She is kind, compassionate, accommodating, and genuinely cares about both the residents and their families. During every interaction, she made us feel heard, supported, and valued. Her leadership is reflected in the culture of the entire community. What stood out most to me was the staff in Memory Care. Every single person went above and beyond for my grandma. They were attentive, patient, loving, and treated her with dignity and respect. It never felt like they were simply doing a job--it felt like they truly cared about her as a person. As a family member who spent a great deal of time at the facility, I had the opportunity to get to know many of the caregivers, staff members, residents, and families. The warmth and genuine kindness I witnessed every day was something special. My grandma loved living there. There were always thoughtful activities to bring joy to the residents, from fun events like Mocktail Mondays to musical guests and entertainment throughout the week. The staff work hard to create meaningful moments and a sense of community for everyone who lives there. As my grandma's health declined, the care and compassion shown to her never wavered. Knowing that she spent her final days surrounded by people who genuinely cared about her brings our family an incredible amount of comfort. The facility is frequently cleaned and they provide lots of activities. The staff is kind and the Executive Director is amazing. She really tries to meet family needs with empathy. The food is better than you would expect and I have lunch here regularly with my mother in law. The central courtyard and outside gardens are well kept and peaceful. My wife has made friends with others dealing with their parents in memory care and it has truly been a community.

It was elegant, appeared modernized and fresh, but still homey. A few lovely and elegant antiques remain here and there, but they don't distract from the fresh look. I spoke to a couple residents who said they loved it. The place was peaceful and quiet other than a group leaving for an event. I was given some respite information and literature, and the price was laid out clearly along with minimum stay, provided in writing so that any financial disputes should be easily settled. The Director's followup was supportive of my unique needs and staff was very kind. I am very glad I reached out to Caring.com to find this hidden gem in a good location. The only piece missing for me was a swimming pool. Definitely worth a look. Note that many of the negative reviews here are quite old and should probably be dropped to be fair, as the Director's name has changed from those mentioned and the descriptions are not aligned with the upgrades I saw.

Bright and airy, tastefully decorated, the Winding Commons Senior Apartments are where I'd want to…read morelive when I become unable to live on my own. The grounds are beautiful. There are nice seating areas outdoors and in. In the main lobby is a WII, which was being used as we toured. I was impressed with the number of residents that were out an about and friendly and engaging. Other senior apartments did not seem to have as many happy residents. Only two meals are served each day, lunch and dinner, with a limited selection of choices, but apartments include a full (albeit small) kitchen. Apartments have a nice patio or balcony. There is only one elevator for the entire facility, which seems like a potential hazard if the residents on the second and third floors have mobility problems and need to be evacuated in an emergency. Hallways are covered with smooth industrial (though tastefully patterned) carpet. Apartments however, are carpeted in a deep plush. This makes it difficult for residents using walkers to maneuver in their own apartments. Winding Commons is owned by the same company as Campus Commons Senior Apartments. Winding Commons is the better of the two.

I moved my mom in a few months ago and, like many families, was a little concerned about the changes that were taking place. However, I've been very impressed with the new management company. The new Executive Director has been attentive, positive, and genuinely engaged, which gives me confidence that the community will continue moving in the right direction. No community is perfect, but when you compare the cost of senior living today with what The Landing provides, there is a tremendous amount of value here. The staff has been caring, the residents are friendly, and my mom has been happy with her experience. All the staff that interact with us are very professional caring and knowledgeable. They offer so many activities that we have to make appointments with them so we don't interrupt bingo or happy hour. We recently attended a forth of July celebration with bbq, ice cream sundaes, and a live band. Everyone had a wonderful time. We have been to thanksgiving,Christmas, and st. Patrick's day celebrations. My wife and I have witnessed so many acts of kindness and respect by staff to the residents. I am a registered nurse and appreciate the low turner over of staff and the professionalism of the staff and management at Fair oaks estates. My wife and I feel very comfortable knowing that our mom's are safe and happy.

They treated my mother, as well as the rest of the family with respect and genuine compassion during one of the toughest times of our lives. My mother passed away over a year ago and I am just now getting to posting about the experience we had. I couldn't bring myself to do it until now. I will never forget our experience. After ten stressful months and thousands of wasted dollars at another facility, we were asked by…read morefacility administration to move our mother out ASAP. We frantically began trying to find her a spot, but it was hard because of her somewhat unique care needs. When we toured Aegis, we were skeptical. Without exception, the recruiting/admissions staff roll out the red carpet no matter what facility you're considering. They engage with staff during your tour, hype up the longevity of their employees, brag about the extensive amenities provided, answer all of your emails and calls immediately. Unfortunately, as we discovered at Atria (review pending), that treatment can end abruptly once you sign the contract and write that first check. But not at Aegis. Here, that excellent sense of security and care you get during your first tour is something they obviously strive to maintain. And it shows! After a full month at Aegis, all I can say is that I'm more impressed every day with everything, from the grounds to the staff to the food to the activities. Even the admissions coordinator continues to assist us and answer every question we have. The staff is happy, even if you're not touring. Someone comes in to check on my mom no less frequently than once an hour whenever I'm there, usually twice. If it's not the pet therapy, medication management, snack cart, or other scheduled thing, it's someone popping in to ask mom if she'd like to go to dinner or an activity, or simply if she needs anything. It's clear Aegis takes pride in its facility. It's well-maintained and concerns are promptly addressed. If the person who'd normally take care of it is out, someone will be there to try to fill in. The difference is night and day from the last place. For example, at the prior facility, we were only able to arrange transportation successfully about three times. The remaining fifty or so times, they ignored us or gave excuses. At Aegis, I had a last minute request to get mom a ride to the dentist and their response was "Don't worry about it. We'll make it work!" The grounds are well-kept and the facility is clean. Plus there's an adorable fluffy white dog that lives there and lots of times is just cruising around greeting folks. Aegis feels more like a giant shared house than a hospital, like some other places do. Many residents leave their doors open. It feels safe and I feel good knowing my mom is in such capable hands. Finally, they make extraordinary efforts to get to know you and your whole family. Some staff actually take notes about conversations with residents and families in an effort to personalize every single experience. I don't know how, but Aegis seems to have perfected the art of residential care. I cannot thank them enough.
