Spizzy is a bit out of the way for me, but I was really craving an acai bowl, so I decided to check it out. When I arrived, I was told they were actually temporarily closed to get their freezer fixed. I had some errands to run, and then decided to circle back. They were open again, thankfully, so I got the acai bowl. It was really good, but I thought it was pretty small for the price. The space is clean, and there is plenty of seating if you want to eat there.

Really great establishment! I was greeted warmly upon entry. I went with the Fort Washington Waffle with strawberries blueberries and pecans . The smell was amazing. Is that vanilla? Cinnamon? Yes! And brown sugar! It honestly didn't even need the maple syrup.

This restaurant is the perfect example of how what was meant for evil can be used to your advantage. A few weeks before my visit, some spiteful person busted the front window of this business. That story made its way to my Instagram feed. I had never heard of this business before, so I looked it up on Yelp and honestly, it looked like a pretty dope spot. I hadn't had breakfast yet, so I hopped in my car and made my way over to check them out. I love how this place is unapologetically PG County proud! Most of their menu items are named after different cities within the county. I also appreciate that this restaurant has a number of vegetarian and vegan friendly options. My dad is vegan(ish), and I enjoy putting him on to new places or bringing him delicious meat-free meals and snacks to try. For breakfast I ordered the Upper Marlboro smoothie (with coffee, oatmeal, banana, and dairy-free milk), the chickpea and lentil Caribbean patty, and the "Beltsville" turkey and cheese panini. The first sip of the smoothie definitely caught me off guard... It was VERY different then any smoothie I've ever had before, but it got better as I drank more of it. I couldn't help feel like something was missing though. Maybe peanut butter or chocolate would help tie all of the flavors together. I think it would be better with one or both of those ingredients included. The Beltsville Panini was okay, but there was literally one slice of deli turkey on it. One. I know the cost of everything is going up but come on y'all. One slice of turkey? It had mustard and pickles on it as well ,which was definitely a shock to the taste buds so early in the morning, but it wasn't bad. But it was the chickpea and lentil patty for me!!! I want another one right now just thinking about it. The filling was so well seasoned and the crust was that chewy, flaky texture that I love. A fantastic vegetarian alternative to Jamaican beef patties.

Came here for a quick morning snack before my hike & was not disappointed ! I got a customised smoothie w mango & berries & the vegan waffle . I asked for strawberries & pecans on the waffle & they forgot the pecans , but the waffle was still really good ! It's fully w a hint of cinnamon . The customer service was great , too ; the people back there will make sure you leave satisfied . I will definitely be back to try the vegan panini :)

Fresh, healthy smoothies, teas, breakfast, snacks, and paninis. I was greeted unpin entry. I don't come to this ate often. But who I do, I definitely pick up a smoothie or açaí bowl. Interior is a vibe. I love the music and beautiful mural.

I didn't know what to get but the guys at the counter recommended the Largo so I got that - mango and pineapple. I was jot disappointed. It seems as if their smoothies are mostly pineapple based which is very different from other shops. I absolutely love that their smoothies are named after PG County cities. It's nothing like a home grown business. 10/10 would recommend. They were all out of merch when I came so I have to go back.

Spizzy offers a refreshing take on healthy options, with their delicious smoothies stealing the show. I tried "The Forestville" and found it to be both tasty and satisfying. However, the beef patties left something to be desired; they appeared dry and unappetizing. Despite this, the quick service in an empty restaurant was a plus. Overall, Spizzy is worth a visit for their flavorful smoothies, but perhaps pass on the beef patties. Also a BOB so definitely supporting!

I've had a great experience each time I visited. It's cool to be able to pick up local merchandise and see other businesses being supported while waiting for your order. I picked up a t-shirt during my first visit and I like the quality. During one of my visits I was able to meet an owner of Spizzy and she was very friendly. It was nice to hear her suggestions and receive her help picking my next smoothie to try. I also appreciated the notification about their variety of add-ons like tumeric, ginger and spinach if I felt that a smoothie needed a boost. It's nice to know that you have those options. The smoothies are fresh and all-natural with no sugar added which is great because other smoothie shops have a variety of ways of sneaking in sugar by calling it different names or adding additives. I am happy to see another black owned business surviving and thriving during these times. I found out about Spizzy through my church and was drawn in by their commitment to serve good food and good vibes, which they deliver with each visit.

Blown away with the freshness of this smoothie. No additives, no fillers, all fruit! I placed my order online and picked up my drink in less than 10 minutes. This place needs a 5 star. Plain and simple. I've been back here so many times, I can't even count. They're exceptional. Their staff is so kind, and always brightens my day. Food is fresh and made when you get there. I can't get enough of their Patties, could eat them for days! Seriously, stop in here for breakfast or lunch! And get a smoothie while you're at it. Pros: - The establishment is in PG County Maryland and is black owned - They are pretty quick, even during a rush - The smoothies are natural and don't taste artificial like Smoothie King and other competitors Cons: - The main con is that their smoothie combinations aren't the best. I have yet to find one that I love. I wish they had an option to create your own. read more

Love this place! We tried it for the first time today. Ordered two açaí bowls, a smoothie, and a Caribbean pie. Super yummy. Incredibly healthy. The place had all the vibes and solid art work. Definitely a good place to be in. The owner and all working there were super helpful. This is going to stay on our list of go to spots when we are in MD. read more

