The place is very welcoming and friendly for kids, and it's a great environment for them to learn coding.

The trial class went well. Great facility and nice teacher. My kid loves it while I am still wondering about the value of its subscription.

Golden Eagle Summer Sports Camp

Golden Eagle Summer Sports Camp

(6 reviews)

My daughter has attended Golden Eagle at the Homestead location for the last two years and she…read moreabsolutely loves it. She's not particularly sporty but I think the games are designed so that they're approachable for everyone, regardless of experience. She also enjoys the crafts and game tournaments. This year she begged me to sign her up for an extra week at the end of summer and also begged to stay for extended care. I think a huge part of her love for Golden Eagle is due to the staff. They're so friendly and they seem to genuinely care about the kids, which is so lovely to see.

Fantastic first-time camp experience, and overall an amazing summer camp! Our 5-year old son had so…read moremuch fun at Golden Eagle this summer!! The camp was very comfortable with our son's nut allergies (held epi pen for emergencies) and I felt he was safe and well-supervised. Counselors and Jr Counselors greeted our son (and other campers) by name every morning with a warm welcome, and said goodbye by name daily as well. My son immediately felt comfortable and reported he had "a great time" every day of camp. The camp day is divided into 45-min periods with a range of fun activities (soccer, dance, recess games, basketball, arts & crafts or chess, etc). Our son loved all the choices! There are larger camp-wide events, popsicles in the afternoons, and theme days. I learned that many of the counselors and staff were once campers themselves. Several shared they had great memories from when they attended camp, and made lifelong friendships. I'm a child psychologist, and camp can be an amazing opportunity for young people to practice independence, build friendships, try new things, develop problem-solving and communication skills, and feel a part of a community. This comes from a safe environment, caring staff, clear structure and expectations, and lots of inclusivity, warmth, and fun. Returning campers and staff are a testament to this great camp. We're already planning on seeing you next year, Golden Eagle!

Northwest YMCA

We've had a great experience at the YMCA. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by friendly staff…read more My husband and I use the gym regularly, and it's always clean. If something needs to be fixed, it's taken care of quickly. The gym has everything you need: machines, a few squat racks, free weights, a Smith machine, and a decent-sized cardio area with a good variety of equipment. The only thing I wish they had is a chest fly machine. There are classes going on all the time, and there's a turf area where your child can play while you work out. The turf has outdoor toys, ride-on vehicles, and large Legos, which is a great setup. We use the kids club for our daughter, and she loves it and always has fun. Childcare was the main reason we chose this gym since no other gyms in Cupertino offer it, and it ended up being an amazing decision. Our daughter also does swim lessons here. Brian is very patient and makes her feel comfortable in the water. She has learned how to float, hold her breath underwater, and is beginning to swim. She used to hate swimming, and now she looks forward to going every week.

I've been going to the Northwest YMCA since 2023. It's nestled away in the heart of Cupertino,…read morebeing less than 5 minutes away from De Anza College. Positives: Weight room has two squat racks that double as deadlift platforms! You can always find a treadmill open and the views of the parking lot, sky, and YMCA lobby are pretty peaceful to look at as you're running or biking. Free coffee every morning. I've never tried it myself, but that is a unique perk only this YMCA has. Chess club meets on Sunday mornings. I had to stop going last year, but when I went it was a ton of fun and open to everyone. Negatives: The men's locker room floor is almost always wet from kids not properly drying off after swimming. It's pretty annoying for gym goers because we are wearing socks that can get wet; that just ruins our day. Weight room has no ventilation and the fan is broken; it can get stuffy in there. Parking lot has shade from like one tiny tree in the very back. If you don't get that spot, your car is going to be under the sun during your entire workout. Overall, I do love this YMCA. I love seeing families and people of all ages, ethnicities, and cultures enjoying their time off work or school. There's always a good vibe here.

This studio has challenged her and she has grown so much to be a better dancer and person. I wish I had moved her to this studio sooner. The teachers and staff are all wonderful. If there is any concerns addressed they do their best to resolve it. When greeting on phone, I believe they should say their name first so It sounds more welcoming. And not so stiff sounding. Especially, since the person on the other end of phone probably doesn't know how sweet the office Staff are.

I have never more happy about a decision I've made. Not only has she drastically improved in just two years, getting a title, scholarships and awards to boot. But, more importantly we've found a new incredible family. These kids and parents all truly care about each other and it's so beautiful. No drama just unbelievable support and great vibes. The teachers are the most amazing humans who truly care about your kid and have a great balance of cheering them on and guiding them to their best potential. I adore every single one of them. They have given my daughter (and I) so much love and support that I'm forever grateful for. I also take their adult classes which has been the most amazing experience for me as well. Yes, it's great fitness and fun. But it has also honestly been such a light in my life on my darkest days and been so great for my mental health. You get the same incredible teachers and amazing supportive community. Who knew one trial class could change our lives so much for the better? Forever grateful for our new family!

She is a great communicator and always kept us up to date on his progress in the program. Sula and her staff facilitated all of my son's homework and made sure they checked his work. They encouraged him to draw and build - to use his imagination. He really enjoyed his time with the students after school - a really diverse set of kids of all ages. Sula is lovely to work with and was accommodating when we needed a camp for our other child during summer break. I'd recommend this program.

GK taught him penmanship, reading, tracing, writing, public speaking, projects, math and what not in less than 6 months, all while keeping it fun and exciting. Ms. Joanna who manages this place and is the program director is simply stellar. Their curriculum is very solid. Ms. Mila is a great teacher along with Ms. Joanna. I had enrolled my son just for kicks, but it turned out to be the best thing for him. I never thought he'd do this well under their guidance and supervision. Don't wait, give Genius Kids a shot if you truly want your kids to excel too, and become a genius!

I was hesitant at first since I'd seen how disinterested my daughter was during her daily zoom meetings with her TK class for the last few months of the school year. I was surprised to see how engaged and excited she was during her first week at camp. She was able to do the camp without me being by her side, which is something I worried from my past experience on her zoom meetings. She occasionally asked for help finding her materials which took a couple mins out of my time. She enjoyed it so much we decided to sign her up for the second week, Explore Hawaii. For this camp she did need help yesterday, building her volcano, and today, making the volcano explode. The teacher emailed us before hand to let us know they would need our help for about 15-20 mins with the time. It was fun to see her reaction during the explosion of the volcano. We all enjoyed it. I highly recommend Camp Captivate. The teachers are super engaging, lots of arts and crafts to keep them busy and the content is age appropriate. I am amazed that my 5 year old is able to do this virtual camp without me being at her side.
