This review will be based on two Depts - Used Car Sales and Service. Used Car Sales - 1 Star They are all nice and friendly until they take your money. Granted the car was used but if you have it inspected it should be ready to take off the lot. They tried to send me home in a car with a faulty side air bag! Hence I had to wait 3 more days to get it. Next thing is the key did not open the door or trunk! neither did the spare key. I called about it, yes I was a bit frustrarted, but was rudely told by the used car manager that it was not his problem and was done talking to me, then hung up on me. Beware of the Used Car Sales, very unprofessional and dones't give a crap about customer service! I called the GM and made a complaint and told me to come by and they would fix the issues at the service dept. He apologized for the poor inspection and wanted to make things right. Service - 3 Stars due to hiccups with previous inspection Jeannie at Service Dept was on point! I explained to her what all the issues were and her crew fixed everything! It took another 3 days but at least this time everything that was promised to be fixed was done! She even called me multiple times to let me know how things were going with the car. Keys were recut and I can acutally use the spare valet key for emergencies! The GM and Jeannie by far are truly professionals. read more

As a first time car buyer I would definitely recommend Sport Honda. My salesman Louis was great, he took his time to asses my needs and showed me numerous cars to test drive, mind you it was freezing and I know it wasn't fun going back and forth pulling cars out. I think what won me over at this dealership is that when I walked in I didn't get the usual pushy car salesman experience you find at most dealerships, everyone seemed genuine. The manager Andrew worked with me to fit my budget and was very straight forward and Louis made suggestions on ways for me to save money and addressed all my concerns. On 5/21/18 I purchased a certified Honda CRV. It was a good experience as it was low pressure and an easy negotiation. I was out of the dealership in about an hour. I paid for the car that afternoon. As part of the purchase Sport Honda agreed to include 2 new tires and perform a coolant flush and refill. I arranged to pick up the car on 5/24/18. When I arrived at the dealership on 5/24/18, the car was ready and I was given the keys and registration. However, everything went south when I asked for the receipt for the above service work. This was the first time I ever had service work done at a dealership where they were not able to produce a detailed receipt of the exact work completed. I was shuffled from the sales person the the sales manager who told me that it was impossible to give me a receipt and that it didn't matter since I really didn't pay for the work anyway since it was "part of the deal"! I said the the work was done after I bought and paid for the car and that I wanted the receipt for my records especially since tires come with a warranty where you have to prove when you bought them - which I do not have. I could see that the tires were new, but have no confirmation from the dealership that the other work was ever performed. It is disappointing that after researching the dealership and getting the impression that they are very customer focused and a family owned dealership for decades who take pride in doing the right thing. I did not think that simply requesting a receipt for service work completed was asking them to stray from their customer focus or doing the right thing but apparently it was - very disappointing! read more

I recently stopped by and talked to TJ Troutman and Mike Canter about an end of year sale, and it it weren't for my previous ownership experience with another brand, I would have definitely made my purchase through Sport Honda. TJ and Mike were great and answered every single question I had at the time. I even stopped by on a Sunday when neither of them were there and I was given the keys to the specific car I was interested in and was told "feel free to go take a look, take all the time you need" when I asked them if they were going to let me go to the parking lot and check the car all by myself, I was told "as long as you're not going to take the car out for a drive, take all the time you need". How's that for service? I wish the small details (of the car) didn't matter this much, I would have liked to take my business to them. read more

