If the front is blocked off, go through the back. 2. Pay your fees on time. 3. Be on time. 4. What's said in here stays in here. "If you're going to gossip, tell yo own stuff; it's juicer and more accurate". 5. Participate. 6. No sleeping. 7. Respect other's opinions. 8. Only one person to the bathroom at a time. 9. No food or drinks. Clear water bottles only. 10. Wear appropriate attire. 11. No leaving the building after you enter. 12. No cell phones. 13. No profanity. Little words turn into big words, which turn into sentences. 14. Do not come intoxicated and/or under the influence. TIP#1: 50-75% first time offenders become second time offenders. Make the right choices and learn the first time around. TIP#2: If you're even a minute late, you will not be let into the classroom, will have to do a makeup, and pay a $25 fee. I've seen negative reviews mostly on this business and funny yet it wasn't my first pick. But since I had no other option I had to enroll (given courts timeframe demand although I could've extended it). I was very iffy on the location since it's right next to AmTrak and the location seemed very desolate. They are very stern on scheduling and enrollment (most of the reviews are because of rudeness and poor customer service) so missing an appointment set them and YOU back. A spot that's reserved and drops out affect the other person that needs that spot to meet requirements. As serious as they are, you have a responsibility to uphold your requirements when enrolling with them. They take it just as seriously. Intake is very straightforward, evaluations are done, welfare is considered on personal situations and most importantly meeting the person's court mandated deadline. Aside from payment plans, deposits and flexible ways to pay... you must follow the conditions set. When I started my first lesson it was a very valuable experience to remember. They care about you but if you waste your time let alone theirs well consider it "touché.

Yes they are strict about attendance, participating, rescheduling fees, etc. but, hey, you sign a contract with all the rules stated and if you don't follow them it's not their fault. Grow up! I showed up every week from 6-9 PM for ten weeks and it wasn't always easy to get home on time for the meeting or to sit for three hours on a zoom meeting. Overall I found everyone at DPI to be genuine and truly interested in helping people be more responsible drivers. The class was never punishing or shaming. My facilitator was Karen. She was fun, kind, and had good boundaries but was not super strict. I found the discussions and videos interesting. Let's just say I expected a bad experience and was planning to learn to meditate with my eyes open to get through it! The other students were interesting and fun. If there's a problem she's the one to contact and she'll get back to you quickly with the answer. She's also very patient with those who aren't completely happy at the prospect of spending a year or more with her and her co-workers. She tells people that when it's done we'll miss them. She might be right. But only in her case. Carl has been there a long time and I imagine he's seen and heard it all. During a two hour session he doesn't really seem to care about the topic of conversation. Just keep talking otherwise he'll bring out the standard literature. He seems to quietly acknowledge that to the extent that this is a "DUI school", school is out after only 8 weeks and the many months that follow are therapeutic to some but punitive to all. If you're going to be stuck with someone for 9 or 18 months there are worse people to be stuck with. Tony is diehard AA and fond of extrapolating his life experiences into yours. Or just talking about his life experiences. You'll soon get to know his family's personal details better than those of Kim Kardashian's except that you can turn off the TV when you're sick of the Kardashians. If you feel that AA might be appropriate then Tony is the one for you. You'll get everything but a chip at the end of the meeting. Frederique is not there that often which is a good thing. Time recently spent in Paris had convinced me that the French weren't as awful as they're made out to be but I've since changed my mind, at least in her case. Better to collect trash on the roadside than spend an hour with this woman.

For example, today, Friday, Jan. 11th, the preface; I have called their office 20+ times (incl. Maria Vega's vm) and have yet been able to talk to anybody. According to their answering machine, their office hours are 10-7 M-Thu and 10-3 on Friday. I called at 9:40 AM and left a voicemail. I called 3 times at around 11:30AM I called 10 times between 12 and 2 PM. I called 4 times between 2 PM and 2:15 PM Oh and on Google it says they close at 2:30 PM today.. All I need for them to do is fax my updated file to another program, since when I went out of my way to go to Marin County in person to request my file faxed, they faxed an out of date file. Now, I'm trying to enroll in class in time to be able to get my license to be able to move out for school, just to be told that they have the wrong information. The program that has the right information (Marin County Dui Program), unfortunately, is not available to pick up the phone all business day and won't be available all weekend, and as always, it is (in this case, me) the customer getting the short end of the stick with their screw up. I have a lawyer waiting to go to court for me, I have a life I'm actively trying to pursue, and this program is abusive in its privilege, since it's the only program available in beautiful, bountiful Marin, and knows that many customers have to settle for convenience sake (let alone how hard it is to find any readily digestible information, alone. It's like they want this process to seem overtly complicated, mysterious and tedious so you have to rely on a monopolized system that can take advantage of you bc at this point, what other option do you have within the constraints of the courts?). If you're doing three months, just get it over with and never come back. If you're doing an extended program, I highly recommend commuting to another program if possible. This is too serious and important a matter, and I've spent way too much money as it is, for this to not be taken more professionally.

