It's been years since I visited Splish Splash. Rides were fun of course but I was annoyed when people skipped to get their tubes for certain rides. Mind you we're already waiting so it made or wait longer. Staff who were there for the rides were friendly but too friendly to tell people to go on line. There seemed like no organization for certain rides. To clarify, I went with a friend and when we got to the top of stairs I actually get on the ride, the staff said we can't get on because it's only 2 of us. We obviously found another couple to go on ride with us. We ate at Johnny Rockets and food was good. They had staff sweeping but didn't have staff to wipe tables and benches. We went with our family this past weekend. The experience was not great from the start. First, the website was not working properly so you could not purchase general admission tickets online. I called right before our trip because it was confusing with it being a "black out date" if that meant that the park was closed, or that certain pass holders were allowed or if the park was closed entirely. I was told that the site was down so they were honoring online ticket prices ($54.99) at the gate. Not true. I spent a few minutes explaining this to the register and they said it was only weekday pricing (though it literally said weekends). We paid $60 for adults and $55 for juniors. Second, still not sure what black out means but I'm pretty sure it should have max the capacity, which it did not. The park was ridiculously crowded, wait lines were absurd so everyone naturally migrated to the pools. The wave pool and the kiddie cove (specifically the one with the pirate ship) were beyond crowded, water was a little TOO warm - which I think we all know what that means, and it was just visibly dirty. There was wig hair all over the place, we even found a wasp in the kiddie cove. Now, I dont know if Splish Splash has water filtering, definitely no intermissions to clean out the water which was VERY MUCH needed, especially on such a crowded day. Our kids, both 2 and 5 got sick immediately after. They broke out in rashes around their mouth, and legs and had fever as high as 103.5. Our doctor said they could have reacted to the contaminated water. HOW UTTERLY DISGUSTING!! This is only my 3rd time visiting this park, and definitely my last. All waterparks should have cleaning and sanitizing protocols. This one, in my book, has none. Will never ever come back. read more

I came here with my family yesterday to have a good time and It was by far the most disgusting dirty place to bring your kids to. There was close to no chlorine in the water. We came home smelling of pure urine. I felt like I was in a zoo. 4 hour wait times for rides and waiting up to 30 mins for dippin dots ice cream. This was a place I went to as a kid and loved it. I wanted my kids to experience what I did as a kid. However, my kids will never step foot in this place again but I know who should IMMEDIATELY, THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT! read more

Visited the park today and the line management system is one of the worst run out of any amusement parks I have ever experienced. You should be ashamed of the scam you're running to get people to purchase your version of fast pass. Most of the time the Staff wouldn't even check the times people had on their passes and just let them in. At one point I witnessed a staff member scanning a watch and when it came up that it wasn't their time proceeded to let them on the ride anyway, meanwhile other customers were waiting 30+minutes. Spent hundreds of dollars for me and my family to only do a few rides. It's really too bad since the rides we did get to go on were nice(reason for 2 stars instead of one). Only go if you plan on shelling out an additional $50 per person for the H2Ogo pass on top of the ticket prices. read more

