Attended a birthday party there and followed up with a summer session for a week. Kids loved it. Great for developing analytical skills.

My boyfriend and I were debating where to get coffee (we're usually Endless Quest people), but…read moresince I've been yelping more, I've been trying to branch out. This spot popped up pretty high, and funnily enough, my boyfriend--who doesn't live locally--had actually heard of it from a previous visit, so we decided to go for it. Right off the bat: huge win on logistics. There's a nearby parking garage with ample space, and parking is free on Sundays and holidays, which already put us in a good mood. The place was packed when we went (Sunday), but in the best way. It's honestly adorable--there's a small playground, multiple seating areas, and everything feels very thoughtfully put together. I don't usually gush over ambiance, but the furniture, layout, and overall warmth of the space really stood out. Cozy without being cramped, lively without being chaotic. There were three people working, one of them quite young, and while we didn't order food, I did get a matcha--and wow. It took a while to come out, but when I saw how they were preparing it, it all made sense. Unlike most high-volume spots that rush matcha, they actually take their time with the full process. The result? Easily top 10 matchas I've ever had. Fresh, clean, energizing in a way that felt genuinely good for my body--not jittery, just right. They do have pastries and a couple of food options, though the savory options didn't really tempt me personally. That said, I'd 100% come back just for the drinks and the space alone. There's just enough white noise to sit and work comfortably, and the ambiance makes you want to stay awhile. This is officially going into my coffee + work rotation.

Upon arriving I realized the namesake is because parents are welcome to bring their kids for a communal play area (which does have an entry fee). The food is definitely better than I remember, but we don't come here for the food. We come because it has space for my kid to run around, games to entertain them, and of course Chuck himself. All she wanted was to cut her cake and spend time there for her birthday. It was glorious that her parents decided to celebrate her birthday on her actual day, so that ended up being a weekday celebration. Parking was plentiful, there was no other birthday celebration. Chuck E. was able to spend time with the birthday girl and the guests, coming out three times. The kids didn't have to wait in line to play any of the games. I know this location is smaller compared to other locations in the surrounding area, but for a kids birthday party, this place works out great. Could the food be better? Sure. The quality of the pizzas is not the same as they once were in the heyday of Chuck E. Cheese. The salad bar had a lot of choices and the ingredients were fresh. My review is to give a special shout out to Maribel, the hostess for the birthday party, She was EXCELLENT!!!! Attentive, professional, friendly and on top of things. Maribel knew what she was doing, getting everything organized and communicating with the parents. Everything was smooth and seamless, in huge part because of her. The guests were commenting that they didnt think a party at Chuck E. Cheese was going to be this smooth, but it can be done with top notch employees. Birthday girl was happy and that's all that matters at the end of the day!

When my friends and I were deep in conversations, I forgot we were in a closed room and it felt like we were sitting at a table in a forest instead! We loved all the fun and pretty details in the woodland room. We loved the other rooms too and appreciate how we were able to walk through all of them, take pics, and play around! We loved all of the food and drinks that were served. We had blueberry scones, tea, lemonade, various finger sandwiches, salad, cheesecake, and sparkling cider. We were able to take home the leftover food and we had plenty to eat between the 6 of us. Denise is friendly and easy to communicate with both via email and in person. I'm so glad I reserved her woodland room for my bridal shower. She made the day feel so special and fun! I would recommend Pretty Tea Parties for anyone interested in doing an unforgettable get together! I hope to book with Denise again for future celebrations! :)

That said, they do offer gluten-free options, and their gluten-free scone was fabulous!

