I was there only once and will never go back again. The hairdresser was 20 minutes late and then finished my cut in 35 minutes ( it takes about an hour to cut my hair). She charged me $90 !!! Couple days later when I washed my hair it turned out that the right side is longer. Ridiculous. read more

UPDATE: I have nothing but amazing things to say about the salon and the ladies that work here. I finally decided to go lighter. Natalia exceeded my expectations. She asked me all the important questions on how I style my hair, how high or low maintenance I am with my hair. Worth mentioning that she only uses organic hair products. She's amazing and I kinda don't want to tell you about her and instead wanna keep her for my selfish self. But fine, don't say I never gave you anything. You're welcome. Lol. Patrycja did my hair for couple events and she is awesome. Can't forget my fairy Godmother Aneta. Does my facials, make up for special occasions and many other secret thangs. Today, day of my appointment you are calling me one hour before the appt to tell me that you can not take me, one hour before! Just make sure you don't get the stylist Ana or Anna, however you spell her name. All the stylist there looked calm and professional, but I got very unlucky, Ana did my hair very sloppy and she doesn't listen, she is too quick, rushes, and she was dropping the color everywhere on the floor and on me. She makes quick assumptions of what you want. I had to go in the 2nd time to finish the full highlights because the first time she did a ombre look, I don't know why, she makes assumptions and makes you get them. 2nd time was free and I was glad but she totally ruined it even more, she was trying to correct the color that came out and pretty much tortured my hair, she applied color 4 times and then washed it 4 times, and put countless amount of products. She even asked me during if I can brush my own hair rather than she does it. It was a traumatizing experience and my first time ever to color my hair. Ana is just not a good stylist, she does not have skills in hair coloring, it looks like I did it myself at home and its all a mess. I just feel bad for Ana, shes a good person and tries really hard to do good but she just has no skills!!!! I wish I got one of the other stylist, it sucks I got her! I know that Splendor Spa is next to my place, but I never went there. I was always choosing the place where I knew the owner or any staff member in order to feel comfortable. Lately I have seen the few pictures posted by the owner Alexandra on social media and I got the feeling that is the place I should go. My hair needed rapid help and I was looking for the place where Organic products were used on daily basis, not when someone wanted to. Anyway, I've asked Alexandra for opinion If I could have similar hair style to the one she have posted, and her reply was a surprise. "Please come by for few minutes, I would like to see and check your hair structure and condition, then I could tell you." That was something uncommon. So I have decided to come. We had a little chit chat about all details. She mentioned my skin, my eyes (it is called visage), and then she made her proposal regarding my next hairstyle. I liked that and I have set up the date. I am not gonna write all the details, it would take me a lot of time. But you all should know that all staff there is friendly, sincerely concern and great professionals. Alexandra took care of me not only hairstyle wise but we had great conversation about life, healthy habits and other great topics. At the end the outcome was beyond my words. I had a walk-in appointment for an underarm wax. The salon is very clean and the women are really nice. They offer a coffee/espresso or water while you wait. The wax room is a small private room, very clean and comfortable. I do not recall the esthetician's name and I am not sure what kind of wax she used but my hair didn't grow back for about 3 months. There has only been one other place I have had a wax and it last for a few months, and I moved so I had to locate someone who was just as good. Lucky for me I finally did; I will definitely be back! I was going to this salon for years,and after relocation back in Chicago I gave them a call for a haircut. I asked for Ana,but unfortunately my Ana (Ana with the twins) was not with them anymore,so they offer me new hairstylist which name was also Anna. Let me tell you...Splendor had to die for stylists,and I trusted every single one of them. So I said "Fine...Make me an appointment" Haircut... simple haircut. Cut the damaged parts and give me some layers. I end up crying,I was worried. My front part was disaster. Straight line,not even one layer... My whole left side was longer than my right. She end up curling my hair but as soon as I touched the door I put my hair up. I had 3months old highlights (I am pregnant) so she offered me Vegan and Pregnancy -Safe hair color in which I was interested. But...after this haircut I end up