Wonderfully charming Italian restaurant in Doral just off of the Florida Turnpike. Very comfortable seating inside and a beautiful outdoor dining patio. The pizzas are made in a traditional brick oven and the flavors are absolutely delicious. There's a small full bar inside that serves amazing cocktails. The menu is diverse with something for every taste. The staff is friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and above all else, they are super helpful. The parking can be a bit of a challenge during peak hours, but it's well worth it. I definitely recommend it. read more

Decided to check out this place as few months prior I visited their sister comp Gustos. I will say their risotto was divine, if I come back this would be a dish I'd order again. I was in the Doral area and wanted to try a different spot. Found Spizzigo and we arrived before I ready any Yelp reviews. I will say based off of everything I read, they have fixed any issues and now warn you about the bottled water and bread. At least our server did. So don't go solely based off of that. The restaurant is not large but they also have outdoor seating. We sat inside and we're seated right away. To drink I ordered their speciality berry mojito and it was sweet but good. You could taste the alcohol in it. To eat I ordered a saporita pizza (meat lovers) which I feel is large enough to split amount two people but since I'm a huge pizza fan I ate it all myself. The pizza is more thin crust New York style which I loved because it doesn't fill you up as much. My wife ordered the pear pizza with honey which was also very good but too sweet for my taste. She loved it though. Our friends ordered the Hawaiian and also loved it. The ingredients tastes fresh and the pizza was cooked to a perfect light golden brown. The servers were friendly and our food was brought out in a timely manner. I even saw the owner working and bringing plates to the tables. As a Yelp member once you check in it gives you the option of a free desert (tiramisu). However the restaurant refused to honor it. We were full either way so I wasn't going to argue but I did tell the owner when we were leaving that he should remove it if he's not going to honor it. It's misleading but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, hopefully it was an honest mistake and he removes it. read more

I had a Milanese style risotto with asparagus and shrimp. Perfectly executed. Shrimp added at last minute, barely cooked through so they glistened, asparagus properly flushed so as to complement and not dominate. I ate inside, traffic light for a Saturday night though I sat down at 9 pm. Service terrific. This trattoria is a neighborhood gem: big table available on the patio al fresco. Inside, though small, has a nice white tablecloth vibe without the shock to one's wallet one might expect for food of this quality. As a reviewer, I have given very few 5 ratings (if any). 5 means perfect: Taillevent in Paris was perfect. But I have not dined there in 20 years or more, so who knows. When I visited, the inside was being remodeled, so there was only outside seating I had no problem with this, as the outside is decorated very neat and cute. However, I wish the service was better. I felt like I had to flag down the waiter each time I needed something. But at the end of the dinner, we order two cups of water, and they refused to give us the water because they said that they only sell bottles of water. The pizza is large and good enough for a group, but I had it on my own. The place has good appetizers, the meatballs and spaghetti is also one of the best. We are a big fan of this place. This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. Let's me start by pointing out that the staff here is wonderful. We had a server that was so attentive and nice. He had wonderful recommendations. I have posted pictures of all of our delicious meals. The sangria was just the right amount of alcohol. Spizzigo has the potential for a much higher star rating. It has a large variety of tasty coal fired pizzas, salads and gelato. Parking is plentiful in a shopping plaza. It's next to a Spanish club, making it perfect to carb up after happy hour. But a few key factors hold it back. I stopped by after attending the aforementioned club for a hearty comfort Italian meal and was ready to give it at least 4 stars! The bruschetta was served on four sizeable baguette pieces with a good drizzle of tomatoes and an original presentation of melted mozzarella cheese on a bed of fresh greens. I did have to ask a couple of times for the balsamic vinegar, even though the dinner crowd was thinning out. Next up was a large Caprese salad - again fresh ingredients, nice presentation. The waitress stopped by and I told her I was almost ready for my personal pizza. That's were the delay started. I had to ask at least 3 times for my pizza to be brought to me. I wasn't going to be trashy and grab it from the kitchen counter even though I could see it from my table. Yes, that my pizza sat there awhile after being brought out of the oven. Still it was tasty and arsty, with canned corn added to the toppings of Hawaiian pizza. The wait did zap some of the crispiness of it adding to another brief wait to get utensils. The pizza was good, we might have ordered more but we were rushed. We tried to order the free Tiramisu from check in but they wouldnt honor it because the kitchen was closed. Not sure what there is to cook on a tiramisu to go, it was 11:20! My guess is that they arejust cheap and used it as an excuse. This hits a pet peeve of mine, if you close at 11, then put that on your sign. If you're open till midnight, be open till midnight.
