This store is fairly large and they typically always have a really great selection of items. When we arrived at the store we took a stroll through their seasonal section which had a ton of different clearance items. It was also great to see that they had a lot of fabrics on sale and overall their prices aren't too bad to begin with. The staff members at this store have always been really nice to us and usually either help us find what we are looking for or quickly cut up the fabrics we bring them. Overall, this is a really great Jo-Ann Fabric Store and it will continue to be the store we shop at in the future for fabrics and other do-it-yourself craft items.

The not-so-good experiences usually resulted from a one or two employees that I would deal with and as soon as I dialed in their days off, or just remembering their faces let me work around and all but eliminate the bad experiences. Other than that though, the prices were slightly more expensive than some of the larger, non-chain type material stores. But if your looking for crafts as well as materials under the same roof, this is the place to go.

One star rating based solely for my online ordering experience…read more I've ordered from the Enfield store several times and they have my order done and ready within an hour. This location was awful. I ordered and was sent an email acknowledging it had been received. When I arrived (about an hour later), it wasn't ready. I wasn't upset as I didn't get the email saying it had been fulfilled. My issue came when I spoke to the gentleman in framing services (which is where you pick up the online orders). He was blasé and made no attempts to see if anyone was actually working on it or maybe even call a manager. Instead, he worked at a snail's pace helping another customer with a frame order. It was a Sunday and there were not many customers in the store. Eventually (after 30 minutes) asked him to cancel my order as I would just purchase it there myself. He said he would try and remember but his priority was framing and that I should call later. I understand and take responsibility for assuming all Michael's stores are created equal but this was incredibly frustrating. I received an email notification that my order was ready 20 minutes before the store was closing. This was after me already purchasing on my own and then being on hold for 45 with the 800 number trying to cancel. No humans, only a menu that went in circles. I finally called the store and was transferred to frame man. He canceled but never acknowledged any shortcomings on their end (I guess that's what happens when you can only focus on framing). The only positive was the cashier in front. There was NO line so that was quick. She also tried to find a manager for me to help cancel online order but was unable. Perhaps there was no manager on duty and they were covering.

I have shopped here for the past two years. I have always been disappointed with the staff here. Of…read moreall the times I have been there, I have only had one encounter where a salesperson was helpful and kind. Most of my interactions with the staff have been characterized by haughty attitudes and rudeness on their behalf. I have never asked for much beyond whether I could use the dressing room and still have been treated with disregard and most recently, with disrespect. On my last visit, I was being let into the dressing area and was asked if I was a cardholder. I told the salesperson I was. She told me I could get a 40% discount with my card. When I exited the dressing room to purchase my items I was asked again if I was a card holder by the same salesperson. I said I was. She then asked me if I was a recent and current cardholder. I told her I was. She furrowed her brow and asked if I was sure, and if she should "look me up." I told her I was and asked why she had asked me so many times. She walked away and disappeared into the dressing room area. I pulled my card out and headed to the counter to pay for my purchase. Another employee rang up my total and told me that the cardholder discount did not apply when I asked about the discount. I asked for an explanation and did not get one. The salesperson placed my items in the bag and, though I had my hand outstretched to take it from her, decided to toss it toward me on the counter. She did not look me in the eye during our entire interaction and walked off without a thanks or salutation. As I said earlier, I have never had many interactions with the staff when I am there and have never been rude or unkind. I have always had to ask for help instead of the staff asking to help me. I am a local professional, but I am also an Indigenous person and feel as if my appearance may have played a part my interactions with them. I honestly cannot think of any other reason as I have seen different treatment afforded for other customers when I have been there. Needless to say, I will not be back and am sure to spread the word. I do not think their attitudes or actions reflect the best sales practices or the reality of their brand, at all. They have elitist attitudes and are merely a lower, mid-level, retail chain. A smile and some kindness toward those of us who appear to be "other" could only help.