getting a color in another salon. Obviously I will get another haircut too but somewhere else. I really liked this salon,I never cared about the price (some yelpers said they are overpriced) because You`ll get what you paid for and I have never gotten bad haircut here,till now. I always feel pampered and taken care of and feel like a million bucks when I leave. I recently got married and had my color, cut, up do and make up done here and for the most important day of my life, I felt amazing. Zero stars. Tabatha seriously needs to go here. I came in 1 hr early & was patiently waiting. I asked for a consultation before my hair was shampoo'd as I wanted her to see my hair while it was dry & I brought some pictures as well. The salon owner (also my stylist) told me she would have me shampoo'd by a girl. I asked for a consultation while my hair was dry so I could show her. She sorta acted like I was bothering her & turned off her hair dryer as she was with another client. She said ok what do you want to know? I said well.. I was hoping to have a consultation with you before you did my hair. She was like go ahead while holding a hair dryer and her customer in the chair waiting for her hair to be finished. I said never mind as I felt awful as she was with another client at the time. So.. like a dummy I went and had the shampoos girl shampoo my hair. The girl was super nice however, she took a brush to go through my wet hair. I have very fine thin fragile hair & was surprised the salon owner had her use a brush instead of a comb to go thru wet hair. It should be combed as a brush is horrible to use when hair is wet. While my hair was wet the salon owner did my consultation but, I have to say I felt very awkward like asking for a consultation before my appointment was putting her out of her way or something. The haircut was just ok. I did give her a tip which I should have just given to the shampoo girl as she was kind & probably did not know not to use a brush when going thru wet hair. I found out later my stylist was the owner & feel it's sad as this is a new salon. If this is how you treat customers then, it will effect your business. Both my parents who are now deceased were hair stylists & I never heard of doing a consultation after a shampoo as it should be done before & I never EVER had anyone go through my hair wet with a brush as it should be a comb. You will break the hair that way. Isn't that beauty school 101??? 60.00 on my haircut & should have went to a more upscale place like Mario Tricocci. I don't mind spending big money as long as my experience & cut is worth it. Plus.. she kept talking polish to everyone while doing my hair as she kept stopping & starting to talk to people. This is not really upscale salon behavior. The place is clean, but overpriced. The owner charged me for trimming my hair $60. Of course she told me about that at the end. I was very surprised and shock because I have long, straight hair and I ask to cut only ends to fresh up the hair. My advice to you guys would be - just ask them how much it will cost before you start anything with your hair - they make their own prices based on what they hear from you for example : you have a great job or you have trendy clothes on you , so you can afford whatever they tell you to pay. read more

I had an appointment at 3:15 pm. i came on time but they told me ana didn't finish with her previous customer so is thats ok if ll i wait for like 10 min and i said ok no problem and can you imagine i wait their for 40 min after that lady who had hair cut with ana start yelling at ana cuz she was doing wrong and manager came to ana and talked with customer and manager start hair cut with customer and i was little nervous and hoping that its not gonna happens to me and then ana start hair cut but first i explained very well and i bring my phone and showed her picture of hair style which i would like to get its same picture which i was showing all hairstylist before. after that it took 25 minutes to f... I've been going here for years, and I continue to be impressed by pretty much everything they have to offer... the decor is beautiful, the place is very clean, the staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional, and I've always been happy with my appearance afterwards. I moved back to the area after being away for about 10 years. I tried a few different salons, only to find myself in a situation where I was the only English-speaking person in the room, and the staff acted annoyed that I didn't understand Polish. Splendor does have Polish-speaking staff, but I did not experience the same rudeness as the other places. I even had my hair for my wedding done here. The owner (Alex) went above and beyond to accommodate me and my bridesmaids, which made my day that less stressful. I highly recommend this salon! read more

I've been going to Alexandra for the past eight years now. Alexandra is on the same page with me and shares my values about non-toxic products.
