We even came on a windy day, and it was still a wonderful place to be. It is so spacious that it's the perfect spot to fly kites. A few of us were flying kites together, and it was such a relaxing, heartwarming experience. It's incredibly family and dog friendly, super roomy, and has so much going on. Because it's so clean and well maintained, this might just become the park I bring my kids to most often, and it is definitely a top choice for hosting future family events! It is perfect for a workout, sports activities, or just letting the kids play. I love the layout, especially how they designed the two separate grass areas where one sits at a lower elevation, while the other is level with the rest of the park. But honestly, what really blew me away was the restroom. I know that sounds like an exaggeration, but I'm serious! So many park restrooms are cold, dark, dirty, and lacking privacy. This one felt downright luxurious. It is completely temperature controlled, which was especially nice since it was breezy outside! It was warm, well lit, exceptionally clean, and had absolutely no odor. It even sounded like it had a great ventilation system running. The only minor downside was the lack of toilet seat covers, but that's an easy fix. The entire park feels pretty new with a beautiful, modern design, conveniently located right behind the Sky River Casino. Highly recommend checking it out! Rate: 10/10

CSD keeps the park nice and clean with everything well maintained. The best part is they have an annual 4th of July viewing at this park where the community comes out in lawn chairs and just hangs out. This is one of the great parks in Elk Grove.

Glenn Houde was only the second person to serve as Elk Grove Unified School District Superintendent ! During his 15 year tenure as superintendent, one high school and four elementary schools were built ! Plus many innovations were introduced within the school system. Some being ( zero tolerance behavior policies, modular scheduling and students having to take humanities classes). This is one of the nicer parks in the Elk Grove area. Open play area for multi-purpose use, two separate play areas, one for younger children as well as one for older ones. Two shaded structures with picnic tables in both. One half basketball court., two tennis courts, and a walking path lined with beautiful flowers. A well maintained park that offers so much amenities deserves the highest reward !

Hawkins Park is 4.5 acres in size and is located in the sub-division of Laguna West in the City of Elk Grove. This well maintained park offers local residence year round of activities. The park has a huge open play are for multi-purpose use, portable soccer post that can be moved at any time needed, a small baseball/softball field, one half basketball court, picnic area with picnic tables with a gazebo for shade and a play area with slides, swings and climbing structures. The park also lies along side Laguna Creek Wetlands. Signs are posted in the park not to feed or disturb the wildlife ! A very nice neighborhood park !

But I have noticed that they TRIM the bushes and don't think about the weeds growing in the trail at the entrance at the end of the park. It has been there for more than a month and I see the CSD gardeners trim and cut the grass at the spot where it is. I have thought myself about pulling the weeds for them. Also, I have noticed that the bark in the planters are always kicked out on the sidewalk. I have once tripped on it. Like before, I would bring a big brush next time I go there and put it all in. This park is very great, but there are some cons. For example, the weeds are taking over the Bocce Ball Court (the fake grass at the picnic tables w/chess tables). But, my point is that they need to do a better job at the park gardening instead of just mowing and leaving. But, this park is a very good park, I reccomend coming to this park if you are in the 95757 area.

There's parking and a tip is to park under the solar panels. There's plenty of shade all day! The bathrooms are okay. They get the job done. When I went, only 1 out of the 3 soaps were filled and just a heads up, there's no paper towels. The snack bar opened up later in the afternoon by the softball fields when I attended. We were able to set up a nice picnic under shade near the soccer field. Overall, I highly recommend this park. I didn't even get to explore all of it and I cannot wait to come back to do so.

The picnic area is well shaded by a gazebo and offers picnic tables and BBQ's. This park has many special features you won't find in many other parks. Here you will find a "Full" basketball court ! Restrooms, and a large dog park. So bring the kids and pets and have a wonderful time !
