I revived the food and the gal said my card didn't go through and asked for another form of payment so I paid cash. Later the 56.38 was pending with my bank so a double charge. When I tried calling no one answered the phone so I left a message. Left my phone number no call back yet! I don't trust them now! On a good note. The burgers were tasty. read more

I should have read the reviews before coming here this past week and saved myself the time. Had to give a single star so I could leave a review. Would have given zero stars if I could. Came through earlier in the week and ordered a simple hot fudge sundae. The girl on the intercom very rudely stated "you can pull up" ... no confirmation of order, no statement of how much it would cost, etc. My guy and I came through for sweet treat tonight. We witnessed the car in front of us get abandoned at the intercom when they asked if Sonic had just plain vanilla ice cream. After no reply from the intercom after many minutes, the person in front of us spoke towards the intercom, not knowing if there was anyone on the other side of the speaker, and told them she was just going to pull forward. Our turn at the ordering intercom didn't go easy either, it went even worse. We ordered and when I asked a question about an extra add on to my item, I was ignored but told to pull forward. At the intercom I asked if my order was heard. A very curt and abrupt voice responded, but didn't confirm my add-on. When I asked if the person heard the additional request, the person responded in a very abrupt and irritated tone repeated the entire order including the add on. Okay, great! We pull forward to the window, my boyfriend hands the person at the window his card to pay and then lets them know that the person on the intercom was rude. The person at the window immediately gets defensive and says that it wasn't her. My boyfriend calmly tries to tell this person we are just letting them know what happened and the person hands my boyfriends card back to him, tells him, "you don't get anything", slams the window and disappears. This person decides to punish us for trying to explain a problem with ordering at the drive thru intercom. We sat for a bit to see if someone would come back to the window because we don't have confirmation if his card was swiped for payment or not. I get out of the truck and knock on the window. I see a third person close by, but he purposely ignoring us. Cars are stacking up behind us. Still no one is visible in the front of the store. We can see the camera monitors through the window and can see the staff in the very back of the store. After at least 20-30 minutes, and quite possibly longer waiting at the drive thru window, someone finally comes to the window. It's a new person. We tell the girl we have been waiting to speak to someone to confirm if my boyfriend's card was swiped for our order or not. She immediately responds that the card was not swiped. My boyfriend explains about the horrible experience we just had. The person apologizes on behalf of her coworkers, but is obviously in on it and is protecting her coworkers and manager as she refused to give us any information about reporting the horrible experience we just had. She initially refused to give us the name of the manager. She tells us the information is online which of course is super difficult to find and any telephone numbers regarding this specific location don't work . However, if you too have had a bad experience the manager's name is Ruben and the corporate number for Sonic is: 866-657-6642 to save anyone else the hassle of reporting poor service at this location. The location ID is 5090 Yes this is "just a Sonic" and it's fast food, but the behavior of the staff at this location was not okay. Maybe this is why all Sonic's seem to have such low star reviews on Yelp. I can't believe that the District or Regional Managers for Sonic are okay with the sub 2 star all of their locations have in the Fresno/Clovis area. I came to sonic today, hoping to get my kids something quick to eat after school and I mentioned a food allergy (no tomatoes, no pickles, no onions) they still put it on all of the burgers so I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant and I asked them if they could correct the mistake and the manager was very rude and yelled at me and told me that if my kids have allergies, I shouldn't be buying fast food! I have it on recording and I was completely baffled. He was very disrespectful and my kids were in the car. This is the third time that this has happened at this location. