So far I've had three shirts made here. Andrew has a fair selection of fabric to select from and allows a great deal of customization - anywhere from collar, cuffs, placket, buttons, pleats, etc. He was great at advising on the positioning of the pleats and how tailoring of the armholes affect movement. For ~$80 each, Andrew measured and had made me some pretty trim, good quality shirts. If you aren't going to Hong Kong or Shanghai anytime soon (where you can still get bespoke menswear for cheaper) then Spoon's is a great place to go. And if you're paying around that much at a department store then at least take the time to come here and you'll get something that fits much, much better. Another plus is that once you're satisfied with your measurements Andrew will have it saved so you can simply place orders and have them shipped to you (helps if you live in the South Bay). read more

One of the best tailorings I have had. Great customer service, punctual and stylish. They don't seem to be bothered by labels and last minute requests or changes. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they only tailor items that they sell in their store. And they do not sell ties which I though was weird but like I said they do an awesome job tailoring the suits that they have and I do like their sense of fashion. read more

Came in after reading good reviews. Place is tucked right outside of the financial district and into Chinatown. The young gentleman working there at the time attended to me right away. His English is choppy, it was a bit of a struggle to communicate but I was able to cope and understand him and vice versa. I wanted a simple white dress shirt tailored to me. He took various measurements of my upper body and even photos. I chose the collar, front hem and cuff style. The process was quick. $110 I got a call about 2 1/2 weeks later and received my shirt. Good fit. Satisfied and I would consider coming back again. read more

I knew my Dad used to fly to Hong Kong to have his pants custom made. And he used to buy 10+ of them at a time and wear them for years. In SF, you get the same quality of craftsmanship, measured here made in Hong Kong, and then finished here by the master tailor. The suit turned out beautifully that the boy went back to get many other pieces. Pick a unique lining for your jacket, and have them put in extra padding for inner thigh as good fabric do wear out if you wear it all day long or walk a fair amount. read more

Great customer service! Kalvin is very helpful and he always squeeze me in for fittings at times good for me. Very important for busy professionals. Much appreciated! Tons of fabrics to choose from, but he can help you make decisions fairly quickly. Will finish this review after the final fitting is done. So far so good. read more

Spoon Tailor made my wedding suit. They were fast, efficient, helpful and produced a beautiful suit that I will wear for years to come. I was very happy with my experience there and got many compliments. If you're looking for a really nice custom suit that won't break the bank (granted...it's a custom suit so it's not cheap), then give Spoon a look! read more

I had a suit made here 5 years ago. The fit was top notch and the fabric was the smoothest wool ever-- Valentino 130s. You can tell nice wool by how quickly the wrinkles come out of it when hung up-- and this thing barely even holds any wrinkles. Five years later, the suit still fits like a charm. It's been to many events and several continents and looks better with the little bit of age. I want to come back and have more made; the cost is an investment, but I think it's worth it. Btw, I wasn't a huge fan of the shirt they made with the suit, so next time I may try a different fabric for the shirt. read more

Spoon Tailors did an absolutely wonderful job tailoring a tuxedo for my wedding. It fit perfectly and looked amazing. The whole process was really smooth and they did their best to make sure I was satisfied. I will definitely be returning in the future. read more

I called them wanting to bring in my dress pants for hemming but they hung up on me after telling me the price and in what time frame they could do the job...they didn't even give me any time to speak and just hung up on the phone like that. Pretty rude. read more

I ordered a custom made shirt from Spoon about a month ago to see if I liked the resulting product, I figured it was worth it given the great price. However given the product I got was so good, I've since ordered and received 5 additional shirts. Andrew is a true professional and I am looking to get a jacket made there in the near future. I've had suits and shirts made at Brooks Bros, and the quality is just as good if not better with Spoon. read more

I'm a short skinny guy. Most shirts and sportcoats in retail stores are way too baggy specially the gut area. Macy's carry "athletic fit" (European Cut) suits that work for me, but selections are limited. Shirts, no luck... I just wear them baggy and have to tuck cause it's a little long. Solution: get them tailor made. In comes Spoon Tailor. I was just looking to get a shirt (or 2), but ended up getting a shirt and sportcoat made. They have a lot of material to choose from and a whole lot of options. You'd think only french or regular cuff; spread or pointed collar... uhh that's a negative. With Andrew's help, we got the pattern, colors, and the other options selected. Results: the sportcoat fits perfectly. It's slim, but not restrictive or tight. The length is spot on. The quality is outstanding... full function sleeve buttons. The shirt beats any store bought -- cause it fits! The right length and the right width. Andrew even accounted for my bigass Casio watch -- it doesn't get jammed a the cuff. Overall, I'm impressed. Customer service is awesome. The quality and craftmanship is superb. I'll be back for more... they have my measurements on file -- turnaround will be even faster. read more

