It's a Neapolitan pizza. I rate it as "good" because it's not a bad product nor did they mess anything up but I'm not a fan of Neapolitan. It's exactly as a typical Neapolitan usually is. Cracker crisp edges, soft center, very thin & at least two dollars more expensive than a regular NYC style pie. Also, I could be wrong but the tomato sauce might be premade/canned tomato sauce. I always feel ripped off every time I buy a Neapolitan pizza but if I suspect it's premade tomato sauce then it just adds insult to injury lol. I know a lot of these premade sauces use HFCS & I've been off anything with it for over two weeks now & since the pizza places where I oder from all use their own house sauce which I usually eat almost every week, it's weird that the next night after eating this pizza I'm feeling hungrier. I ordered an Italian sub from this restaurant via the Slice app. Piccola Italia didn't send a confirmation text to acknowledge the order for more than 10 minutes, then messaged saying they were busier than usual and my order wouldn't be ready for another 15 to 30. That seemed like a lot of time for a simple sandwich, but whatever. I drove there expecting it to be "busy", but when I arrived the place was deserted and there weren't even any visible staff! After a few minutes a guy came from the back, didn't seem to be in a hurry and handed me my food. Mine and one other seemed to be the only 2 orders this "busier than usual" restaurant had. My Italian sub was supposed to come with ham, salami, provolone cheese, lettuce and dressing. I bit into the sandwich and it tasted off. I quickly found out why - it was LOADED with several slices of orange, cheap American cheese - the heavily processed stuff you get at Publix for something like $2.00 for 12 slices. Horrible! I opened the sub and picked out the gobs of American cheese which have no place at all on any Italian food, much less a hoagie and it tasted better, but it wasn't easy to pick out because they'd baked it and all the processed orange cheese was stuck to everything else. read more

Just got our food delivered and found a giant fly just sitting on our garlic foccacia bread. We've ordered from this place tons of times and we love the food, but this giant fly disgusted us so much that we couldn't eat the other items we ordered. This hole in the wall has a Jekyll and Hyde personality conflict of interest sensibility. Sure it has a local standing and following in the community, but there is much to be desired in its totality. Lasagna: 4 Stars - light, fluffy flavorful Chicken Parm Sandwich: 3 stars - chicken breaded and marinara sauce on Point but bun was not toasted or crunchy. I like to think I'm a pretty fair reviewer/Yelper. I don't always leave negative reviews, but when I do I wait till I've exhausted all patience with an establishment before taking to the review board and letting the world know about my less than satisfactory experience. The Management of Piccola Italia worked extra hard to make sure my patience wore thin in just the few minutes I was on the phone with them regarding my lunch order just the other day. On April 29th, I ordered lunch for myself and two (2) others from Piccola Italia. Normally, the service is okay but the quality of the pasta is what has kept me a repeat customer. Due to COVID-19, I placed the order online for delivery. We selected three (3) pastas: Farfalle with crab and pink sauce ($11.50), Ravioli with shrimp and marinara sauce ($12.99), and a Fettuccine with chicken parm, marinara sauce and extra mozzarella cheese($11.49). We added a Tiramisu for dessert. Now, the first issue was when we received the charge to my credit card, it was more than what I had anticipated paying, based on the pricing above which is what is shown on the Piccola Italia Miami website. Please see the attached receipt received after the fact for reference to what was actually charged. The taxes, included the calculation of the delivery fee as well, which I don't believe is fair or ethical. When I called the restaurant to review the receipt (because the delivery didn't include it, shocker), the Restaurant Manager named ERIC, stated very condescendingly that the extra fees were due to the credit card company charging the customer directly and not the business. Then, when I brought up the price differences on the receipt versus what is still (even to this day) being advertised on the restaurant's website, ERIC stated even more unprofessionally that "the website doesn't get updated daily so I was charged correctly based on the updated price". I mentioned that this was false advertising and if he did not honor the prices shown on the website, I would report him to the BBB. He replied with a chuckle and a "do whatever you want" before he proceeded to hang up on me. If it wasn't for the quality of the food at Piccola Italia, I would have ended my patronage to this business a long time ago based on the lack of customer service received here. Restaurant Manager Eric needs a serious refresher on how to deliver customer service and manage a business that flourishes on the revenue it generates from the public. In current times when the whole world is facing a pandemic together, it's businesses like Piccola Italia that need the most help. Unfortunately, they will not be receiving my business again after this horrendous experience. read more

Limited seating and a counter in the front that is in front of the kitchen so you can view some of the pizza making process. I ordered a pizza and some garlic beard. The garlic bread was actually really good. The pizza however was my fav. They allow you to put seafood on the pizza. Not just anchovies, but scallops, crab and oysters; which is pretty sweet. What happened to Piccola Italia? Did the chef have a bad night? Or perhaps had the night off? Heaven forbid the chef no longer works there. All I know is that the pasta we bought was pretty tasteless. The bolognese sauce was good, the pasta was cooked Al dente but the Alfredo sauce tasted nothing like the last time I bought it.
