Came across this place while looking for a transformer for my electrican. I was going to order from their website, thinking they were out of state, but when I saw that they were in Long Beach I decided to stop by. Carlos was great to work with. He and I had to go back and forth a few times using just the photo of a transformer that my electrician needed but in a different model/type (but my electrican swears it's the same thing! Yeah right, so it's sort of the same but not really?!) However, Carlos was super patient and when I walked him through the specs of what I needed Carlos was able to locate it and called me back once he did (like he promised) and a couple days later he called to say the products were in and I swung by to pick them up! Super fast and friendly service. And my electrican gave me a thumbs up on getting him what he needed when he needed it! Thanks for coming through for me Carlos! You're the best! Pricing was fair, parking was easy. The place was a bit hard to find though because the front office is closed (I don't think they operate it) so you have to go through the warehouse door and the only reason why I knew that was because I saw other people pulling in and walking straight to the warehouse door (it's the big steel garage door like door that rolls up). It would have been helpful if they had a bigger sign that points you towards the "Entrance?" But then again they probably deal mainly with people in the trade and not so much the general public. First time going to store looking for a bulb and the very nice gentleman gave a recommendation at a discount due to the necessary replacement of a different bulb that went out unexpectedly. It was a big bulb. huge and heavy that my electrical helper said worked. It is expected to light the alley which is a very good thing. The last time I viewed the alley it was cleaner than normal. Maybe the bright light is keeping some of the trash dumping transients away. Dunno. Will watch and see. But yes, try out this store. It's right before the bridge in a real quiet street. Easy parking. False advertising, Poor Service. Website and Google search shows the item we ordered is $18.90. We ordered 16 and received an email confirming the order. Two days later Jack says the price was incorrect on the site and he "made a mistake". We were told the actual price is $25.51. Jack ignored our calls and then refused to honor the advised price. I ordered (online) two common bulbs from this firm. They had good pricing and are literally 30 miles away from my home. Although they quickly emailed a receipt, I received no information for 2 weeks. No shipment info, no tracking numbers, not even a notice saying it had been shipped. I sent 2 emails during the next week with no response. The third week - with still no word - I called and managed to reach someone on the phone. That person promised to call me back when they found out what was wrong. Another week passed without a response. Still no shipments, no calls, no messages and no emails. I had to file a complaint with Paypal to get my money back. Since ordering, I found other reviews with similar comments - wish I had seen them before ordering. Life is too short to put up with unnecessary hassles. read more

AKA "The Lighting-Spot.com" of same address. Took a little Google-ing to figure that out. They charged my CC for product that was evidently on long back-order and never told me that was the case. Their web site touts having product in stock and no waiting. Said they needed to charge up front in case the customer's CC was bad and they didn't want to get stuck with B/O stock. Really? Requested cancellation after 10 days but no refund or order update for two weeks after that. Finally had to request a charge-back through my CC issuer. Been buying here for a few years now and these folks always have the best pricing and stock-on-hand that I've encountered! Jack has been attentive to our price requests and orders. No one has everything in stock, so when I read reviews that complain about that I can only think that some folks don't have experience with distribution, esp. of lighting products. It's a chain of events that can take time to determine when a shipment will be fulfilled, so customer service can appear poor, when the fact is that the manufacturer may not be communicating to the supplier. This is an email from this business. We were told we were too small of a customer to deal with. My Email: See below, the ballast was received Wednesday. But, the new one should have shipped as soon as the backorder was released as I offered to pay for the new ballast until you had the old one tested. We are very disappointed in the level of service and your lack of responses to emails that you have read (notice I request a read receipt and one is sent to me each time you read your email) and there have been three emails you have not responded to. Please ship this out immediately as my guys are in the dark. We placed an order for a specialty bulb. I kept checking the status of our order because I never received anything but a receipt for payment. I called and was told that the manufacturer won't ship for about 2 weeks. We ordered this bulb for a customers job and couldn't wait any longer so I cancelled the order. Now 2 weeks later and numerous emails and phone calls, we still don't have our refund. This bulb is over $200.00. This is the most unprofessional company that I have ever experienced. I have not been to the physical store so this review applies to the order I placed on their "Lighting-Spot.com" website. I had placed an order for ballasts earlier this month. The order was submitted and I received an email saying the order was confirmed. As soon as the order went through, I sent them an email regarding tax-exemption and got a timely response from Jack McComas asking for me to send him the form and that he would take care of it. All of that happened within a day. However, I never received my refund for the amount I paid for tax and he did not respond to my follow up emails. Secondly, the website did not state that the products were not in stock so I assumed that they were in stock and it would ship right away. There was no notification about the items being backordered or even when they would ship. The ballasts did arrive, two weeks after the order has been placed. It appears that communication from this company is lacking and they only care about taking your money. As soon as they do so, they are done with you. I placed an order and they delivered. They (barely) did their job and that was it. Don't expect much from them. Edit: I just checked my credit card statement and a refund for the tax amount has been posted a week after I emailed. read more

This company is a SCAM. Placed an order online for LED bulbs that were never delivered. Weeks after I placed the order I still had not received the bulbs. I contacted them and were told they were coming straight from the manufacturer. A few more weeks went by and called back and was told the same thing so I asked for a tracking number. They gave me a tracking number that showed the delivery going to Ohio and my address is in Alabama. After calling back they said they would refund my money and after two months and 5 call backs they have still refused to refund my money or send me the bulbs. I finally got them to transfer me to a "manager" who asked for the names of people I had previously talked to with their company and I told him they would not give me a name. He said he could not help me then. I then asked him for his name and if he could send me a confirmation email that they would refund my money and he refused to do either and hung up on me. read more

We bought 10 bulbs from this company 6 months ago, and the ALL bulbs are already failing. These bulbs have a 5 year warranty, but when we called to get replacements we had to jump through a bunch of hoops and still cannot get them replaced. They said they would send us shipping labels and we could send them back for a refund and we had to call several times to even get the shipping labels emailed to us. Every time we called we would sit on hold for 10 minutes and the people were less than helpful and didn't even seem knowledgeable about the products or warranties. We will not be using this company again and would not recommend anyone else to use them either. read more

I'll never use this company again! They charged my card the day I placed an order which was 6 days ago and my product was to be shipped that day so I would have it by the 9th of January. I didn't receive it and when I called and talked to Brian he said the product didn't ship. Well I guess it's a good thing I called because if I hadn't it probably would have never shipped since Brian acted like he didn't know why it didn't ship. In my opinion you never checked my order to make sure it shipped Brian!! It's called a tracking number! This is NOT good customer service.