These guys saved my wedding! Andrew made three trips to the Airport, Oakland, and dropped off the suit at my home - all on a Sunday - to get me my suit before I was flying out to my wedding the next morning! Aside from that, the suit is easily the highest-quality suit I've owned. Beats out my old Boss and Armani easily. read more

We were in a rush to get a 3 piece suit for our upcoming wedding. We only had 5 weeks when we found Andrew. He is so patient and willing to do everything he can to help his customers. I normally don't give out 5 stars because I have high standards, but Andrew definitely went above and beyond and I think he deserves 6 stars if I can give. Aside from his excellent customer service, the suit came out amazingly - all handmade, fit my finance perfectly, and with all the details that you can imagine. We have shopped at the luxury brands before - Armani, Zegna, etc. I would definitely say these brands don't worth what you pay. The suit that Andrew is made with full canvas and Armani/Zegna only use glue. I would recommend you do some research about bespoke suits before you come to Andrew. You would appreciate him even more if you have shopped around. The 3 piece suit we got is made with the top fabric from Loro Piana, no doubt the best of the best. We would definitely come back to Andrew, even just for a pair of customized pants! Highly highly recommend Andrew, you will not regret it. read more

Randomly came across spoon while strolling through Chinatown a few months back and it has been the best find! The store manager, Andrew, walked me through the whole process and clearly knows what he's talking about. Gave them a try and got fitted for a couple suits. The ability to choose everything from how long you would like the jacket, the fan style, lining, etc... really adds that personal touch that you don't get from made-to-measure or off the rack. 3 weeks after my second fitting, picked them up (have to note that they came EARLIER than expected) and could not be happier. The cost actually works out to be cheaper than going to Macy's, Nordstrom's or anywhere else and the quality is much superior. I will never buy another suit/shirt anywhere else and would recommend this to everyone! read more

I've never had a tailored (much less bespoked) suit before, so I had no idea what to expect going in. Wow, what a cool experience and more importantly, what a great suit! I went here so I could get a suit for my wedding and could not be happier with the result. These guys know what they're doing. They kept me informed about the process and always had great advice and input. For the quality, they are very affordable. Very highly recommended. read more

Great customer service. Even I went back to them for a couple of times to fix the fitting on shirt & they're more than happy to do it for you. I will go back to them on my next suit. Thanks Spoon Tailor!! read more

So I'm awaiting my final fitting of my 3 pc suit from spoon tailor. So far I've been very impressed with the quality and attention to detail. About 2 months ago I brought in my favorite suit, custom made by WW Chan, to see if Spoon can duplicate it. I paid top dollars for my Chan suit as I chose Zegna fabric for that suit. And no one can beat Chan's workmanship. Since Spoon is not carrying Zegna fabric as of yet, I chose a Loro Piana fabric. I was very happy with the price Andrew quoted me. Last week when I went for my 2nd fitting, there were a few minor adjustments that needed to be done. Since I'm very particular when it comes to detail, I had to point out a couple of minor issues that caught my eyes. Both Andrew and the master tailor were very professional and accommodating to my needs. They were more than happy to make the adjustments as necessary. I also ordered 2 custom shirts. They came out nice. Compared to my Chan shirts, they are just a tad below in workmanship, but no complaints here because I paid 3 times the price for my Chan shirts. I will definitely order more shirts from them. All in all, I would definitely recommend Spoon Tailor if you are looking for a quality custom made suit or shirt. You won't be disappointed that's for sure. I'm looking forward to having more suits made here, especially they will be carrying Zegna fabric. I will probably try their other high quality fabrication from Dormeiul as well. read more

I had two pairs of pants made - one with fabric I acquired elsewhere and one from their catalog. I have a build that's a bit hard to fit, so the pattern had to be altered considerably from the standard. I couldn't be happier with the results - a nice, trim, but not tight fit through the seat and legs, with a good drape. After the first fitting I was feeling very good about the prospects, and the stitching on the finished product is very good. No irritating loose thread anywhere, the lining is attached very nicely, and the pockets are really well made. Top-notch work. I'm now planning to have some shirts made here, and probably a sport coat in the next year or so. read more

Picked up my tux last week and couldn't be more thrilled! They have attention to detail like you wouldn't believe. Even noticing my shoulder difference because I had an injury in college rugby. The material shipped from Italy was top notch and the way they put everything together from photos my wife and I showed them was perfect. So worth it, can't wait to show it off on the big day at the end of the month! Highly recommended! read more

Excellent service, material and the shirt fits really well :) Not too expensive!

