me there were no catches but the price didn't include tax and license and miles were for 7,500 mi. Per year. He said the special ended after that day (ad did say that) so I brought my wife back that afternoon and decided to lease it. They only had black or red with a blue one due in any day and he said he would do the deal with the blue one as well. We asked if it would be cheaper to buy more miles or just pay at the end of the lease so after 3 hrs of him going back and forth with his finance guy with proposals like 12k down $450 a month and 15k miles yearly (30,000 for the 2 yrs) he finally came back with his final offer of 6k down and $586 a month which would include the 15,000 miles per yr. That comes to $20,064 cost for 2 yrs. I asked him why would I pay that when I could pay the 1999 down, 4001 for tax & license (the $6,000 he quoted me total) $219 per month and pay the 20 cents per mile over which would be $3,000 (.20 x 15,000=$3,000) for a total of $14,256 for the 2 years. That's $5,808 less. He got mad that I called him out and said FINE! We will do the advertised deal but something happened to the blue one so we aren't getting it now so we would have to take the black or red one (even though he promised he would do it for the blue one). The way they were trying to manipulate the numbers to make more money and ignoring us repeatedly to just give us the advertised price was belittling and frustrating. Again, the salesman was James (don't know his last name) and even though 4 yrs ago we had a good experience buying my wife's RDX this experience left us angry and we will NEVER buy from Spreen Acura again. read more

We had the opportunity to shop around at a few Acura dealerships in the Inland Empire Region. The primary dealerships we looked at were Spreen Acura (closest to our location), Metro Acura and Weir Canyon (furthest from our home) As any shopper would like to do, we did look around for pricing options available. The unfortunate part with Spreen is that they would go above and beyond with promises (ex: we will get you the car you want, we will beat/match the price that other dealerships were given), however they never disclosed concrete numbers on the phone. Most knowledgeable shoppers in this day and age would shop around for a car price. My request was always simple: Acura MDX 2024, A-Spec package, blue exterior if possible, otherwise red and I am looking for a 36 month lease with drive off price only with a limit of 10k miles per year. They just flat out refused to give me a price over the phone. It just felt like I would have gone with them due to the convenience of the location, however when their manager said "we have been trying to work with your or 6 months and I'm eager to earn your business", I got the sense that not only were they trying to mount a pressure driven sales tactic, it genuinely felt like they were doing me the favor by selling me a car. Given that my wife and I do shift work, we weren't going to be able to make it in over their weekend timeline at which point they tried offering $1000 if I could make it in. Either way, for some people the method of sales delivery may work, but why not shop around over the phone for a reasonable price and go with your best option. A shopper should never be made to feel that way. Weir Canyon Acura got my sale. I'm sure Spreen will go on and survive, I'll go on and continue to drive my car. I do urge shoppers to call Spreen ahead of time and ask for a direct price quote rather than play the game of wasting time going into the dealership. Don't waste your time here... I went on Truecar shopping for a 2022 MDX and found this dealership, called in to get more information and a 'clear' picture of the window sticker. What I encountered while asking for this information was purely chaotic. It started as a simple request and ended in a huge argument with Chris and Ryan both who couldn't get the job done. The Sales guys argued with me over the phone on why they could not provide the window sticker and I should go off the Truecar PDF instead. They ended up sending me a blurry photo of the window sticker. If you are looking for an Acura go else where, especially if you are remote. These guys will lie to you and deflect your concerns. I ended up buying an Acura that same day at another dealership that took care of me and my family on what we needed. We did not end up doing business here but after visits to many many dealerships over a period of weeks it was nice to have a pleasant interaction. We were not swarmed in the parking lot like at most dealerships but were greeted right away when we went inside. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering water and assistance in finding the right vehicle for us. The only improvement I would say is that sometimes the salesman came off very scripted.. they are trained to give specific responses when a customer is unsure of moving forward with a purchase and our salesman was definitely well rehearsed in that training. Not a bad thing, he was still very polite, but it made the conversation seem less personal and more scripted. read more

