After that experience, I reached out to Code Ninjas and was very open about my concerns regarding my son being excluded or treated differently because of his race. They immediately reassured me that this would be a safe and welcoming space for him and made it very clear that racial discrimination or exclusion would not be tolerated, period. After what we had previously experienced, that reassurance meant so much to me as a parent, and, more importantly, they have consistently lived up to it. My son has always felt welcomed, included, and comfortable here. The staff are incredibly friendly and caring, and I especially want to recognize David and BJ. They have been wonderful with my son and have helped him grow tremendously in his coding skills and confidence. I have always felt comfortable leaving him here knowing that he is safe, respected, and treated like he belongs. Unfortunately, our family has made the decision to move away because of the consistent racism and exclusion we have experienced while living in Fremont. Our move will take us too far away for my son to continue attending Code Ninjas, but otherwise, he absolutely would. I will forever be grateful to David, Vijay , and the entire team. They gave my son a place where he could simply learn, grow, have fun, and be a kid without having to worry about being treated differently because of the color of his skin. That has meant more to our family than they probably realize. They are truly wonderful people, and we wish them and Code Ninjas nothing but continued success.

According to my daughter, Teacher Alex is fun and she clearly explains the functions she's teaching. Every class, she learns a new type of code. The staff, when we used to go to the office/classroom, were always friendly. They're also very accommodating particularly when we need to reschedule classes. My daughter now takes classes online and still with teacher Alex. While they don't see each other in person, the learning experience and quality are still exceptional.

Achiever Institute, the original Achiever after school, is an incredibly special place!…read moreI have worked here for over half a decade, I have seen little kindergarteners turn into graduating 6th graders, and I truly stand by this place whole heartedly. This after school not only focuses on homework and other forms of academics, but they also help children on their character building. The curriculum is well balanced, which I truly enjoy. Achiever Institute offers classes like math, writing, drawing, crafts, recess, Spanish, Chinese, drama, and many more. This is important because not only are these children being taught important academic lessons, but they are also able to express their imaginations and creativity in interesting ways within the classes provided by Achiever. What's quite extraordinary is that not only do they put forth energy to ensure homework is finished and class work is being done, but they also genuinely put the time and effort into teaching their students life long lessons. For example, here at Achiever Institute the staff are also concerned with teaching the students politeness, respecting themselves, their fellow classmates, the staff, other people's feelings, their shared spaces, and so much more! What I also really like is that the staff always communicates with the parents. This is key in my opinion because it is so important to not only be completely aware of everything your child is going through, but also so that you, as a parent, are always kept up to date. Lastly, the summer programs offered by Achiever are like no other! Comparable to the school year's curriculum, they too have a great balance of teaching students necessities and having fun. Both of my kids attending Achiever for after school, and they have been going there for 2 years…read morenow. They enjoy it a lot even requesting to go back there for summer camp, coz they enjoy there so much. The daily schedule for the kids are wonderful, with such a reasonable monthly fee, they even include teaching one kind of musical instrument, Spanish and Chinese on top of the academic enrichment program. My kids never complained about being bored at Achiever. They always asked me to pick them up later so that they can go to those classes. Principal Jim and principal Yuni of Achiever put their heart in this after school. You can tell that they do not only treat the kids or the parents nicely, but also the teachers and TA in Achiever. Unlike any of the other after schools, Achiever has really low turn over rate. Teachers, TAs and even drivers all telling me they enjoy working there. The 2 main teachers there, Teacher Feliza and Teacher Cathy, are really caring teachers, they do not only pay attention to the academic progress for the kids there, they even care about their characters growth. They have great observations of each kid there and help them to excel. Believe it or not, Achiever even offers Parent Teacher conference each year to let us know how our kids are doing academically and socially. TAs working in Achiever are so responsible and they are good with children. They set good examples for the kids there for being polite and caring all the time. The projects she teaches are both challenging and engaging and involve multiple media - drawing, painting, sculpture, origami. My son has made amazing progress in both his skill and creativity.