Most Recent Visit Date: July 20, 2018 Living on Long Island it's inevitable that I was bound to go to splish splash a few times. So far I've made 3 visits. My husband really likes it so I have a feeling family visits to splish splash are going to turn into a yearly thing. My two most recent visits have involved taking my son so I will be reviewing as a parent. As a parent you really can't get on many rides with the little ones. They have a few kiddie pools so my suggestion is that if you can go with at least one more person you trust with your child or children that you go with two adults so one person can watch the child in the kiddie pools and the other person can go on rides, and that way if you're going for the rides you can take turns riding the teen/adult rides in shifts. The park can be expensive, we got groupon tickets so we got a few dollars off our admission. We also lucked out because the credit card machine for the parking line we went on wasn't working so we got free parking. I packed our lunch which they let us bring in with no problem so we also saved money and didn't have to buy food there. They have a parrot show that was really cool my husband sat with our son at the parrot show while I did half of a beachbody work out. Yes I worked out at the water park, gotta make it happen somehow. I would say if you have small children my best advice is that you bring another adult with you so you can take turns riding bigger rides and have a little fun yourself. Definitely showing signs of a struggling water park. Younger employees are poor machine operators. Lines are exceptionally long due to incompetence and lack of drive to efficiently move people up to the ride/slide. Ripe tide racer had the sleds used for the ride thrown all over. Had to carry my child over more then 20 of the sleds that were blocking all the slides. Ride attendant was not making any attempt to remove the sleds even after I asked for help. Johnny rockets food was absolutely terrible! The servers there would not accommodate my families need for a hamburger without cheese and shouted "NO CUSTOM FOOD ORDERS!" then proceeded to hand us a dried out over cooked burger with cheese. The raw onion on the burger was over an inch thick. To big for my child or just about anyone else even if you like onions on a burger. Overall poor food preparation and execution. I took my two nieces who were visiting NYC for the summer to this amusement park and we had a great time. I read the reviews and pre-warned the girls that the lines would be long and they would have to wait. The lines were worth the laughter, excitement and smiles on my nieces faces. There are tons of coupons you an get online or certain restaurants to get some form of entrance fee discount. The day we went it was really hot and humid and the park was jam packed. We arrived when the park opened thinking we were the early birds but the place was already packed. I remember visiting this park when I was younger and it was just as crowded. I prepared myself and bought our own food, snacks and drinks that we kept in the cooler in the car. You're not allowed to bring food in the park so we had lunch in the parking lot along with a lot of other families. However, we found out you can bring a small bag of snacks in a small zip lock bag and you can bring a small bottle of water. The prices for food and drinks were very expensive. I allowed my nieces to get one item while they were in the park. The only downside was my youngest niece was too short to ride some of the rides with her older sister. They enjoyed all of the rides and when they found rides that had no lines they went on them 2 to 3 times. The park had 2 wave pools but only one was open and they loved it. We even sat in one of the kiddie sections and chilled in their area waiting for the little waterfalls to come down. My nieces already said they want to return but only when the youngest gets taller so she wont have any limitations. This is definitely a family/friend fun park for people of all ages. This is my first time here and it's okay. The ride's line were long but that's okay. However, I would like to see more safety precautions. I went to the Giant Twister, finding a person sitting in the middle of slide, resulting me crashing into him. The lifeguards didn't do anything about it. Guys. Guys. Listen, please. You can have an outright AMAZING time at this water park. But it requires planning. Not a willy-nilly sudden weekend trip, but proper, efficient planning. I went twice this past summer and I wanted to wait until I completed both trips prior to writing this review as they were during different points in the season. My initial trip was a solo adventure (I do not recommend soloing a water park because many rides require a plus one and it's not always fun being the awkward interloper on the tube) done in early June, on a Saturday. During this time it's not as hot as one would like, but there are far less people as schools are open and many do not expect the park to be operating. Lines were practically nonexistent and mostly every ride was functioning. Granted the water is on the tepid side, but your body will adjust during the third go around on Alien Invasion. This is the best time to go, bar none. My next trip was a great time as well! It was a Tuesday and while the park was not remotely empty, it was not the horror show I experienced previously on a weekend during peak season. My pal and I drove there and after some minutes in line for Bootleggers Run, we opted for the speed passes. GET. THE. SPEED. PASSES. We got the basic ones (they're 35) and saved us a reservation for specific ride. Basically you pick the ride, see how long the wait is, occupy your time while you wait your turn (we would do an attraction with less traffic or wade in a wave pool), and head straight to the designated line for pass holders. This not only chopped time off the line wait, but we got to enjoy getting soaked in some fashion before the reservation. Sure, it's more money, but the investment was absolutely worth it. I can see how the passes may not be as effective on busier days (it's much different when EVERYONE has one as opposed to when we went and only a few people did), but... again, don't go on a weekend! Planning people!!! The rides? You have to be an absolute wet blanket to not like the rides at this water park (yes, that was intentional). From the high speed, endlessly tall drops of Cliff Driver and Bombs Away, to the delightfully stomach churning Alien Invasion and Bootlegger's Run, to the sheer chill of the Lazy River there's something for everyone. I will say to heed whatever intensity is noted on the ride. I thought Barrier Reef was a joke of a slide based on looks alone, I WAS WRONG. It jettisons you out like you would not believe! Food is an expensive laugh, but what would you expect? Lol. Skip it entirely. This park is awesome and should be attended by all, but I cannot stress enough to adequately plan. Prior to these two trips I had past ventures that were dreadful due to inept planning. It makes a MASSIVE difference. Recommended, easily!! read more

