In the corner of an otherwise packed Ghirardelli Square, one can find this gem. For whatever reason, the store was empty when we waltzed in. And, over the course of the 20 minutes we spent, only six to ten people seemed to wander in and out. Which is a real shame. We spend the better part of our time saying, "Ooohh, look at this" and "Oh my, this would be great for Todd, Adam, Matt." We ended up buying several random items. It's the sort of place where you will find eclectic things, for the eclectic people in your life. Like awesome music references. Rock & Roll, particularly. And if you don't have eclectic people in your life, this place will probably be a quick study. But it is definitely worth a peruse, and definitely a nice alternative to the crazy lines of the brewery, and all the chocolate related material. Customer service was pretty minimal. Never asked if we needed any help (and remember, we made a full tour of the place over the course of 20 minutes). read more

While looking for gifts, I wandered into the west plaza of Ghirardelli Square. There I found the Jackson&Polk shop. Jackson and Polk intersection in lower Nob Hill is in my neighborhood, so of course I had to check it out. Loads of backpacks from Swedish brand (which I am never sure I pronounce correctly?) FjallRaven. There is the local hat company Goorin with cute caps. Jewelry, scarves, books, knick knacks and decorative items. Great name for the shop. Great assortment of gifts. Look for the Ghirardelli Chocolate Marketplace and you'll see the shop just next door. read more

My partner and I were spending the day exploring around the area, and made a stop at Ghirardelli Square. Jackson & Polk was tucked back in the square, and we were so glad that we came by. The aesthetic and vibe within the shop was awesome. Very chill and coastal, which we loved. There were a wide variety of things to look at and purchase, from apparel to handmade jewelry, crystals and prints, journals and apothecary items etc. The girl at the register had a great vibe and would check in with us every now and then while we walked around and looked at everything. And she was very engaged when we went up to purchase a couple of necklaces, holding great conversation with us. We had a great visit here, and definitely suggest stopping by to check out the space and the square! read more

This gift shop boutique was fun to visit and hang out in to look around. I'm a boutique and gift shop enthusiast and enjoy looking at curated picks and finds. They had many beanies for like $30 or more. They had some knick knacks. I found something for around $6 to buy. It's a small book that says "Dont's for Husbands"! HAHA. They have shirts and fun gifts. This is what makes shopping strips fun in SF. Put some things for sale at $5-10 or $15 and people will see what they can get. read more

I happened to find this little store while listening to some afternoon jazz they were playing in Ghirardelli Square. WOW! I fell in love with this little place. It has all kinds of fun little artsy collectibles. Their shirts are creative, made out of the softest jersey and oh so comfortable. Did I tell you that they are all hand crafted by SF designers?! The jewelry is very vintage and pretty. They also have some unusual and eclectic gifts for my weird friends which I was ecstatic about!! Be sure to place this store on your lists of places to visit while in SF as you will surely enjoy your time here and leave with some authentic treasures. This place is so cute! My sister and I spent quite a while just browsing at everything. It's a boutique so there's a buncha stuff to look at [+] entertaining books (think a bit like Urban Outfitters) [+] neat gadgets/toys [+] pieces of art [+] cool decor [+] the employee handed us a 20% off one item coup too! We later went by Gigi + Rose and a few of the toys/accessories are similar. This place is smaller and is located on the 2nd floor. The vibe is different. Gigi + Rose has a more feminine feel to it. Jackson & Polk feels gender-neutral. I'll be back to browse around! read more

I really enjoyed browsing through this small shop. Located at Ghiradelli Square-- geared for tourists but definitely NOT tacky in the least. San Francisco based items and designers...with great prices. There is definitely something for everyone here. They had a little gnome section with Gnome terrariums, figures, soap, etc. which increases the cool factor -- according to me. Cute shop, must stop here if in the area. read more

Wow. In my wildest dreams, I never would have thought that this store would have been so amazing, based on the fact that it's smack dab in the middle of such a tourist trap. But as I was walking in between chocolate shops, trying not to look so bored for my out-of-town guests, I saw an amazing mural from afar and thought it was worth checking out. Turns out, it's my new favorite shop in SF! The manager couldn't have been kinder, and helped me find the perfect graphic t-shirt and Goorin Brothers hat. My friends got some jewelry and cards that were all made locally in Cali. I really hope that the good word spreads about this place -- I know I'll be back often to get tons of unique gifts for friends and family cuz this store has it ALL! read more

While strolling through Fisherman's Wharf, we decided to check out Ghiradelli Square. My wife saw Jackson & Polk and suggested we check it out. As soon as I entered I was hooked. They had tons of really cool, mostly local, items...jewelery, hats, t-shirts, novelty books, wallets, socks, novelty books, etc. While I didn't end up getting anything, I'll definitely be back. I'm still thinking about the knit turkey beanie and octopus ring I saw. And then there was that cool card deck of things to do and see in San Francisco....wonder if I can get over there before it closes tonight... read more

Who knew?! I certainly never expected to find hand-crafted terrariums, artichoke candles, sea horse necklaces and fabulously fun books in Ghirardelli Square. I bought some prints made by a local artist that were so charming -- the perfect place for any SF gifts or items to add to your collection of loving this city. The friendly manager told me stories about each of the local artisans and made me want to basically buy one of everything. They have a few lower-end touristy pieces to please the traffic in that area, but go above and beyond with customer service and beautiful displays to make you smile. Walking into Jackson & Polk is like walking into a shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you like air plants, anchors, birds (owls and sparrows), mermaids, scarves, giant handbags, and books about San Fran (and other cities), this is the place for you! No but really, they have a lot of really cute stuff that is (pricey and) awesome. My boyfriend and I got a nice anchor bottle opener there, and everytime I have been there I have been eyeing their cute necklaces and earrings. This is the cutest little shop in San Francisco. It is in the corner of Ghirardelli Square, but it is not hard to miss. At first glance, I loved the atmosphere inside the store. It was well lit and warm inside. When you walk inside the store, it is a bit crammed inside, but that didn't really bother me much considering it was a small store and they had a lot of stuff. Everything in the store was very cute and handmade. The only thing that "bothered" me was the fact that the prices were a bit of a stretch. I loved the store in all and I would love to buy everything in there twice! read more

What a treasure! My husband and I wandered around the city all day, bored with all of the "I heart SF" merchandise in one shop after another, and finally came across this gem. Great items but we put a bunch of items back on the shelf. We were in the store for a good 20mins in that time at least half a dozen other people came in. The sales assistant didn't say hi to a single person or even smile. She seemed bored and barely raised an eye when we approached to make our purchase.
