Panaderia Cafe Oaxaca is the real thing. the pastries are made fresh and you can tell immediately. the conchas were soft with just the right amount of sweetness, the kind that makes the grocery store version feel embarrassing by comparison. everything in the case looked beautiful and I had a genuinely hard time choosing. they also do vegan options which I wasn't expecting from a traditional panaderia and my friend who doesn't eat dairy was really happy about that. nice to find a spot that doesn't make it feel like an afterthought. the cafe side means you can grab coffee and actually sit and enjoy your stuff which I love. opens at 7am so its a real morning spot, closes at 3pm so plan accordingly. its on Villa Ave in Clovis which is easy to get to and the price is so reasonable. like embarrassingly affordable for how good everything is. this is the kind of neighborhood spot that deserves way more attention than it probably gets. tell your friends, bring your family, buy too much pan dulce. no regrets.

I noticed in the case they also carry cupcakes for our dogs. I ordered four cupcakes; lemon, red velvet, chocolate, and salted caramel. They were all delicious! The lemon and salted caramel cupcakes had filling on the inside, which just added to their decadence. The salted caramel was fantastic and my favorite of the four. All of these cupcakes were extremely moist, and the frosting was piled high. My kids loved the red velvet and the chocolate fudge cupcake. I mean, come on was there ever a doubt kids wouldn't like chocolate? These cupcakes were a little pricey, but you can taste the value with each flavor filled bite. I ordered a cake for my birthday and was able to pick it up the morning of the next day. It came with candles, matches, and a cake spatula that you can cut and serve the cake with. I got the cappuccino cake that looks like a cup of cappuccino. The inside was coffee flavored and it was so soft and fluffy. The cream also had coffee flavored and it was absolute heaven in my mouth. It had a caramel top over a white chocolate layer and it also had a chocolate handle, 3 coffee bean shaped chocolates on top, and a couple of chocolate sticks next to the chocolate logo of the bakery. They even wrote Happy Birthday in chocolate on the board the cake was on. The packaging was neat and compact so it didn't take too much space in the fridge and still kept the cake in perfect condition. I always order my birthday cakes from here every year because it's the only bakery that gets the texture of a whole cake actually right. Not dense and heavy, but light and airy and not too sweet.

The cruller donut was perfection. Airy and super soft with it almost melting in your mouth before the first bite. The old-fashioned donut (which are my favorite) was incredible! It was surprisingly light, for a cake doughnut, and had a thick layer of maple glaze. I think the layer was about an eighth of an inch, which for icing is bonkers. I've had many macarons over the years not only are these macarons presented beautifully with vibrant colors they have got to be the best macarons I've ever had. The shell has a nice delicate crunch, soft and chewy texture. Each macaron was rich in flavor and the sweetness level was perfect. My favorite was the Ube ate the one I bought wishing I had ordered a whole dozen of it. Definitely found my new go-to spot for macarons.