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! My two shakes came out halfway melted. I pointed it out to the girl who delivered them, and she still tried to push them on me. I refused to take them and asked for shakes that were not melty. She went back in the store and came out a few minutes later with the SAME SHAKES. They were even more melted! She tried to pass them off as freshly made! I told her I either wanted shakes that were not melted or a refund. She said that I wasn't getting either one as she stood there at my car window. I asked to speak with the manager, and she walked away without saying a word. I sat there for 25 minutes waiting for replacement shakes or the manager. I would have left, but I'd already paid and I couldn't believe that I was being purposely ignored. Now that I'm reading all of the bad reviews on here, I see that rude behavior, bad service, and inferior food is the norm at this location. I drove away and went to Wendy's instead. Ive been to this location a few times but the last two have me annoyed. I went this afternoon a little before 8pm. No line when I arrived. I order. The lady's tone was of someone who wanted me to rush, even though i had my order ready when i pulled up. Very rude tone. I forgot to add a drink. Before driving off, i ask to add a drink. Within the same breath of saying "thank you" i said "wait, i forgot a drink". No response. This has happened before and I cant get the person on the intercom to respond. I drive forward. No cars in front of me or behind. I recognize the employee as the same one that has intentionally ignored me at the intercom before, except i gave her the benefit of the doubt that time. As I hand her my card, I ask nicely to add a drink. She lies twice. First she says she cant because she already rung me up and cant swipe my card twice. I offer to pay with a different card or cash. Next she says she cant place a second order because the machine was down. At this moment i see theres 2 new cars behind me. Meaning the machine isn't down. A second employee hands me my food and as I pull away, i can see him entering an order at the same machine that cant swipe cards more than once and is suddenly out of order. The second employee has always been cheerful and kind. I go home and open the bag. My cheeseburger is squished. Tbh, im a lot less upset about the burger than i am at the lazy and dishonest employee. The entire fast food industry has changed a hell of a lot since I first reviewed this place. What was once an overpriced, mediocre place that I'd only go to occasionally for their specialty drinks has actually become one of of the few fast food places still worth going to. By now, it's no secret that you have to use the mobile apps at these places to get any kind of a deal. That's true here with the drinks, since you can get happy hour prices on drinks (half off) any time. The drinks here are still the star of the show- especially if you have the app which lets you customize them however you want. Their $1.99 menu is surprisingly decent though, and that can be ordered from without using the app. The double cheeseburger here is better than the one at McDonald's if you use the app to add onion and tomato (no additional charge) and their bacon ranch queso wraps are surprisingly good. Rounding out the $1.99 menu are tots and the chili cheese dog, which at least are different offerings from other fast food places. To sum it up, you still want to come here primarily for the drinks, but Sonic has adapted to inflation better than other drive thru restaurants and is probably the most consumer friendly of them all now since dollar menus became extinct. read more

I rarely eat fast food but I was craving real onion rings and didn't want to mess up my kitchen. I went online to see if anyone actually hand dipped onions vs premade frozen crap and yes, both Sonic and Arby's (both owned by parent Corporation Inspire brands) do, in fact, have REAL onions inside. I realize the individual restaurants are franchised, but this co paid $2.3 B CASH for Sonic in 2018. Why do I care? I bought a MEDIUM onion ring and it was $5.76. There were 5 plus 1/2 of an onion ring making every single ring cost over a dollar each!! I know tariffs have raised prices on certain foods considerably, Thx DjT, but I think it's time to start telling corporations enough already! The drive thru was quick and service perfunctory. It does have a car hop vibe to it but, I'd Look for mom n pop places or food trucks in the community! The onion rings were crunchy, almost too crunchy from whatever tiny starch bits made up the rather sweetish tasting batter. The onion inside was soft, tender and pleasant and it was seasoned nicely, but $1 per onion ring??? I'm looking at the 5 pound bag of onions on my counter that I paid about $3.50 for. I placed my order clearly at the drive-thru, yet when I got to the window, one of the drinks was missing. If there was any way to leave a NEGATIVE 5 star review, this would be one of the few, and only times that I have ever gone to the extent to express myself. So this is very legit and sad ... so listen up.... First, let me clarify that this is not about Sonic corporation - we love their food and drinks. This problem is with this specific location and owner. I do not know how this owner-franchisee has managed to stay in business with the horrendous customer service, and extremely poor training that this Sonic location provides. He has received nonstop complaints from students, parents, and teachers in this area, and he never changes or does a single thing to improve. Our organization, family kids, and I, all really love Sonic food and drinks. So this is not a complaint about general Sonic products. It is specifically about THIS location & THIS owner .... and its horrendous employees and management team. It's very important to know the difference. And it's sad that corporate Sonic