Went once and will never go back. The people there are scary. Bags are checked when you enter but apparently doesn't stop the drugs being smoked all over the park, people chugging Hennessey from the bottle, but god forbid I try to smuggle in a water! The lines for food, water, snacks, a drink are insane because they're apparently understaffed due to everyone receiving UE and not willing to work. however the park has no problem operating at full capacity on a Saturday without enough people to staff the park. Oh year and we were attacked by a group of younger men who cut the Johnny Rocket's food line when we waited for literally 2 hours to get the kids chicken tenders. Security came about 15m AFTER they stopped harassing up. Like full on bodies against bodies, hundreds of people waiting on line screaming for the young men to not hit people in my party. This used to be a good place to take the kids on a random day. It turns out it's mostly older groups of teens/adults that have taken over the park. I was so shocked during my last visit with my 11 year old son. There were guys smoking weed and even selling it right in front of small children on the lines for food. My son was so uncomfortable and wanted to get off the line. It's so embarrassing when it's my ppl behaving so wildly. The number one spot to come to in the summer with friends, family and kids. I must say come here during June when kids are still in school, also when NOBODY knows it is open yet. This is because there will not be many people coming here. Also the best time to come is when the weather is partly cloudy... because people don't want to be here when it is not sunny. If you plan on coming here July, August or weekends GOOD LUCK. You may be waiting an hour to go on a ride. People can be crazy, nasty, wild and annoying. Especially children. There is plenty of parking of course. Also there is many rides. Do not come here if you do not like walking or climbing stairs. Also do not come here if you have a fear of heights. The rides will not be as enjoyable. There are slides with tubes, double tubes and body slides. They have a lazy river, a wave pool, a tanning area. Also they have a cabana if you want to rent it out for the day with friends/family. It is private and is nice for parties. They also have a parrot show which is awesome for the kids, I always love it. There is also an eating area, which I recommend if you have a cooler, maybe leaving a few sandwiches in there. Just go to your car for lunch... the food here isn't that great. The food actually tastes bad. Also you save a lot of money! If you plan on coming here more than once in the summer, I recommend a Season Pass, because you will be basically paying for two times of coming here. You get extra stuff as well in the Season Pass depending which one you buy. This is a kid friendly place and NO SMOKING! You must leave the park and get your hand stamped if you want to smoke. There are lockers of different sizes, and you get a cool wrist band for your locker. The lockers can be somewhat expensive. I recommend if you don't want to pay about $13.00 for a locker bring just your car key with you. No towel, no clothes, just your bathing suit. This is also if you want to spend MINIMUM MONEY as possible. They have games here as well for your kids. But I highly DOUBT you want to carry a stuffed animal around a WATER PARK... It will just be inconvenient for you. Also buying clothes here or other merchandise is a waste of money as well. Unless you want it. I recommend it on your way out of the Water Park. The workers here and Life Guards are super nice and friendly. Be nice to them because they will be protecting YOU! And saving your life if it needs to be. Also remember the people working here are at work, not on vacation. So they are in the sun ALL DAY and are going to be tired. Don't be rude. read more

We went the last week of the summer. We had a great time and arrived when they first opened. We brought our toddler son who hates water and surprisingly he handled some slides in the kiddie areas with us well. He loved the baby swings in the water. We also went on lazy river with him on our lap which was our favorite part of the day. The only part of he day we wish we could have changed was that we couldn't get a drink anywhere. We were told we needed to book a cabana to do so. We went to book a cabana which are over $100 and were told they were all taken. Most seemed empty. So we couldn't get a drink while at the park. Was looking forward to a pina colada. Next year we will book ahead and be more prepared. read more