Stopped by to support this Black business today. I was very pleased. It's a small space so be patient because you have to keep your distance. You may have to wait before you can enter the store. Order online if you can. The banana toast was delish with just the right amount of almond butter, bananas and cocoa nibs. The kale and callaloo patties were very good! That crust was so flaky. One of them had some heat too it. Sorry, I can't remember which one tho. The Bowie smoothie was good and had the combo of berries just right. I will be a repeat customer! I've been here twice and I will continue to come back again and again. They have plenty of parking and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. Walking in you hear good music and the decor is great. I've only tried one thing lol but the Landover Açaí bowl is delicious. The bowl is so good I started buying it for other people without them asking lol. I will be back (today) to try more things. Thank you!! read more

My fellow reviewers were the catalyst for my visit. Every single person raves about the food, and the stellar customer service they received. I have been made a believer! I did an online order (around 2:30pm) and my order said it'd be ready 20 minutes from then. I walked into the store, full of R&B music, laughter and beautifully appointed murals to be greeted by multiple masked gentleman. It was "Queen" this and "sis" that, with such enthusiasm! Food was ready, and although they were out of lentil patties, I opted for kale. Also, purchased the apple/kale salad and two smoothies (the Bowie and Largo). Now, I don't eat beef patties or any other for that matter, but I gave it a try. Y'all, I am hooked! I will be back for that kale patty, and hopefully the lentil one. Sorry. I inhaled it before taking a pic lol. It was so FLAKY, and perfectly seasoned. I'm literally salivating! The Largo smoothie was mine and it was expertly blended...no lumps, no sour taste, and not overly sweet. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. You won't be disappointed! I was greeted as soon as I entered through the door. Spizzy was very clean and inviting. I ordered my drink through the app and it ready as soon as I arrived. I ordered the Oxon Hill smoothie with a couple of add ons. Although my smoothie was good I was disappointed by the few options of smoothies, but it's probably due to Covid-19, I get it. My daughter and I were in the mood for a healthy alternative smoothie today so we stopped by Spizzy. The customer service was excellent! The exterior mural was beautiful depiction of strong black women, like myself! We ordered 2 Clinton smoothie strawberries, bananas, and pineapples. The smoothies were delicious! The fruit was fresh not frozen. No artificial sweetness. All pure goodness! The waffle was surprisingly soft, fluffy, and flavorful considering it was vegan. I had never ever had anything vegan that tasted sooooo good. I honestly could not taste a difference between a regular waffle vs. vegan waffle. The strawberry topping and the syrup on the waffle added that extra pop to the waffle. I strongly recommend everyone to visit this establishment and support this business because it's a winner!!!! read more

If your a Proud PG County Native such as myself then you'll love Spizzy! I really liked how the menu is named after different cities in PG County, I had to get the Capitol Heights Black Tea! I also got the Forestville Smoothie and Fort Washington Waffle, both were good and no complaints. I ended up spending about $25 for 2 teas, 1 smoothie, and a waffle. I will say it felt a tad overpriced but it helps knowing its a local small business. Great Customer Service! And, the fact that they sell locally sourced merchandise is also a plus to me. read more

I am in love. I decided to finally try Spizzy after running some errands today. It was BOMB AF. I got the Forestville smoothie for myself and Camp Springs Vanilla milkshake for my daughter. They were really good: creamy and delicious. The cod fish and callaloo and kale patties were delicious. We enjoyed everything and on top of that, the service was great. 10/5 Went back today and tried their shrimp and crab pasta and my boy had the veggie pasta. The shrimp and crab is VERY flavorful, well-seasoned, good amount of shrimp but I'm not sure where the crab was. Def no lump (not that they said there would be) and I didn't taste back fin or even imitation crab. Perhaps mine was a one-off, but I would suggest they focus on that a little more. So I really want to love this place. The first time I went I ordered a smoothie bowl and two patties. I went inside and ordered. The second time I ordered online and they called me and said "we don't know how you ordered these items because we are sold out. Please come into the store for a refund". So I was in the car waiting about 15-20 minutes for a cancelled order. I said okay it's Monday maybe they are recovering from the weekend. I ordered online on another day ... I go in to pickup and they say "oh we are out of the chickpea patty that I ordered. My smoothie bowl was also in a smoothie cup. I really would like them to do better because I really enjoy the food. This place is great!! I have had the Clinton and Forestville. They were both delicious. I also had the seafood salad. It was okay. Too much relish. But the service here is on point!!! I came around noon today. The gentleman that took my order and the gentleman who made the smoothies were so kind and helpful. It's hard getting great service in this area. We were out on a grocery run and a sign for a smoothie spot caught our eye. We decided to give Spizzy a try in place of the breakfast we were planning to have. My husband had a plain strawberry smoothie while I tried the Forestville (mango, strawberry). All smoothies are dairy free . We tried to convince our 8 yr old to try one but was unsuccessful. We did convince her to give the Fort Washington Waffle a try (vegan) - which she loved! This is huge for our usual picky eater. We'll be back for sure. Note: this isn't your in and out spot. Everything is made to order and may take a few minutes; which I appreciate. Be patient, kick back and enjoy the vibe. read more

The smoothies are pretty good! But I will say the service really breaks this place. We've been here twice and one time we came before our online order time. The guy at the front said "well the time says 12:15 so you have to wait", we got there at 12:10. So we learned our lesson and the next time didn't get there til the time (12:15) and when we got there, they barely started it, making us wait even though we preordered. It just felt pointless even ordering ahead so I'd suggest not doing that. read more