doesn't have a discipline program to get this franchisee in line. Over the last year, they have made many mistakes with filling orders, honoring mobile orders, forgetting items in the food bag, refusing to provide condiments as paid for or required by corporate policy, & on and on. Little mistakes that keep adding up one by one by one. It's like death by 1 million paper cuts. Every business makes mistakes and stuff happens... That's not unusual. But it's how you handle them that makes all the difference and keeps customers happy and coming back. This location does the reverse. Every single time we have tried to get a manager to address the issues, but are usually met with a very nasty response or disrespectful behavior. One time the rep said they would call the manager and we sat in the car and waited 15 minutes and no one ever came out. When we went knocking on the window, they claimed that there was no manager currently working. Hiding or lying is what they did! How unprofessional... One horrendous employee we have had multiple issues with and filed multiple complaints about is named Mario - he takes the cake every time. He is rude, nasty, and belligerent - and that's an understatement. Many different people have complained about him. Yes, somehow he still employed. We don't know how this guy is still employed after being so nasty and disrespectful to customers. One teacher guest that they must be related to the owner and it's a mercy job or something lol Things got so bad that several parents and teachers and even students started complaining to Corporate. So over the last six months Corporate has been inundated with complaints after complaints about this location. So what does Corporate do? Unfortunately, nothing..., Corporate has a very poor response procedure and all they have done is "forward the messages to the franchisee owner," who happens to be absentee or incompetent, and never responds. You would think that after so many complaints, someone would say we need to train our employees to provide better customer service. Nope. Not at all. So if you are one of the lucky ones that can tolerate bad customer service, constant screw ups, and disrespectful treatment and behavior... You can keep coming to THIS Sonic. In the meantime, our group will continue to try to make a difference and change the dynamic of this particular Sonic. we will continue to file complaints and take the time to drive to the other Sonic that has better customer service. We figured enough complaints will one day inspire them to care and to change. And this is only a small summary of what's been going on with this Sonic over the last year... read more

5/16/21 the dude and I came to this Sonics on Williow in Clovis since we were in the area. The line was short so we initially thought it would be quick to get two milkshakes but seriously took forever! We waited about 40 minutes in line and no way you can back out as we were trapped in which was a bummer. The dude got a blended Rootbeer Freeze which was pure rootbeer and no ice cream. My chocolate banana milkshake was delicious no complaints except for the wait. We live by a closer Sonics and that Sonics is even long too! I guess it depends on time of day and if someone is ordering large meals but usually a staff member will come out and take additional orders to speed up the line which didn't happen :( love Sonics! Will be back if I am in the area. Love their slushes and milkshakes. Make sure to download the app as they have some pretty nice perks and you can save money especially if you are ordering some for a lot of people! Sonic corporation needs to evaluate the manager and their staff! There is fraudulent activity going on at this sonic. They charge different prices then what is listed on their signage and app. When you ask them about it they immediately yell at you, are extremely rude and unprofessional. They do not give receipts which is a red flag. They will keep the customers card for a long time. Today, 2/27/25, I took my grandsons to the drive through and ordered 2 fries and 2 drinks. I specifically ordered 2 groovy sauces as in the past there have not always been groovy sauces when I ordered them. I waited 15 minutes (which is unusual as I was the second driver in line) and heard loud voices inside while waiting. There was only one groovy sauce in the bag and I said to the young girl in a disgusted voice,"I specifically ordered 2 groovy sauces to go with 2 fries." Highly recommend retraining employees in customer service. Since phone is disconnected, I could not reach anybody to help me. The drive thru person deliberately ignored my order, 2 slushees. So I came to the door to question the issue. The manager had no communication skills and when she was asked for her name, she dodged the question. Her solution was to call Clovis PD instead. I'm hopeful the owner of this location will wisely take the time to properly instruct his employees, most especially in taking responsibility for their error and actions. When we pulled up to the window, the two workers were jnside the kitchen yelling and calling each other "slaves", yelling out the "F" word and calling everyone, including me and my guests "b*tches" all while complaining about what we ordered.