A letter a wrote to Civil Rights Department of California…read moreHuman resources of San Francisco and The supervisor of Mission Council San Francisco Louis, I am submitting a complaint regarding discrimination and misconduct I experienced during a DUI/recovery class with Mission Council on September 22nd 2025, Monday. The class was scheduled from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Around 3:15, I was disconnected from Zoom due to poor signal. After waiting in the lobby and not being admitted back in, I called the office twice for assistance. The second time, the office staff contacted Mr. Ennis Johnson, who eventually let me back into the class. Once I rejoined, Mr. Johnson began reprimanding me, saying I should not call the office and should "just wait in the lobby." I explained that this program is critical for my freedom and I was worried about losing credit for the session. Instead of addressing this, Mr. Johnson became combative and dismissive. He told me not to tell him what to do and stated, "I don't have the DUI, you do." He then made racist and derogatory remarks, calling me "ghetto" and incorrectly labeling me as "Hawaiian" (I am Samoan). These comments were discriminatory, humiliating, and completely inappropriate, especially in a mandated recovery program setting. Mr. Johnson continued to press me until I placed myself on mute. He eventually muted me himself, told me to "go ahead and report [him]," and then disconnected me from the class, this took place in front of 10 other participants on zoom. After this, I contacted the office again and spoke with Supervisor Roberto Alfaro, who directed me to Executive Director Luis Aguirre. While Mr. Alfaro told me I would receive credit for the class, no information was given on how Mission Council would handle this complaint or prevent such discriminatory treatment from happening again. I am requesting a formal investigation into Mr. Johnson's conduct, confirmation that my class credit is protected, and assurance that no participant will be subjected to discriminatory remarks in the future. (It didn't help that the night before I was scheduled to go to traffic school I was informed that most good insurance companies won't raise your rates at all after one speeding ticket.) I guess this is the perfect job for you if you love to hear yourself talk, if you think you are an absolute crack up, if you enjoy making cultural slurs and know very little about actual traffic laws. Oh! And you have to be really good at collecting $33 (exact change) from each person in a jam packed banquet room of suckers... like me. The only thing he had going for him was the fact that he was incredibly flamboyant. (God I hope he knows.) That flavor was his only redeeming quality. Otherwise, it was one annoying habit after another. Like repeating the word "hate"... Oh I hate it when drivers cut me off! I just HATE it when drivers don't thank me when I've been courteous. I totally HATE the way drivers in Monterey drive right next to you on the freeway. Blah blah hate blah blah hate. Or how about the way he called every female "hunny" and every male "bro". Yeah you and I are practically best buds, guy! There were several basic traffic laws he didn't know. There are some real dumb drivers out there. They need basic answers to questions like: "What if I'm driving behind a slow tractor that's pulled all the way over onto the shoulder-- can I pass it even if there's a solid line?" Or how about, "Is it legal to hit a pedestrian if they're crossing without a crosswalk?" Yeah. Really. I did take away one very useful gem though. If you are cited for a DUI or any serious moving violation and the po-po can prove you attended traffic school, it can be used against you in court. It proves you knew the law because you passed a self-graded true/false 10 question "exam". Damn. What a racket. Two stars for his enthusiasm and that awesome lisp. BTW this was held at Casa Munras Hotel in Monterey which was real nice as well as close to Wild Plum for lunch. The bar, however, should have been open. A spicy Bloody was certainly in order.

Traffic school is very long 8 hours, but I think compared to other traffic schools time went by very quickly. The only problem was that the breaks were very short and I was very tired at the very end. But overall it was not so bad and it was $33 dollars.

It's with disappointment that I'm updating my review of Mission Valley ROP, and deducting a star…read more As a graduate of American High School and Mission Valley ROP, having taken 3 different courses through ROP, and even earned college credit in one of them, I felt fortunate to have had the pleasure of taking Business Ownership, Marketing, and Law Enforcement. However, it has come to my attention, that the current students at American High are currently without an Instructor for Culinary Arts, therefore the students are being "taught" by "substitutes". I get that teacher shortages are happening everywhere, and we are just getting through a global pandemic, but at the same time it's not like the previous Instructor Chef Rosen, decided to retire last minute. They knew well in advance, and you would think they would have been able to get an instructor before the school year started. If for some reason, they weren't able to find an instructor, which seems to be the case now, why even offer the course this year at all until an instructor is found? I've heard that students are trying switch out of the class and into other classes because they don't have an instructor, and are still being taught by substitutes. It's such a shame many of these students who are seniors, many of which who are coming out of distance learning, signed up for Culinary Arts, yet are being taught by substitutes. They probably aren't even being taught much or learning much about Culinary Arts. I hope Mission Valley ROP is doing everything they can to get a qualified instructor to teach Culinary Arts at American, as there are 4 Culinary Arts classes and 1 Event Planning course offered at American. If anything, perhaps they should ask Chef Rosen to come back until a permanent instructor can be found? Just to show the impact of taking an ROP class, not only did I earn College Credit for one of the courses I took, to this day, I still stay in touch with one of my instructors, Sergeant Crawford. Unfortunately, the other instructor I had, Mr. Gary Marsh sadly passed away a few years ago.

Once I graduated I attended CCA in San Francisco and continued to go on a internship in Walt Disney World. Now only two years out of high school I'm being trained as a head line cook in a restaurant in Niles, California. None of this would of happened without Chef Mike with his guidance and teachings.