I never imagined I would need to buy a car during a pandemic (or actually live through a pandemic). I previously owned a car and sold it 8 months ago since I didn't drive it much in the DMV. Public transportation is usually pretty reliable and there's also ride sharing. Well, the pandemic changed everything and made me realize that I needed my own transportation since metro is impacted (and I wanted a healthier way to get around). I was referred to Sport Honda by a friend and had a wonderful experience. I worked with Mike Martinez and he was knowledgeable, patient and not pushy at all. He's also very responsive. He walked through several options with me and I decided on a 2019 Honda Fit with around 30 miles. The financing staff is also great! Mohammad Chowdhury walked through several payment options with me and helped me stay close to what worked for my budget. He was patient and answered all of my questions. I now have a fun, new reliable car, put $0 down, and my first payment isn't due for 90 days! I have decent credit but it could be better...so I really appreciate everything they were able to do to work with my budget. UPDATE - I promptly received a call from the dealership owner (Gibbs) based on my original review. I appreciated his outreach and his sincere interest in learning about our experience. We initially had a positive experience with this dealership, especially our salesperson Anthony who brought a car to us to test drive. We found him to be personable and knowledgeable. We intended to purchase the vehicle from them; however, they made an offer (in writing) that they didn't end up honoring, apparently solely to get us to purchase the vehicle more quickly. When I called them on it, they offered to honor the terms of their original offer but it was too late - we won't give our money to a business that engages in questionable business practices. read more

This is where I go to for all my car needs. My parents have always owned a Honda since forever and as a child i always came with them here and now as an adult this is where I visit. They always went to Mr. White and I always go to him as well. Such a pleasant, attentive service advisor. Very knowledgeable and keeps you updated on your car while you wait. I booked an appt for 11am and was seen in a timely manner. I typically go here for my oil changes, and any other car needs. Typically takes about an hour for a oil change and the waiting area offers free coffee/latte drinks and hot chocolate, tea, etc. there are vending machines available in the waiting area as well. There's an additional waiting area in the back as well. It's a convenient location, just a few minutes from my house and there's a shopping center across the street if you want to explore while waiting for your car. They are temporarily located at 3110 automobile Blvd, the old location will be closed for about another year. read more

I had to take my vehicle in for service on Tuesday around 3:30 pm. Jack was my service advisor. Once hearing the noise he said something was definitely wrong. I told him it may need a tensioner and gave him the service recommendation from Koons Honda because I just moved from that area a few weeks ago. He said he wouldn't charge me for the 60 dollar diagnostic test and they would call me with a price. He called me later that night with an alarming price way over the estimate I already had gotten weeks earlier 468 for the tensioner on top of 60 for an oil change. I should have picked up my car that moment. But I tried to give this place a chance. That was a huge mistake. Two days later I was told they should have done a diagnostic test because the alternator was also bad and the car is making more noises. So basically it's worst now and I just paid 450 for nothing. My car sounds worst than before and I have to drive it to NJ this weekend. On top of everything the service attendant Ana that took my money was rude and impatient when I was paying for the work I had done. I just had the worst experience and I'm afraid to even drive my car now. I also asked to have my lighter checked and was told it couldn't be looked at because the mechanic was way to big!!! However, I would not return for any service at this location because one of the staff members, Ana Guerra, was extremely unpleasant, inhospitable, and presented invoice in a very dry manner. As I was looking, after going to multiple dealerships (not only Honda), there was no pressure, no high intensity salesperson and just friendly, courteous and professional service. All my questions were answered (and there were many) to my satisfaction, even when I wanted deeper clarification. I ended up putting a deposit down for an ordered vehicle. I even texted to change the order, twice, and it was ALWAYS professionally handled. I cancelled the order approximately two weeks later. But this is the best part! I was not argued with, harassed or anything!!! I did the cancellation by text with my salesperson. I received the refund of my deposit within approximately three (3) days. Why did I cancel? I have a 2020 KIA and found a reasonable insurance rate which was why I was looking to get rid of it. My former ins company had more than doubled my rate and it wasn't worth it. read more

