Staff coming to work late around 15 to 45 minutes late about everyday and leaving when and as they wish; no repercussions for it preferential treatment to the point it affecting job performance and team work. Managers cursing/ inappropriately yelling at staff. executive director expecting and demanding medtechs pass medicines and complete all treatments (insulin, eye drops, creams, bandages, etc) in a certain amout of time which results in med techs giving wrong medicines and documenting med errors. Staff does not have appropriate training and there is terrible communication skills. Managers do not encourage and do not support their team towards quality work or having proper resources to do thier job properly. the marketing and the executive director too busy riding in their tesla putting up a front and saving face, yet cannot be professionals and respectful to be a good example for staff or other managers; let alone focus on the issues at hand. Priorities right!!!!????Definitely Incompetent! Always short staffed, residents waiting over an hour just to use the bathroom. Residents falling a lot, which results in injuries where family has been suing this place for couple years now. Rumors about building being shut down/ sold out which is a concern for job security/ lay offs. The owner and executive director bluntly denying it, and lying to residents and familiesno wellness director (nurse) in the building. care givers sleeping instead of actually care giving. medtechs are overworked: expected to care give without extra compensation or support. kitchen staff expected to care give, again without any extra compensation or proper training. family members yelling and cursing at staff especially medtechs regarding concerns that managers should be handling. some care givers sitting around on their phones majority of the shift, not working properly or working as a team. Care director does not manage the department well, instead blames and puts more responsibility on other staff (kitchen and medtechs). the medication department is terribly functioning (if you could call it that) without a manager. Working in this community is highly toxic, mentally draining and physically unhealthy and demanding. if you're sick, managers don't care, they will demand you to still work and expect you to find coverage for yourself. doesn't matter how much notice you give for request time off, don't plan on any vacations, your requests will be denied without any reason or acknowledgement unless you are kissing up. This community doesn't acknowledge, doesn't respect good, honest hard working staff. If you're friends with the managers/ kiss up to one or all of them than you will be rewarded, Otherwise you're going to be very unhappy and miserable at this job; which barely pays what you're worth. She is kind, compassionate, accommodating, and genuinely cares about both the residents and their families. During every interaction, she made us feel heard, supported, and valued. Her leadership is reflected in the culture of the entire community. What stood out most to me was the staff in Memory Care. Every single person went above and beyond for my grandma. They were attentive, patient, loving, and treated her with dignity and respect. It never felt like they were simply doing a job--it felt like they truly cared about her as a person. As a family member who spent a great deal of time at the facility, I had the opportunity to get to know many of the caregivers, staff members, residents, and families. The warmth and genuine kindness I witnessed every day was something special. My grandma loved living there. There were always thoughtful activities to bring joy to the residents, from fun events like Mocktail Mondays to musical guests and entertainment throughout the week. The staff work hard to create meaningful moments and a sense of community for everyone who lives there. As my grandma's health declined, the care and compassion shown to her never wavered. Knowing that she spent her final days surrounded by people who genuinely cared about her brings our family an incredible amount of comfort. We will never forget the kindness, patience, and love that was shown to her during that time. To everyone at Oakmont of Carmichael: thank you. We moved my 83-year-old mom to Traditions (Memory Care) here in November 2025 since I live just a…read morefew miles away. This was the third place she had lived in during 2025 and we've finally found a place that we all like! I'm super impressed by the professionalism of the entire staff. The Executive Director, Lyndee, is amazing - friendly & energetic and is always available to answer questions, address concerns, hold an family meeting, or just catch up. All of the front desk staff are always smiling and it's cute how they automatically open the front door for you when they see you about to walk in. The staff in Traditions is on top of it... they check in on mom frequently and encourage her to get out of her apartment and participate in activities. When she declines, they'll visit with her a bit in her apartment to make sure she's doing ok. Linda, Gilda and Erick are standouts that my mom really, really likes (that's saying a lot, too!) They've called me a couple times when mom refuses to take her meds (usually she's confused and thinks she's already taken them) or if she's upset and crying. Since I'm so close by, I can pop over there to help her out and keep her company. I'm so glad mom moved to Oakmont Carmichael and it has relieved a lot of our stress to know that she is so-well cared for!

He took the bus tours, he played (and a force to be reckoned with) Bingo. He started a putting club and got people interested in putting around on a green. He enjoyed the entertainment that came in regularly for "sing song" as he like to say. And he really enjoyed the themed holiday decorations that came out. He felt a part of. The care staff did a fabulous job keeping him informed and with any kind of assistance. When he had a question they were eager to help. Everyone knew his name and he appreciated being recognized and talked to like a friend or family member. Anything he needed was taken care of. Any questions that came up, the staff communicated with our family and were also available to answer any of our questions. The Chef and Dining experience. Oakmont of Fair Oaks did not serve "restaurant" food each day. They served gourmet meals that were very delicious. The staff formed relationships with our father and he came to have a standing order, "the usual". For the holidays we as his family were invited in to share in holiday celebrations. If you appreciate direct and open communication with your questions answered or additional clarification needed from the family. And you value the forming of relationships, personal relationships, Oakmont of Fair Oaks did both of those with our father and my brother and I. My father felt as though he was at home and could spend the remaining months of his life with people who cared about him.

It is hard to even put into words what Walnut House meant to our family over the last seven years…read more My father was not just a resident there, he was genuinely loved, known, cared for, and part of a community. The staff knew him so well that they could tell when something was off before anyone else could. They noticed changes in his mood, his energy, even when his oxygen levels seemed low or he just needed connection or support. More than once, they reached out to me simply because they knew my dad. That level of attentiveness and humanity cannot be taught. It comes from people who truly care. My dad participated in everything he possibly could; bingo, karaoke, bowling, crafts, physical therapy, social events and Walnut House gave him community, dignity, purpose, and joy during a stage of life that can otherwise feel very isolating for seniors. Honestly, he got more out of the daily encouragement and movement from the Walnut House activities and staff than he did from many outside services. Over the years, we also watched the facility continue to improve, renovate, and invest in the residents and environment, which we deeply appreciated. What meant the most to our family, though, was how much they loved my father through the very end of his life. After he passed, Walnut House helped host a memorial so that both staff and the friends he made there could say goodbye to him together. It was incredibly beautiful and something our family will never forget. Thank you to everyone at Walnut House for treating my father like family. We will carry that gratitude forever.

From the first moment I stepped inside Walnut House, I knew it was the perfect fit for my mom because like my mom, everyone there was warm and welcoming. There was nothing institutional or depressing about the place, but an environment with caregivers and guests who seemed to be genuinely happy to be there. My mom was only there a few days when she declared she had found her "forever home." Our family found communication with Walnut House to be excellent. At last, we could sleep peacefully knowing our mom would be safe at night. We expected that, but what we didn't expect was the incredible camaraderie, love, and peace that Walnut House provided during her stay--especially during her final days.