Came here summer of 2021. We've been waiting almost an hour for food and lines have barely moved. There are only unhealthy, fried food options for the most part at that. Considering we are still in a pandemic, the park seems to be overcrowded and booked to capacity. The ride wait lines are tremendous - you expect some waiting at a water park, but we've waited 1+ hour on some rides. The h2o pass seems good but is expensive and adds up for large groups. On some rides, it seems a dozen h2o pass customers who just came on line are let in before the riders waiting over an hour. Cannot say I'd come back again soon. read more

Splish Splash is a solid waterpark. I wasn't sure what to expect before my first visit, but the park is very clean, ride attendants and life guards are all super attentive, and there are enough slides and play areas to keep all age groups busy. My toddler nephew enjoyed the wading pools in Kiddie Cove. He was especially intrigued by the Octopus Pool, which holds kiddie swings on each arm and sprays a mist of water into the air. Obviously, there were always a couple of us watching him at any moment. But it gave us some extra peace of mind that Splish Splash offers free life jacket rentals down to the tiniest sizes, which fit him perfectly. The adults in my group took turns on rides and watching my nephew. I think we all probably got 3-4 unique rides in, though some had much longer lines (Dr. Von Dark's Tunnel of Terror, well over an hour) than others (Hollywood Stunt Rider, 15 minutes). We were there for the full day. We didn't pay for lockers, since someone was always with the stroller. We also didn't eat in the park itself. We packed a picnic lunch and ate at the picnic tables near the park entrance. There were plenty of tables, all in a shaded area, so it was a quick and comfortable (and free) lunch. Our hands were stamped on the way out of the park for lunch, so the reentry process was quick and painless. When we come back, we'll consider splurging on the H2Go passes, so lines don't eat up so much of our day. Otherwise, we all had a fun (and exhausting!) day, and I'm sure we'll come back as my nephew gets older and can enjoy more that the park has to offer. read more

We had a terrible experience yesterday August 15, 2021, we purchase a $400 unshaded Cabana with a Wasp hive in it, the park was over crowded and under staffed, we waited nearly 2 and a half hours to receive our food order, it arrived in segments, incomplete food order, without our drinks, drinks came after we all ate our cold meals, I purchased the H2go pass and couldn't get on any rides, the wait times ranged from 100 to 254 minutes. I took my children to Splish Splash for the first time and not only was there poop in the wave pool but one of the lifeguards threw my child down the slide before he was ready to go. My child was traumatized and now refuses to go near water even to shower. I informed the staff about the feces in the pool and they simply scooped it out without treating the water or anything. This is highly unacceptable and I WILL NOT be returning. The food was also disgusting I should've just gone to McDonalds if I wanted rubbery chicken. This "business" needs to be shut down. read more

