7/26/26 Getting breakfast for lunch today! Sounds good!! Ordered the Bee Sting Breakfast Bagel and potato salad. Paid for it on DoorDash and went to pick it up! Arrived!! Very busy! Packed house!! Greeted upon walking in, let worker know of DoorDash and told to go around to the cafe side. Took a little bit, then it was put on the counter with a smile. Lunchtime! Eddie's is a great bakery here in Fresno and it's always packed! We went in for a few breakfast treats and it's always so hard to just pick one! I got a cranberry and orange scone and it was delicious! The whole vibe is a bustling municipal bakery where anyone is welcome. This review is a little overdue. I get a Havana Cappuccino on a weekly basis. One of the places in Fresno to get a Peet's. Most every time, the coffee is spot on. Today it appears that there was a communication issue between the person at the register and the barista, as I received a cappuccino that was good, but not a Havana. I was in Fresno for a Doctor appointment and we decided to have brunch at Eddie's Bakery Cafe. We always go by it, but this time we decide to stop. Oh what a treat it was!!! We have been missing out on great coffee and delicious bake goods! Very good food, even though we were full because we couldn't resist and took a bite of our baked goods. Today my daughter invited me to breakfast at Eddie's Bakery and Cafe. I swore I was going to order something different! The thing about Eddies is the friendly servers, most of the time. Eddie's is warm, honey and just says come in, have coffee, sit for awhile. Visit with friends, enjoy a fresh pastry. Today I had the breakfast burrito, I split with my daughter. She got a delicious bear claw and we each ate half. So good! She enjoyed a cup of coffee and I had a large Peet's black tea! They can accommodate larger parties on the tented patio with heaters. They also have a small room for 10 guests and the cafe has several small tables for two- four people. They also offer take out, and DoorDash! The cafe is always clean, neat and welcoming. Consistently delicious baked goods and food have kept us loyal customers over the years! We have tried several of their pasties, cakes and sandwiches and every item has been worthy of every bite! Recently we tried the Maysville Chocolate Cake. It was the perfect fudge cake that satisfied our chocolate loving taste buds, though not overly sweet. I don't know why I keep trying over and over, but again I tried to give Eddie the benefit of the doubt. Their cakes look really good but every time I get one, they are dry. I just got one for my birthday in July and it was horribly dry. I ended up throwing that away and it was expensive. I got another cake today for a birthday for a relative. I just picked it up right out of the case it was not something that I had special made. The cake was horribly dry. I didn't really think you could mess up a chocolate cake, but they sure proved me wrong. I would've been better off going to Vons and getting a cake from them. At least I would've paid half the price and their cakes are not dry. The cake I got today tasted like it had been cut open and sat in the refrigerator for a week. Very disappointing. Especially since my sister used to work for them in the 70s and back then they were good. read more

Eddie's Bakery in Fresno is a must when ordering birthday cakes or anything for a special occasion. Their cakes are delicious, and they always do such a great job with custom designs. I've ordered multiple birthday cakes from them, and they never disappoint. Custom cakes do start on the pricier side (around $45 and up, depending on the cake flavor and filling), but they're honestly worth it for the quality and detail you get. Just a heads-up they need at least 48 hours notice for custom cakes, and you do have to pay when you place the order. you can't pay on the day of pickup. When you walk in, you take a number and wait to be called. Once it's your turn, you can order from their different pastries and baked goods while placing your cake order. On pickup day, you just let them know you're there, they show you the cake, and then you take it home. I recently ordered a cake for my nephew's birthday, and they did an amazing job making it into a Pokémon ball. It was perfect and a huge hit. Overall, Eddie's Bakery is delicious. read more

My husband picks me up pastries and he's never complained about bad service. He's had good interactions with the staff. I had to write about their bear claws... SO delicious. We buy maybe 6 of them at a time, keep them in the fridge, and have bear claws for the next few days. We heat them in the oven at 350 degrees for 5-6 mins and they taste freshly baked! It was always a nice treat, because everything is so pretty, lol. Display of desserts are still as beautiful as I remember. They also offer lunch and Peet's coffee! I've always appreciated the ticket system they offer to assist customers. I got a slice of red velvet cake to share, it was for about $6-7. We both agreed it was okay. Lol. Inflation is real everywhere and my bank acct cries a little every time my $$$ isn't worth the purchase. Lol. We've got a favorite place for red velvet so their slice compared to our favorite wasn't up to par. The cream cheese icing is on the sweeter side with what tastes like more like buttercream. I prefer a stronger tasting cream cheese frosting. The cake is moderately moist. The next day, I worked on finishing the slice and the frosting and cake were on the drier side. We were really excited to try Eddie's Café after hearing good things, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing -- especially when it came to the service. From the moment we walked in, the employees came off as incredibly rude. We try not to be difficult customers, and since it was our first time there, we had a few questions. Rather than being helpful, the staff seemed visibly annoyed every time we asked anything. It made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. To be clear, the place wasn't even busy -- so it wasn't a matter of them being overwhelmed. At one point, one employee was just on their phone while we were standing there waiting. It just felt like they didn't care about the customers at all. It's disappointing because we were genuinely looking forward to supporting a local spot. Had the most pathetic $17 sandwich to go this morning. I ordered the turkey and Brie sandwich which not a slice of Brie was found, barely a smear of mustard, the turkey was clearly from a package, laid flat on super hard bread.
