It's easy to celebrate a great first visit, but what really stands out is when an owner takes feedback seriously and earns a second chance. That doesn't happen nearly as often as people think. I visited Spirit Made Cakes a while back, and if I'm being honest, I left feeling underwhelmed. The experience just didn't live up to what I had hoped for, so I left an honest review reflecting exactly that. Shortly after, the owner reached out personally. There were no excuses, no defensiveness, just a genuine desire to make things right. I told them I would eventually come back and give them another opportunity because everyone deserves a chance to improve. I'm glad I did. We stopped in on a Wednesday around 5:30 p.m., and the difference was immediately noticeable. The staff was welcoming from the moment we walked in. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and efficient without making us feel rushed. The entire visit felt smoother and more polished than my first experience. The tiramisu was the highlight of the visit. It had the classic flavors I was hoping for, with a nice balance of coffee, mascarpone, and cocoa that didn't lean overly sweet. It tasted authentic, and that's not always easy to find around Clovis. It was the kind of dessert that reminded me why tiramisu has become such a timeless favorite. We also tried the red velvet cake. While it wasn't my personal favorite item, it was still enjoyable. The cake was moist, the frosting was well done, and I can absolutely see why it would be someone else's go-to order. Not every dessert has to be your favorite to recognize that it's made well. I think it's important to update reviews when businesses put in the effort to improve. Too often, people only come back to leave another negative review, but rarely return to acknowledge positive change. Spirit Made Cakes earned that recognition from me. I'm happy to say they've won me back as a customer. It takes humility to listen, commitment to improve, and consistency to change someone's opinion. I have been here multiple times and tried different items from bakery. We liked their cinnamon rolls and coffees. Interior is nicely designed but I don't like dine in there cause it's all pink and it feels like it's only meant for females seating LOL, i always wanted to enjoy my coffee in there but because of the interior always doing a to go. Some other items like basic berry tarts are too expensive for its size to be honest, if you compare it with Whole Foods tarts which is always fresh again. One disappointment I had with this business was when I picked up cake for the birthday for around $55 but we couldn't eat it at all cause it's tasting all either cheaper end butter or margarine, though the packaging was very fancy. We've visited this desserts and cakes café quite a few times and have tried a wide variety of their pastries and individual desserts--and they've been absolutely delicious every time. Their Cinnabons are delicious, soft and truly satisfying. That's why it was especially disappointing when a birthday cake my husband surprised me with didn't live up to the same standard. The cream had huge chunks of butter, which made the texture unpleasant, and the cake itself was quite dry. Came here with a friend this morning because we saw a TikTok video, when you come in, the cafe is very very pink, they have these pink chairs all over the place that aren't very comfortable at all. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place. It feels like it's trying very hard to be Instagram-aesthetic, but the layout just doesn't work in practice. The pink chairs are meant to be cute, yet they take up so much space that the entire interior feels cramped. When people are waiting for pickups, there's basically nowhere to stand without being in the way. The staff also weren't very engaging. We wanted to ask questions about some of the items in the display cases (since several weren't labeled), but no one acknowledged us or turned around. The register being around the corner made it difficult to point to what we wanted or ask questions while ordering, which added to the confusion. We ordered items that were already in the case and it still took about 15 minutes just to box them up, leaving us awkwardly standing in an already crowded space. I was hoping the food would make up for everything, but unfortunately it didn't. We came specifically for the cinnamon rolls, and they were basically 90% frosting, 10% bread, and 0% cinnamon so none of us enjoyed them. To top it all off, the prices are extremely high: $17 for a smoothie, $12 for a cinnamon roll, $17 for a breakfast sandwich, $10 for a coffee, and so on. I mostly tasted the biscoff flavor in the excess liquid that was in the container. The cake itself didn't have much flavor. Its topped with a thick whipped cream and the drink is filling. The only area this place seems to fall short in is the food. Unfortunately, we had a really disappointing experience here. All of the pastries we tried were extremely dry, and most were overly sweet, while the chocolate croissant was surprisingly bitter. We also asked multiple questions about the pastries and their flavors, but no one seemed to know much about what was actually in them. The coffee was also watery and bitter. What really made the experience worse was the service. We were there testing out pastries for my niece's first birthday and had her stroller with us. When we arrived, there was nowhere else to sit, so we purposely chose a table way in the back because we wanted to be considerate and stay out of everyone's way. In the middle of trying the pastries, we were told we needed to move because the stroller was supposedly blocking the way for someone in a wheelchair to get through. There was no one in the establishment using a wheelchair at the time. Had there been, we obviously would have happily moved the stroller immediately to make room for them. It felt like an unnecessary excuse to ask us to move, especially when we had already made an effort to sit out of the way and there weren't other seating options available when we arrived. At that point, we told them we would just leave. Between the quality of the pastries and coffee, the lack of knowledge about their own products, and how uncomfortable the service made us feel, we definitely won't be back. I got the Cookies n Cream Blended drink, my friends got: the Ube Au Lait Cafe and the Taste the Spirit. All 3 drinks were pretty good... but it was unanimous-- we all loved the Ube drink best! This was our first time visiting, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. The employee working the register, whose name I believe was Konner, was not helpful at all. When she asked if I was ready to order from the display where the cakes were, I told her that we were still looking. She immediately walked away to the register and then asked what we wanted to order in a very rude tone. After we placed our order, I asked about the blended drink options, and she continued to respond rudely. To make matters worse, when she handed us our order, the box was covered in syrup. When I brought it back and asked if it could be cleaned, she did so without saying sorry or acknowledging the mistake. This is coming from someone who doesn't mind paying more for something I love, but I have never seen cafe prices this high in Fresno. Their bagel is $21 & their Rose Matcha is $10. My total came out to $34 + $2 tip. Their Lox bagel was nothing special & I was served with a mushy brown avocado inside (picture below) Their rose matcha was not real matcha at all & tasted extremely artificial & like something I purchased at Marshall's. My husband and I went here after seeing an IG post. We were pretty excited to try the cinnamon rolls specifically. We ended up waiting in line for about 35 minutes or so, and then another 10 minutes after we ordered to receive our food/coffee. It seemed like they were super understaffed at the time- tables weren't bussed all around us and with the wait being so long. The food and coffee were just ok, but we wouldn't wait in another 35 minute long line for what we got. The choices on the menu looked amazing it was so hard to choose, high quality food and coffee both very very fresh. In my opinion the shining star were the side of potatoes that were beyond perfect. My fiancee said the Turkey Bacon Bagel was a 10/10 and the Ferrero rocher latte tasted exactly like the chocolates themselves. While the decor and the ambience are definitely Instagram-worthy the price makes it really difficult to come back. We've also had croissants and cronuts at Dominique Ansel in Las Vegas and their products are half the price and much more flavorful. They were really yummy. I also ordered the white chocolate pumpkin latte for my mom and she loved it. The people were friendly, but the service was a little slow after ordering. I will say that even though the croissants were good, they were a little too pricey. I paid $12.50 per croissant.