WORST honda I've ever been to! Customer service stinks! I only ended up spending a total of 10 minutes here. Came to this location solely to buy a car... I told them I didn't have time to waste and all they wanted to do was joke around, saying the process takes hours, even the whole day. I knew what I wanted, and all I wanted to do was purchase and drive away in my car. Tim is the worst, didn't get the name of the other unhelpful lady at the desk by the door, Anthony Smith in customer sales ended up harassing my father and family... am a loyal customer, I come here to get maintenance done on my vehicle all the time . It doesn't matter if it's something minor or major I still bring my vehicle in. But recently every time I come in and get checked in it takes 30 minutes just to get written up! I don't understand, even if there's no cars and I'm the only customer in. I've had no appointment and I've noticed the porter going to every advisor to their desk and I notice the advisors tell the porter "No, I'm not taking a walk in" even if they're not doing anything and the porter ends up walking all over the place just to find someone to get me started up. I just think that's very unprofessional and disorganized, I'd advise getting better advisors that actually want to help out customers!! read more

After buying 3 Honda (2 accord and 1 CRV) in past at Sport Honda, unfortunately this time we had bad experience, Mike Canter was our sales person. He was busy so we waited for him for little more than 2 hours at the dealer ship. Then he came did not spent more than 15 minutes with us and he becomes very upset , Rude and obnoxious when we tried to negotiate the price. He literally walked away while my wife was asking questions about 0.9% Honda finance. we were stunt and speechless but still waited for 5 minutes hoping he (Mile Canter) will cool off and come back to us to close the sale deal, but never showed up again..!! I don't know is that a part of their sales training for intimidate customer to force them to agree with what ever price they want to sale the car or Mike Canter is just not able to do his job professionally? I bought BMW last year and my son and me went to the BMW dealer three different times to test drive and the salesman was very polite, professional and helpful. I think Mike Canter needs to find another job which does not inter react with customer directly otherwise I am worried about his long term health due to sales related stress which obviously he cannot manage. read more

I'm ashamed to admit this but I decided I'd check out another Honda dealership in the area (even though I KNEW in my heart Sport Honda was the only way to go). That big dealership's customer service and the way they operate in general was GMO. If you want a healthy and organic car buying experience head on down to Sport Honda! They have the BEST deals and they are Honda experts (precise, attention to detail, etc) TJ Troutman is your guy! Call TJ, drop in on TJ, or send him an email if his info is on their site and he will take care of you! I purchased a 2017 from Sport Honda last year and let's just make a long story short--it just wasn't a good fit for me. I called TJ (like I have a dozen times in the last year) and I told him I just HAVE to get something else and he told me to come in and he'd work it out. Fast forward hours later the problem that I walked in with went away! I walked out satisfied and feeling better than ever! The whole team at Sport Honda is A-1! Parts, Service (Jack Francis is the man!), Finance (Hey Brian!), the ladies at the Info desk rock, and literally everyone there is AWESOME! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ELSEWHERE! Our finance person was extremely nice but Sport Honda needs to work on getting their finance staff better training, updating what seems to be antiquated systems and processes, and also adding additional staff. They were lucky to get our business as we were very close to waking out and not returning. Original post: While our sales person, Tim, was amazing, the finance team at the dealership leaves something to be desired. We have been waiting over 2 and a half hours to meet with the business manager. The finance team does not seem equipped to handle the traffic on the weekend. I strongly urge this dealership to get more finance people or to get better trained finance people. Letting customers walk out to go get lunch is never a good idea... or at least not a way to close deals. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone who actually values their time. read more

This place is horrible. I just bought a car from here and I'm disappointed beyond belief. Sales They tried to nickle and dine you. They break down free was: 1. 300 for processing fee 2. 300 for restoration fee 2. 499 for MBA fee 3. Then they add this up and then add cost of the car.... This is a huge cheat!!! Support Then they told me they would detail my car for me as the restoration fee. When they detailed my car I had more scratches and dents and rips and pant drops outside and inside the car then when I dropped it off. Mohammed/Dave told me this is a used car so what do I expect. I expect the car I bought not a deterioration version in less than 8 hours. Mohammed also told me that I didn't see the scratch because it hadn't been washed...but I DID wash it the day I got it! Horrible customer service from the service department! Don't normally go out my way to wright reviews especially if they are negative but this is unacceptable. Ordered tires a week in advance to this location at a set date and time and when I get there they have no idea what I was talking about and couldn't help me at all. I receive a call hours later from the parts department saying my tires arrived but couldn't install them do to them being "booked" out. They have no consideration for peoples time and convenience. I am a civil patient customer and don't give people a hard time but this is upsetting. read more