On Saturday June 30, 2018 me and my family ( 8 of us including 3 kids ages 14, 9, 5) went to Splish Splash. We purchased preferred parking and was directed to the preferred parking area by the park employees. When we go inside there are 2 open parking spaces and we pull in, an employee name Jim comes out of the booth and tells us we cannot park there this isn't preferred parking, my husband tells him that they sent us here and we have the same green parking tag as everyone else in this area, he says well you cant park here, my husband tells him the same thing, then Jim ask someone on his walkie talkie where is preferred parking and they tell him the area and its exactly where we were. Jim says "oh they didn't tell me". So we get out and he says but you can't park here these are for emergency vehicles only, and my husband says "but there's no sign , nothing written on the floor that says that" , Jim says" well you can't park here and that's it", My husband says " if I was white you wouldn't tell me I can't park here" and Jim says' You're right I wouldn't have even came out. You cant park here". My 9yr old daughter said "well that was mean", and I tell her "it sure was but unfortunately there are ignorant people like that in the world, let's just enjoy our day". My husband said "im just going to move, we have the kids and we don't need this to escalate". So he parks elsewhere. We go in the park and tell a manager and he ask for his name and said sorry he will look into it, we knew he wasn't going to do anything. So we ask someone else where do the emergency vehicles park and they said all the way on the other side, which was nowhere near where we parked. We all had already purchased our tickets online and we got the H2go passes so definitely spent a lot of money plus preferred parking and to be treated like that in front of my kids was extremely upsetting. I've never felt that way and it was the worst thing. But we were all there to celebrate my kids Graduation and we didn't let that stop us from letting them enjoy their day. I think the only adult I've seen was maybe security.(and they may be 21) Let me not get started on the crappy website...well, yeah I will. It sucks! You order a cabana only to get there and not only they place you way in the back, but no food service! But they give you a crappy cooler with water (gee, thanks.) Speaking of food, let's now get into the DMV line...I mean the Johnny rocket food section. Nothing rocket about it because again, it's managed by kids and slow as hell. I waited an entire hour and ten minutes standing on line! Yes I timed it on my phone exactly! There's no adult managers to keep it flowing from the idiot families who despite waiting on line, get to the register and still confused saying ,"uhhhh I want uuhhhh? Sharkeisha and dem, what y'all want?!When the damn menu is nothing but BURGERS AND CHICKEN??!!! Totally unacceptable! The one star is for the rides. They're great. CONFESSION: I'm a person who was born and raised in New York and had never been to Splish Splash, -yes I know. I decided that I'm not going to be one of those people who never goes here because we are all damn bikini conscious. Slap in a one piece and lets go! Okay here are some tips to help you, seriously I'm saving you the headache of all this crap because you're going to be spending your time trying to find your way around here: Might as well save your energy. TIPS: -Buy all your tickets online (including your parking) Reason being that those lines do not go down quickly, we got stuck on a line just to get in, it's not fun. -Purchase the H2O GO passes ($35) if you can afford it on top of the $41.00 passes, do it. They are orange watches that you wear to not wait on line for the rides, which will save you a lot more time to have fun. Especially if you have really impatient little ones, you are helping everyone. I did it later there because I personally hate waiting. Reason being, some of the lines are seriously extensive, i.e. three hours for Alien Invasion. Never again. -If you think you need the large $18.00 locker for your things, get the medium. The large lockers that are opened with bracelets are large enough for six filled tote bags, or two heavily packed backpacks. -If you are travelling with kids, get their life jackets first (not mandatory, or at least not enforced) . Maybe it's more the children who don't know how to swim or are smaller than 48' inches. You have them hold your ID or hold $40.00. -If you are with children, don't announce loudly to them that you can pee in the water. It's gross to think that I got a mouth full of piss chlorine on the Mammoth River earlier. - Wear water shoes, or those ugly Velcro strapped sandals that your mom used to wear when you went camping as a kid. -you know the ones I mean. Reason being, we found so many random flip flops abandoned randomly at the park. Some rides will ask you to take off your flips flops because they will fly off. Like Lazy River, Alien Invasion, that huge slide (name escapes me right now) NOTE **there are cubbies all over the place, but it's really not necessary to use. We never needed a towel, the kids after the first ride didn't complain about the water in their faces, and by the time we got on another ride, because it was so hot, we were partially dry already. ** -Buy waterproof pouch online to keep your stuff inside and safe prior to going there. In the shop they at the park is $20.00, so you can keep you phone and money dry. They usually large enough keep your phone, cash and credit cards in. -The Ice Cream Shop by the entrance of the park fills your cone more than the other ones around the park. I dunno why. -The bathrooms near the Faux Beach, Past Mammoth River, away from the entrance of the park are the cleanest. -Eat at Monster Burgers or Johnny Rockets, every where else is not worth the money. Reason being it's the only two places here where their main proteins are not frozen.if your going to pay Amusement Park prices, might as well get quality. -Have lunch around 11am or 1pm when there is little to no line. Reason being the park opens at 10:00am and many people don't want to look like a fat ass going on one or two rides and then heading to lunch. -Go on all the crazy rides early. Reason being It gets all the endorphins and blood flowing. Endorphins are produced as a response to certain stimuli, especially fear. They originate in various parts of your body like the pituitary gland, your spinal cord and throughout other parts of your brain and nervous system. They interact mainly with receptors in cells found in the brain responsible for blocking pain and controlling emotion. Getting you really really pumped for the day, which I feel makes you less tired. ^ ^ NERD MOMENT, NOT SORRY. ^ ^ -Go on all the water rides first and then play the arcade and carnival games later. Reason being is all the water rides start to close out around 8pm from what I saw. Giving you three hours to go and walk around, unwind, play games, etc. -Ladies, wear a one piece. Reason being me personally, if I'm having fun, I don't want to worry about if my bikini strap us going to come undone down Dinosaur River/Run. During my time here we saw six different people's bathing suit come undone or completely off. One guys trunks came off during the Wave Pool. Bottom line, I'm trying to give you the best experience. Oh and there are severe wedgie alerts on some of these rides. I mean I guess if your Ass is going to eat your bikini bottom you won't lose it, but it's not cute. So I believe I covered all the bases for you, and I hope you enjoy Splish Splash as much as I did. I went from open to close, I played and ate everything. Aiight bruh let's keep it real here. Been here 3 times so far, must say coming here on weekdays and weekends makes a big difference. Weekends here are crowded, few rides needs to wait over an hr, the best ride wasn't open, staff was aiight, food was typical uncreative amusement park food. Would recommend it if on a less busy day and if you're just looking for something small, def nothing compared to Dorney Park. You can still have mad fun if you in the right mindset, bruh. read more