I found this place while my wife and I were walking around San Francisco. Initially, I ordered several shirts to test out the quality and service. I have been very satisfied with the whole process. The customer service was top notch, Andrew's attention to details was fabulous, and the choice of fabrics was numerous. The end product was superb! I have since ordered more shirts from Spoon Tailor. I have also recommended this establishment to my friends and family. read more

I was in Chinatown and I came across this tailor shop. I walked and was greeted warmly. I decided to try having a custom shirt made after wearing countless off the rack shirts that varied in fit. I got measured and I was guided through the process of customizing a shirt and seeing various kinds of fabrics. After I had ordered my shirt, 4 weeks later it arrived in the mail and the fit was fantastic. I will be ordering more shirts and a suit next time I'm in town. read more

Bought 2 Loro Piana super 180s 3 piece suits ~$1800 each. Great quality throughly pleased with the process.

I got my first bespoke suit here. The price was very reasonable ($850-something, which includes tax), and the suit fits like no other suit I've ever worn. I have odd proportions, so getting something off the rack rarely works out for me (aw, sad face). Plus the service was fantastic! I will be back for a blazer. read more

I typically don't write reviews but this place is amazing. I get compliments every time I wear the suit. Can't recommend this place enough. I wish they had a location in NYC. read more

Such friendly, informative guys. They do great consultations if you have bought a suit and want to know if it needs tailoring. They're really cool, understanding that you may have bought a more affordable suit elsewhere. And, most important, if the suit doesn't need tailoring, they don't upsell you to unnecessary work. I've had several that they've needed to help with and several that were fine as is. They're truly great guys. And they'll give you good, practical, supportive, honest recommendations. It's always a pleasure dropping in to get their helpful consultation! read more

Andrew has continued to provide amazing shirts at a great price. The customization and pure quality puts all of the big box retailers to shame. I suggest trying a shirt out but be careful as they are addictive. read more

Just picked up another suit and it is great. Nothing fits better then Spoon's custom suits.

I always wanted to have a hand tailored suit made for me. I tried to have one made in HK and it turned out to be a disaster. I found Spoon Tailor on YELP and made an appointment for a fitting. Best suit I have ever owned. If you want a custom tailored suit, go to Spoon Tailor. They are the best! read more

I just had my suit personally delivered by Andrew. After spending much time on determining the best fabric for my suit needs, Andrew and his tailor expertly fit me for a suit. Having had other suits made in the past, I was very pleased with the quality of the fitting, the quality of the fabric and the quality of the finished product. Spoon Tailor was very professional throughout the process. I look forward to having my next suit made by Spoon Tailor and recommend their services to anyone looking for a hand-tailored suit. read more

I'm a bigger guy and have always have trouble fitting into suits OTR. Either the pants have a 20" leg opening or the hipster jackets just don't fit. I've had two suits made from spoon and they fit perfectly. They can customize everything (pockets, vents, liners, lapels, collars, cuffs, etc) and it's truly a bespoke process. Turnaround time is great too; my first one took about three weeks to get back, the second was returned in two weeks. I highly recommend spoon to anyone looking for a quality, custom suit. read more

I've had maybe a half-dozen shirts shirts and now a jacket made my Spoon. Everything looks great. Not only does everything fit perfectly, but the fabric and detailing are top notch particularly on the jacket. Andrew and his brother are smart, affable guys focused on customer service and frankly saving me a lot of time. Five stars indeed. read more

I love the custom dress shirt I got from Spoon. I'll definitely be going back for more shirts in the future.

I've had more mixed experience lately, maybe because they've been busier. Clothes that don't match measurements, and inconsistency between garments that should be the same. My jury is out a bit right now... read more

Amazing service. Called them for an emergency suit fitting for our wedding and they invited us to come by that day.
