The calamari where crunchy and we great flavor, we also ordered the ruota linguine and WOW it was my favorite tasty but not too strong just perfect balance and we also tried a margarita pizza and a Hawaiian pizza, you can taste the fresh ingredients and that everything is homemade! Came here on a Friday night around 630PM and though it wasn't full I would suggest you make reservations wince it did eventually get full by the time we finished. The ambiance is fantastic with the open kitchen and the friendly staff. They do aim to please the customer. We had the Mussels and Antipasi for appetizers and both were very good. I ordered the Fruti de Mare with Linquini and the tomato sauce was spot on. The squid ink Risotto was also very good. Finally we had the Picanha and Argentinian chorizo and both were excellent. What impressed was that I ordered simple dishes and all were well executed. We finished with the Tiramisu and cheesecake and both were very good as well. We came to this place this evening randomly, looking for a place to have dinner. We were greeted at the door by Andrea that seated us and also waited on us for the evening. We enjoyed a Negroni and a smoked old-fashioned cocktail before dinner. We ordered a beef carpaccio appetizer that was very good. We then ordered their specialty pasta dish that lived up to his expectations. We had a glass of Malbec to complement the meal. The service was really off and our bread got to the table after our appetizers but before our food. Every time we needed more water I had to call somebody because all the staff was talking and laughing behind the counter. The food was ok not really good and not bad . Made a same day reservation for 5 for dinner. There is both inside and outside seating. Inside is a nice industrial decor. The A/C was definitely working because it was cold inside. The staff was dressed in Halloween costumes and a few wore masks. Ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and a Calzone. The Calzone was very good. It was filled with ham, mushroom & cheese. The crust was good and the marinara sauce was great. You can tell that the ingredients are fresh and meals made from scratch. Service was good until we were ready to leave. It took forever to get our waiter to bring the check. We asked someone else and they let the waiter know, but he literally walked past our table several times without even acknowledging that he knows we needed him. Aprile Restaurant in Midtown Doral has been bookmarked for a while now. I pass by this place a lot more than I used to and it can easily be seen when driving down 107th Ave. The dining area is fairly visible from the outside and draws more than enough attention to itself. We drove into Midtown Doral and parking was free. Most of Midtown Is still not open for business. The construction had completely finished, but the businesses have yet to open except for a few. Most are still "coming soon" and that doesn't seem to change. Walking through Aprile Restaurant, the modern interior was welcoming and very well done. It's one of those places that you get excited to try and sure seems like you've found a "gem." The menu appeared to have a lot of great options for an Italian, Mediterranean cuisine. I had a hard time choosing. The complimentary bread was served warm and toasted along with two spreads: olive and tomato. The olive spread was my favorite here and I thoroughly enjoyed this free dish. Unfortunately, it was the best thing served all night. The Fondue Burger and Classic Burger were both ordered to be cooked Medium. Both burgers turned out very well done. This was either a mistake or it means that their "well done" will come out overly done, but this won't be for me to find out. Also, one of the fries were ordered as truffle fries which had no taste of truffle at all. The fries were actually pretty good. They were hot and crispy, but definitely no truffle was coming out of that. However, the fries were better than the burgers which were fairly bland. I expected a lot more especially from that Fondue Burger. My Mushroom Chicken looked promising and was served on a bed of sauce underneath it. The texture of the chicken was really tender on some parts. Key word "some parts." The rest of it was pretty normal and not tender at all. As far as flavor, I wish it had more of it. It was pretty bland. Overall, beautiful restaurant with bland food does not entice me to return especially at the price we paid. As far as the language barrier, knowing a little bit of Spanish goes a long way here. They don't speak English here although they understand it. Went for my birthday dinner not knowing anything about the restaurant besides that it was Italian. The place is casual, nothing special about the setting. Tried their passion fruit mojito to start which was refreshing and sweet. Overall the food was good but nothing extraordinary, and they need to do better bringing it out. The timing is definitely way off. We were brought one plate of pasta for one person, we were seven at the table, and nothing else for anyone for a few minutes. No cheese or pepper offered until we asked either. My pasta was not hot when it came. We asked for extra bread and that never arrived. Someone accidentally spilled a cocktail and no refill was offered. I feel like they can definitely improve a lot on the service. We were left with no water for a long time with no acknowledgement from our waitress. What makes it worse is that they automatically include tips on the bill. In my experiences this is usually a red flag as restaurants that do this tend to lack in service and they were not short staffed. Plates are between 11-30$ per person. They offer different options on drinks like cocktails, wines, beers, etc. A tried the chilcano mule that is similar as Moscow mule but with pisco and with passion fruit.