ETA -- In response to Robert's comment on my review: Robert, I appreciate your taking the time to reach out. I have bought and sold many cars, so I do understand that a car will have a slight variation in value based on who is doing the appraisal. However, as you know, there is something called fair market value. And it is just that, fair. The come to this valuation based on the going rate at thousands of dealerships. It is an average of the going rate at dealerships. It is a range, some will offer in the higher end of the range, some will offer in the lower end of the range. However, I have never in my life been offered 60% of Blue Book. Ever. What I was offered at Sport Honda was far from fair, which is okay. I can walk, which I did. HOWEVER, poor customer service aside, what *is* concerning, aside from Dave Kelly's unprofessional demeanor, is the reasoning for this offer as it wasn't even truthful. He was deceptive, and that's not okay. He told me that my trade-in needed it's routine maintenance, which it did not (and I know it did not because I personally took it and paid for it only 3k miles ago). He told me that my trade-in needed a timing belt, which it not only did not need, it does not even have! I get that everyone prices differently and there is a fair market range. What I don't get is how thousands of dealerships can agree on a price range for a car and then Sport Honda thinks they can trick someone into accepting 60% of that, all based on mistruths. I wrote a review of this place about 5 years ago, and have had such an excellent experience that I need to write another review. I leased a Honda through this dealership, and had a great experience with that. Mike had reached out to me a little while before the end of my lease to introduce himself and check in. I wanted to buy the car at the end of the lease, but since I'd moved to Virginia, I decided to buy the car from a dealership closer to me, which turned out to be a big mistake. I had huge issues getting any information from them. When I couldn't get answers from them, I reached out to Mike instead, who not only responded promptly (it would take me a week and 2-3 emails to get an answer from the other dealership), but if he couldn't answer a question himself, he'd find out who knew the answer, and would ask them. He really went above and beyond to help. If I buy another Honda in the future, I will absolutely return to this location. read more

I had a great experience at Sports Honda. Not having bought a car in over 12 years, it was a bit initmating searching for a new car. My research said to check out a Honda CRV, and coming from a 2006 Pilot, it was an easy decision to stay with the Honda family. When we entered the dealership, I was steered towards my sales person was Mohammad Chowdhury. He was great, not pushy or overwhelming. He explained everything. I didn't buy right away, but told him we'd probably be back. I think we surprised him when we did come back the next day with full intent on buying the CRV in the showroom that we had looked at. He worked with his manager and got us the price we wanted. He gave me all his contact info and said to call him if I has questions to call him anytime. I also had a great experience when financing the car. Loved Bill. He was someone I felt I could trust and that he wasn't trying to sell me. When I picked up the car, the manager had even thrown in splash guards for me! I would recommend it for buying a car. We'll see about the service department next. read more

When I was recently looking to lease a car, I was frustrated by the male bravado that still exists at far too many dealerships. If you're a single woman like I am, who won't have a guy at your side to "do your bidding," you will be treated fairly and with respect here. Highly recommended. None of the b.s. you usually get as a female, and the customer service I received was really the red carpet treatment. Since I had been car-free for a couple years, I got picked up for a test drive, and then picked up again when it was time to actually complete the sale. Bravo! It's funny how their reviews are 1 or 5 stars. I would take the 1 stars as truthful and the 5 stars as bogus. Never give Sport Honda a deposit. I gave them a $500 deposit in February and they are refusing to give it back. The Sales Mgr who told me it was 100% refundable is playing hard ball. They want me to come back in to try and sale me a car. They are very hard nosed salespeople and dishonest. My father in law passed away and we decided it was not the right time to buy. Don't believe them. To this day they are still trying to sell me a car. They have no soul or feelings for what my family is going through. The worst experience that I have ever had with a car dealer and that is not saying much. My family will never never deal with them again. They have left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