Splish Splash is always an awesome way to spend a summer day on Long Island. As a Great Necker, I go at least once a year. GA is about $42. A season's pass is about $72. One locker rental is $13. Parking is $14. So go early so you get your money's worth. If you're wondering about weather, go as long as it's at least in the 70s. I went today and it was 73 degrees. It was perfect! Sure, it was chilly after you get wet in the rides, but you're fine immediately afterwards. Remember, the cooler it is, the shorter the lines are. As for food, you can't bring anything inside, but don't fret - the food is actually good! I usually get the pizza or chicken nuggets. And don't forget about the dippin' dots, aka the best part of going to Splish Splash! My favorite rides: the Cliff Diver (the highest one - do it only if you LOVE heights and you want to risk getting a heart attack), Alien Invasion, Giant Twister, Dinosaur Falls, Lazy River to do some relaxing, and Bootlegger's Run, the new roller coaster. My one complaint is that my friend and I got stuck on Dragon's Den today, as you are supposed to, but the girl working the ride DIDN'T TELL US ABOUT IT IN ADVANCE! We were absolutely horrified. That wasn't cool. Don't forget to check a nearby Dunkin' Donuts or PC Richard & Son for huge discounts on tickets. read more

We recently went to Splish splash and bought the elite fast pass and it was a disaster! Not only did we pay over 100$ for fast pass there's no reason for it because there are ppl in front of you and their watches say 15 mins. So you're stuck behind people for at least half an hour on the fast pass lane!! We were able to get our money back because it makes no sense you pay for elite and still stand with the regular fast pass people. Splish splash needs to figure it out, either get another line or don't even offer that. They are also soooo understaffed. Last year there was staff quickly checking the fast passes in multiple checkpoints. Now This year was ridiculous, the lines were so long for fast pass it was not worth the money! We bought the season pass but Probably never going to go back and was going every year. Also the park should really limit capacity it's insane that you get even walk anywhere without someone bumming into you. OH and the best part, my baby sister had a life vest and one of the staff asked her to take it off so they can use it for the kids in the pool, uhh i told him no that's not my problem they don't have enough equipment for the children. Yay! Came here on a Saturday. Lines were surprisingly not too long. Was able to go on all the rides except the Shot Gun Falls cause I'm not too good of a swimmer :P Also went on the alien invasion and dragon's den twice. Rides to definitely go on: dragon's den, cliff diver (not as scary as it looks), alien invasion, and barrier reef! Do not underestimate the small size of barrier reef. You go SUPER fast on that body slide. read more

I been here a couple of times with the family and always had a great time. Make sure to get here early since it does get crowded and if you buy your tickets online (at least 3 days in advance) you get a discount. Once you are there they scan your ticket and its really fast to enter. I find the locker a bit expensive $22 for a large one but you get to keep your personal stuff safe so that's important. Yes the lines for the rides can be long but this is an amusement park so what do you expect. One of my favorite rides is the lazy river since its so much fun and everyone can do it. read more