I recently bought a 2010 Honda CR-V from them and the experience bought me so much relief during what can be an incredibly stressful process. After abruptly losing my car in early November I found the car I bought through pure luck on CarGurus. There were no photos yet since Spreen Acura had just recently put the car on their sites. I worked with Christopher and he was quick to send me exterior and interior photos of the car once I scheduled a test drive. He made this process smooth and simple and he answered all of my questions. One of the best parts was the consistent updates he provided regarding the car since they were replacing the tires (per my request, no charge) and brakes (no charge!). Christopher even took the time to detail the car beyond what the service department had done and he made it smell and look like a brand new car! This person very clearly cares about the people he works with and ensures to the best of his ability that they have a good experience when buying a car. Got an alternator replacement and B1 service (oil change) on April 18th 2020. Took an Acura 2012 TL into the dealership for oil change and the battery light (Check Charging System) check. Got to the shop around 11:07 AM. Request the oil change and check on battery light. (Diagnostic will cost $175, labor is at $175 an hour, but will be put toward the repair cost if repair is needed) Around 12:50 PM, the adviser came back with the diagnostic that the alternator was bad and need a replacement. So I agreed to replace the alternator. At 1:05 PM, the mechanic started working on the alternator. At 1:35 PM, the mechanic was done and took the old alternator back to parts department. So it only took the mechanic around 30 minutes to change the alternator. He then drove the car around the service area a bit, probably to test the alternator and then took it to the wash. At 1:53 PM final invoice was printed and I was called into the booth to pay. Oil change - $109.95 ($86.23 was for labor - about 30 minutes) Alternator - $1033.49 ($507.50 was for labor - 2.9 Hour at $175 per hour) I am not sure how car dealership or car repair shop charge for labor but I would think that it by the time they started working on the car and finished with it for a particular repair. But Spreen Acura's service adviser said that it was charged by book time so it doesn't matter how long or short a repair was, you are charged a specific hour for a specific job. But charging $1015 per hour of actual labor is a bit much. Hope this helps. Updates: I was able to talk with the Service Director, Kiel, and he was able to remove 1.5 hours of labor off so I was refunded $262.50. So I added two more stars for them reaching out and making the labor a bit fairer. read more

We liked the price listed, we reached out to the dealership, everything was confirmed so we set out for the drive (90-mile round trip). When we got there, everything seemed to be going great, however, when we got to the papers, they decided to add an additional $5,000 markup I understand this market for new/used cars is hot but this type of sales behavior is unprofessional and deeply frowned upon. Our time was wasted, they clearly do not value you as a customer. We made the effort to drive 90+ miles to make a purchase THAT day and their greed didn't allow us to. My Moms 2020 acura RDX is having problems. Static popping in speakers and problems with blue tooth holding and making calls. I found out online its a problem with this model car. So much there was a lawsuit that they lost and they also extended the warranty coverage to 6 yr 74000 miles. The catch is this dealership just to diagnose charges $249 which can go towards repairs. They could say its something else even though its pretty easy to figure out this is the problem. You would think they wouldn't price gouge in this situation. Their sale representatives was nice and promised me that they would honor the truecar price. However, they decided to remove the dealership discount and added 5000 markup at the last minute to think that the customer will buy the car after driving 30-40 miles to make the deal. I get it the car dealership want to get extra money during this time. If you can break the promise that easy, then how can we trust your services on any occasion. This past weekend, I took my SUV to get an oil change at Spreen Acura in Riverside. I strongly feel like Acura Service Department intentionally messed up my SUV so it can break down on me. Before heading down from Hesperia, I I was told by a person over the phone that they were really busy but I would still be seen if I headed down for service. When I arrived, Garet Cuuningham, told me "No" while rudely trying to turn me away. I asked to speak to a manager and asked for cooperates phone number because of the way I was being talked to the service representative. Garet then directed to talk to Bobby who was the service Manager. I explained to the manager how I had spoke to someone over the phone and how I just drove from Hesperia. Bobby gave me corporates so-called number, then did the oil change on my SUV right away. When it came time to pay, the Bobby told me. Don't worry about it, its on them." Bobby also brought up how I was going to have to replace the water pump and timing belt soon because of a small leak. Its only been a few days and the sensors came on, and my SUV is now--- MISFIRING. If i could I would leave 0 stars. Had the absolute worst experience ever trying to purchase an acura here. From the second James walked out to "help" us his demeanor was completely off. The entire time my family and I were checking out the acura I wanted he stood there, hands in his pocket, making sarcastic comments and being absolutely demeaning. He spoke to us like we knew absolutely nothing and as if we were less than him. When we were trying to talk to him about the price of the acura he laughed and said we couldn't afford what we wanted and didn't discuss the acura further. Instead he began showing us Kia's and older acura models which was nothing close to what we wanted. He told us "this is what's in your budget." My entire family was in disbelief of how he was treating us. This was his attitude the entirety of our time there. We were all extremely patient with him and we left feeling very angry and disappointed with his service. To top this off, his manager came out to defend the way James treated us. He claimed he never heard anything disrespectful or demeaning....i'm still wondering how he heard the way James spoke to us outside of the dealership, on the test drive, and in his cubicle....all the way from his closed office?