I never in a million years thought I would be writing a five star review for a Chuck E. Cheese. But…read morehere here we are. To be honest, I hadn't been to a Chuck E. Cheese in over 20 years. Probably closer to 30. Has it changed? Kind of. Is it better? Much. The concept is simple. Offer pizza and all kinds of arcade games in a safe and clean atmosphere. Mission accomplished. Apparently there are memberships available, and if you get one, you get a monthly allotment of game credits. Kids get a card that they swipe on each machine. Super handy! First, let me say that the pizza was actually pretty good! I know people probably don't come here for the pizza. But it was actually better than the last couple of pies I've had in my hometown. I didn't try the salad bar, but it looked good and the food on it looked fresh. There were so many things for kids to do. Many were active things and others were more arcade style games. About halfway through our stay, the rat came through in costume and scooped up a bunch of kids and brought them to the dance floor. That was adorable. There was someone cleaning the machines constantly. Everything was very, very clean. This is important because kids are always sick--they don't wash their hands as much as they should and they love to touch their faces. And there were so many kids. The tables were clean. The chairs were clean. The floor was clean. And if you've read my reviews, it's something I look for everywhere I go. Finally, I want to mention security. If you come in with a child, you have to leave with the same child. They have a system in place checking people in and out. Is it perfect? Probably not. But it's not going to be simple for someone to walk out with someone else else's child, or for a child to walk out on their own. Now, would I let my child roam free while I hole up with YouTube videos in a corner somewhere? Nope. No way. I would keep an eye on my kid. But if you have more than one, it's a busy place to keep track of them. It's nice to know that this extra layer of security is there. I was not looking forward to going, to be perfectly honest, but I had a blast. And so did the kids! And here I am leaving a five star review for Chuck E. Cheese!

FUN PASS HOLDERS: Your pass is NOT ACCEPTED…read more On a planned trip to San Jose, I searched for an activity for our daughter. When I saw the size and volume of attractions at Chuck E Cheese San Jose, I knew we had to bring her. I did not think to call ahead or verify my Fun Pass would be honored. CHECK IN: When we arrived to check in, I was informed nothing from the Fun Pass is honored as of November 2025. When I looked at the menu for game play options I was astonished to see the pricing for play. My daughter has the Silver which includes 100 points. Looking to find a comparable play for her, 120 points was $61. When I commented on the prices, the young man at the register - JOSE - informed me of coupons online available to use in store. For $49, we received one large topping pizza, 4 drinks, 2 cotton candy, and 120 play points. I was appreciative of his kindness to share the information and patience with walking me through the steps to obtain the discount. TO GET A DEAL/DISCOUNT: 1. Go to ChuckECheese.com, 2. Select the location (Change your location, top of screen), 3. Top of screen, right of yellow BIRTHDAY button, click on three lines, 4. Select Coupons & Deals Here you will find the deals offered. Some are based on a day, some include food & play, other options include only food or only play. SEATING: There are two floors of seating, with lots of seating options of booth or table/chair within the vicinity of game play or secluded away from the action. We elected for the second level where we could look down to have a greater proximity view of our daughter. FOOD: For the Chuck E Cheese locations we venture in the east bay, I was pleasantly surprised to see a cheesy pizza with a half side of pepperoni almost covering the entirety of each slice - no tomato sauce in sight being hidden by the loads of cheese on top. The food was fresh, mindfully prepared, made with fresh ingredients and satisfied the appetites of three. I refuse to purchase food from Chuck E. Cheese locations as the quality is below subpar, BUT this location is a definite exception to that experience. PLAY: Our daughter, 6, focused mostly on the Toddler Play Area with the carousel, moving car rides, ball toss, claw games for toys and candy, racing with pedals she could reach, an ice cream parlor and other engaging games. The age recommended for the area is 2-8 years. The upper floor possessed arcade games tailored to an older audience like Halo, Mario Kart, lots of shooting and racing games. Typically this is the area our daughter plays as she and I compete against each other, today was different. TICKET REDEMPTION: At the end, she was ready to redeem her points for a prize and selected Kuromi for 6000 tickets. Each 100 ticket increment for a prize is treated as $1, if you need to make the difference of the balance (as I did for our little one) you pay that amount minus the value of tickets had. Our daughter had 2300 tickets ($23 value) and for a 6000 ticket ($60 value) prize I paid the difference of $37. STAFF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I would like to highlight JOSE for his kindness, patience, assistance with our transaction, taking the time to explain the difference between his location versus those we patron in the east bay, and for being an overall person of kindness and beautiful spirit. Thank you Jose for easing the blow of the Fun Pass and turning a potential negative experience into one our daughter truly enjoyed. In the end, our daughter enjoyed herself, we enjoyed each other and did not allow the absence of the Fun Pass to soil our experience. Now I know, call ahead and verify as not every location is corporate owned - San Jose is not.

A significant portion of the space is taken up by food and seating rather than games. Overall, the value just isn't there compared to what you'd expect from the brand.