The kids got season passes for Christmas. We finally got here this summer. In the past when I brought the kids, as the parent driver and credit card holder, I didn't pay just to sit on a chair and be the money. Water Park on Long Island. We went out here one afternoon "just because". It turned out to be a decent enough place but for me, it was just too darn crowded. My guess is since it is the only water park in the area, the crowds probably never abate. Crowds aside, they have enough attractions to keep you busy most of the day - if not actually on the water rides, you will spend most of your time on line waiting your turn. The rides are cool and if you've been to a water park, well you know what to expect. I kind of enjoyed the lazy river myself, mostly because I am lazy... I give it 3 stars only because the food options totally sucked and there was no booze anywhere - and believe me, I looked hard. Big parking lot. read more

I have never seen splish splash water so gross and disgusting I have been season pass member went other day w my daughter and the water for lazy river and some other pools were so gross we didn't want to go in anything else we went in few things then left earlier cause it was so gross on top of my daughter went to bathroom and a frog jumped out of the toilet ewwwwww and a lifeguard on one of the rides is supposed to help people of of tube after ride ends at end and he just stood there while people were trying to get out of tube didn't even seem like he cared about anything I wouldn't want him as a lifeguard read more

We visited the park today (thurs 8/26) as a group of 8 and it was very very hot and busy. The park was big enough and had enough rides / attractions to accommodate everyone and that was great. They do not allow people to bring food into the park but also have about 1/4 of the food stands opened with one employee per stand. This caused long lines, crying children, and hangry parents. Of course places are understaffed universally I understand that, but they need to allow people to bring food in at this time considering the circumstances. If you cannot feed a park full of patrons do not take their food and drinks away upon entry -- that is criminal. Talking to guest services was a joke who just responded with "it's busy today". A two hour wait for "fast food" isn't remotely OK for your guests. read more

This place is amazing - if you are looking for a day of fun outdoors for the whole family then this is the place to go. Easy access off the Long Island Expressway I took my son and his friends here for his birthday this past Friday and they had the time of their life - went from one water ride to another - it was so nice to see them so happy. Lines were reasonable and the staff were friendly when we had direction questions. We went into the River Pool after lunch, which was so much fun and perfect for after lunch. Another great feature I took advantage of - if your kids are old enough to go on the water rides without you then they have lounge chairs in sand and you can lay out and relax while they go enjoy the rides. This was the perfect meeting place throughout the day Splish Splash is a hidden Gem on Long Island that has been around for many years. You will not be disappointed with this water park. You can go for a day or for multiple days - there is plenty of fun at this place. I have been asked already when can we go back. : read more

Some rides are good. But don't even think about coming on a summer weekend unless you buy the H2go pass. Lines can be over two hours long. Then don't even think about eating lunch. Over an hour wait on the weekends. Is recco only going on a weekend that's over cast. As for the bathrooms, my suggestion is to hold it. Parking is ok. And employees are friendly. read more

I've been going to Splish Splash since it first opened when I was a young kid and as time passes the further downhill it goes. First, in case a manager reads these reviews, I'm going to mention"Hyperlight" which used to be "The Abyss." Please, lower the music. Someone who is legally deaf would hear that just fine; it's as loud as being front row in general admission to a concert and it's not enjoyable. Second, I don't know if it happened at the same time as the H2Go pass came out to give incentive for people to buy it, but it's absolutely ridiculous how they don't fill up group rides when there is an hour + wait time even when using the H2Go pass. The only person who I've heard trying to fill the ride up was the one at the Giant Twister when the third slide was open. The Bootlegger and Alien Invasion fit four people and have the longest wait time but they put people on two at a time instead of filling it. These 90+ minute wait times would be cut in half if they actually filled the rides up. Also, I saw someone who was alone and told she couldn't go on Alien Invasion, and when she pointed out that the ride is never filled with groups of four and she could go on with a group of two or three she was given an "Okay, if a group is willing to let you go with them then you can go." As opposed to grouping people to fill the rides in the first place like every other amusement park out there. I understand these are teens working the rides, but you can't tell me it's only teens managing the place as well. Third, water shoes. I wear water shoes so I don't have to touch the dirty ground barefoot. I don't see any written rules about no shoes allowed on rides x, y and z, yet on some rides you go on with no problem and then an hour later you go on the same ride only to be told you have to take them off. Last year I stopped riding Shotgun for that reason and rode Max Trax several times without a problem. Today on my second trip on Max Trax suddenly the shoes had to come off. Splish Splash gets two stars for its good rides. Hopefully management someday fixes the problems of the inept way it's run. read more