Our minivan was in need of it's scheduled routine service. My wife has been on my case for weeks to get it done, but I'm out of town... what to do. Lucky for me there is a dealer close by that has won Honda's President's Award for excellent service. Perfect right?!? Yeah, not so much. My wife made an appointment to have the service taken care of: Her: I need the routine service done on my van, how long will it take? Them: About 2 hours Her: Great, because I have commitments that I have to be at by noon. Them: No problem, you're the first one on our list So, she shows up first thing in the morning ready to go. Nearly 4 hours later they come back with $180 bill. She's visibly upset because she is has missed her appointment, but there was no apology or explanation from the dealer. So what did $180 and nearly 4 hours of work get us? According to the paperwork, an oil change. Oh, and they rotated our tires. What took them 4 hours and made my wife miss her appointment? Well, that's what I wanted to find out. When I called in and selected the service department option through their phone system I was redirected to their voice mail. Again. And again. And again. When I finally got a hold of someone I explained that I didn't understand what was covered under the service. The first person I talked to (Mr. White) didn't offer much new information. He said I received an oil change, they rotated the tires, and cleaned the brake pads. So I asked what took so long, and he said that the battery was only showing as being marginally charged and they needed to charge the battery because the van wouldn't start. Would have been nice to have let my wife know that needed to be done. I'm sure it was quite laborious to charge that battery because I naturally was charged for double the labor that it should have taken. So, fine. I spent $180 on an oil change, tire rotation, and my battery got all juiced up. That's when I decided to write this review. But it just wasn't sitting right with me. So I get on their website and see that they offer and express oil change with a complimentary visual inspection for $34.99 and I just couldn't reconcile the difference with the service my wife said we received, and with the information I received when I called in. So I try calling back again, and again. Finally was able to get through to the service line and have a nice conversation with Pam. She was very helpful and explained that I had indeed received the full service maintenance which includes filling of vital fluids, lubricating recommended areas, parking brake adjustment, and a very thorough inspection. I asked why these service items weren't communicated to either my wife on the paperwork she was handed or to myself when I called in the first time, and she wasn't sure. She just offered an apology and promised to mail out the complete details to my house. At least I now understand the charges, but the entire experience for what should be simple routine maintenance was anything but pleasant. I decided to keep the review at 2 stars because for service from a dealership that has received Honda's President's Award for exceptional customer service should have been a better experience. read more

3.5 stars. I had to revise this review and give them 3.5 stars instead of 5. The door to my gas tank was not functioning when they sold me the car, and they didn't tell me about it. They had to have known about it because they had the car serviced before selling it to me. I don't know why they didn't just tell me about the door. I didn't realize it until I got to the gas station to fill my tank and had to jimmy the door open with a key. The rest of my old review below is still valid for the most part. And I would buy a car from here again. But points deducted because it turned out they were not completely up front with me. I would have still bought the dang car. ******* It took me all of 2010 to recover from my previous car buying experience, which was a disaster (see my review for Infiniti of Tysons). Finally, I mustered up the courage to inquire about an '08 Subaru Legacy advertised through Sport Honda. I test drove the car and immediately fell in love. Leather seats, moon roof, all the bells and whistles and very low mileage. The one problem was that the bumper was messed up -- but they put a new bumper on at no charge. The salesman (Barry) was nice and willing to work with my on price negotiations. The finance guy was funny and friendly, and took his time to show me a bunch of different options. I left there knowing that I got a GREAT deal (further research has confirmed this). And it didn't take too long either -- maybe two hours. My previous car buying experience took more than five hours. Seriously, if you are thinking about buying a car, take a look at the stock here. They are honest and are the type of dealer I could see myself buying from again without thinking twice. read more