Let me preface this by saying we used to make an annual trip to splish splash every August on the Monday before Labor Day. A large group of us would go and the park was crowded, but lines weren't out of control. This was from around 2009 through 2012. We then went again in 2014 and had the same, positive experience. In all of those years, we were able to go on every ride, only waiting over 30 minutes for alien invasion and the dr. Von dark ride, which we thought were worth it. We were able to go on rides like dinosaur falls, shotgun falls, max tracks, abyss, giant twister etc multiple times during our day. We even took an hour for lunch. In 2015, we went and the lines were insane. We were told about the H2Go Pass when purchasing tickets, but didn't think much of it because we'd never had a bad experience. Well that was a mistake. We spent more time waiting on line than enjoying the rides. Last week, we decided to go again. WHAT A MISTAKE!! the crowd was no different than in the past, but the lines were horrible. After waiting for over 40 minutes to go on giant twister (Giant mistake!!) we decided to buy the H2Go Pass. Good thing we went when we did because they were sold out of all levels of it and closed the line right behind us. Luckily we were able to get the pass because we were on line already. We opted for the basic $50 one. Before purchasing the pass, we asked if any other rides besides giant twister were not using the H2Go pass that day and were assured by a supervisor that all were operating. Well that was a huge lie. Alien invasion and Hollywood stunt rider also were not honoring the pass that day. We asked if any concessions could be made since we were misinformed and told that there was nothing they could do about it. we weren't asking for a refund, just to be able to do something about the wait since supervisors are not informed of which rides are using the H2Go pass and which aren't. Poor customer service on their part. The watch itself is difficult to use, especially once it gets wet. Unlike Disney, if the ride is over a 2 hour wait, you can't reserve another ride after 2 hours. Also, if you decide to get everyone's pass on one watch, there's no way to schedule some members of the party on one ride and others on another. Not everyone wants to go on dragons den and experience the drop. No one told us this when we purchased the pass. While we were able to hold our spot on a few rides, we ended up waiting on long lines anyway. Bootleggers run was our first pick and we couldn't go on it until two and a half hours later. It was a ride that lasted no more than 1 1/2 minutes. Additionally, even though our pass was ready, we still had to wait on the H2Go line for 15-20 minutes on some rides. Even with the pass, we didn't get to go on every ride and still experienced long wait time. It seems like the only way to enjoy the park now a days is to spend the extra $120 per person and get the pass that allows you to save "up to 90%" wait time. That would mean that each ticket is $170 each. Not even Disney charges that much. Their pass is $20 for the whole day and it allows you to go on practically every ride. The final straw was when it was 4:59 and the rude, short blonde haired male employee at dragon's den closed the line, turning families with young kids away. We had just made it on line, as our H2Go pass time was at 4:58. He loudly expressed that he "can't wait to go home because I've been here since this morning" he then proceeded to get nasty with two small girls, no more than 9-10 years old to grab the tube. No one is saying it that he should have let everyone on line at closing, but when it's a minute before closing and the people are already at the line, there's no need to turn them away. It's funny though, the concession stands were more than happy to accept customers well past 5 PM. When the park is making additional money, they're fine taking it. Overall, this day cost $450 for 3 people, which was $450 too much. Breakdown: $55 per ticket, $50 per H2Go passes (if we would have lost the bands they give, we would have been charged an extra $20 per lost band), $40 for lunch ($30 for a pizza pie that tasted TERRIBLE--the teenager insisted on pizza, so we obliged), $40 for funnel cakes and two waters at park closing, $30 for parking, and $25 for a locker--all to deal with employees with attitudes, long wait times, and a park that SMELLED LIKE URINE everywhere you went. I definitely will not be returning and will not be recommending this place to anyone. read more
