Hey y'all! Just landed in BWI, from spirit. This flight wasn't the greatest. An employee at spirit customer service desk, where you check ur QR code, to get on the plane, was rude to me right before I scanned my QR code. I'm not about to walk on egg shells when I'm supposed to be getting the hospitality from customer service. Otherwise, the flight attendant helped me put my bag in a bin up top, and the flight went smooth. But passengers always MAD and hating when it's time to de-board. Some Indian lady had an attitude lol and talking about waiting her turn to get off the plane when no body has to wait, anyone can go with the flow of traffic. They need to mange the exiting style a little better. I notice this every time I exit a plane passengers are either hot or cold. I've flown Spirit Airlines and have never encountered 1 issue. I can't say that about most others. They're economical, run on time, and have the best staff w the biggest kind personality. I can easily pack 2-3 days in a private carrying bag. I duck and dodge those luggage fees like a Champ. We made it to the airport very early so no need to rush. I stopped at the counter downstairs to see if bags were ok because we consolidated and had one bag each but the staff said no only backpacks were no charge but that's not the original information we got. So she charged us 79. Dollars per case. I said well we have hours before we depart can I go to the side and pay for carryon which was 39 dollars she said no it has to be done prior to departure day. Spirit you messing with my mind and money. But I needed to get home so I had no choice but was informed at the checkin that I could have changed. Then we get to tsa and they were so rude to others that didn't understand the language well. And when I made a comment they turned their anger on me and gave me a hard time about my name change even though I had both passports and both ids with proof of name change. No need to stress people out just do your job and thanks us for flying. So simple We had to check in stroller and stood outside plane ramp for 20 minutes only to be told it's at baggage claim that's why we carried in so we didn't have to go to baggage claim. They canceled our flight out of Baltimore a mere 3 hours before departure with no meaningful explanation, no accountability, and absolutely no effort to help us rebook. We weren't offered viable alternatives, no same-day solutions, nothing. Just stranded. When you cancel a flight that close to departure, people aren't just "inconvenienced", they're completely screwed, especially families traveling with kids. Instead of stepping up, Spirit left us scrambling and forced us to spend hundreds of extra dollars just to figure out another way to get where we needed to go. That's not just bad service, it's complete negligence. If you're thinking about booking with Spirit, don't. If something goes wrong (which it inevitably will with them) you're on your own. Traveling is a stressful time and Spirit has no extra fluff to make it an easier or calmer experience, leading to stressed people. I have no issues with this airline. Now, they are similar to Frontier business formula. Yes, you get cheap fares. They are cheaper at times than Amtrak. I flew to Boston cuz ain't no way I'll pay over$300 one-way fare to Boston . My fare was $49.00 each way. I signed up for their Super Savers thing. Cuz the standard fare difference was only $10 difference. Yes, you'll pay extra -seats -carryon/checked -priority boarding Drinks snacks, etc. Let me tell you this they are super strict with their personal bag policy. Don't try to be slick, they watch you like a hawk. I love that they have priority boarding to vets, and LEOs get to board first. Flight crew was nice, you don't get snacks, you do pay for that. I have never had a worse experience with an airline. This was my first experience with Spirit, and while I heard negative reviews, this was a last minute flight and the only option available. The gate agents on 6/24/25 were so unprofessional. They were yelling at mothers for not giving children over 2 their boarding passes in hand, they were yelling at people in opposite boarding groups. It was just a completely unprofessional experience. Also when we got on the aircraft, it looked as though it was not clean at all. There were crumbs in the seats, a large Dunkin' cup shoved where the pamphlets were, just an overall bad experience and I would not travel with Spirit again. read more

Improve by flying when you say you fly. Not always delaying flights. My light was delayed five times. I was to get to my destination at 9 pm, I got there at 12:30 AM. I want to say that Spirit airlines at this location is better than the one at LAX. I truly love the woman at the baggage claim. She was really awesome, efficient, communicative, and she was actually there. At LAX, I'm not sure if it is understaffed there, but I was crying my eyes out because I could not figure out where my baggage was, how to get a flight where I needed it, and it was awful. In Baltimore, their team is a lot more solid, and I hope that Spirit can emulate that in other areas. I cannot say much further for Spirit as a company, however, because they cannot even give me a full refund for a flight that never happened. My bank had to reverse the charge that they were giving me. I will never fly spirit again, but I just wanted to say how much I loved the baggage and how much I loved the people that work there. read more

Customer service at gate D10 was non existent. Multiple passengers said "good morning" and "hello" to the ticketing agent. She was on her phone in her earphone and did not respond to any passenger greetings. I was honestly going to come on here and give 5 stars for not witnessing any incidents at the gate, but I had to give 1 star because of the way so many passengers greeted the young lady and she said absolutely nothing. Ok I had to add a star because the flight attendant just reminded everyone to download movies or shows they want to watch. That was courteous and I've never heard that before. While the flight was "uneventful", one stewardess napped in the back while the other watched a movie. We were not offered any beverages, etc until about 2.5 hours into the flight. When we arrived at our destination we waited close to an hour for our luggage to come out, and then our luggage was damaged. The luggage was purchased early October '23, this trip was early December '23. I have waited NUMEROUS house on "live chat" to no avail. I wish zero was an option. I flew them once and said never again. After a few years I thought I would try again, I tried to make a simple change, wouldn't allowed to do it and and was referred to a chatbot with a 50 minute wait to connect to an actual human. I stared at the screen for over a half an hour and was then disconnected for "lack of activity ". I booked Spirit because it "appeared" to be cheaper than Southwest or JetBlue. I will end up paying more actually when this is over. I thought Ryan Air was the worst airline on the planet but Spirit appears to have outdone them. I came to take Spirit Airlines for a domestic flight this morning. I thought everything was all good when I got there at 8:00 AM today. I did the checkin early on and arrived 25 minutes before departure. I was very aware that boarding starts 45 minutes before departure. I didn't have a sense of urgency since I've boarded several flights 45 minutes early and have seen passengers getting on up to 5 minutes before departure. I never cared because I was already comfortable just waiting for departure. So, I guess something changed or it has become more strict which is all good. I got there to scan the boarding passes but there was an issue with the cell service so I went to the front after several attempts. I tried to get them to print out the tickets but the lady said the plane had already left even though it was 25 minutes before departure. I assume she was new because that sounded absurd. After reading reviews and hearing from others, Spirit may have actually left because my sister-in-law told me she had a Spirit flight leave an hour before departure. I asked to speak with a supervisor just to see if anything could be done. The supervisor came out looking very annoyed and from what I could gather, seemed ready for confrontation. I'm sure you have to be tough and give off a certain persona but I didn't see anybody really upset about issues they had. They all were looking for solutions. After speaking to me with an attitude and realizing I wasn't even reciprocating her energy, she chilled a bit. She explained the main issue and it basically came down to I was too late even though I thought I was early enough. I took accountability for that but her point was that I had to be in the seat 45 minutes early and the plane leaves then. I've been on several flights domestic and international and that's definitely NOT true. I was hesitant to rebook the 4 flights and pay 400 more dollars so I called customer service to see what could be done. All of this still happening before departure time. They wanted the supervisor's name just to legitimize that we were actually at the airport was my guess. I asked one of the workers and she acted like she didn't even know the supervisor or who was working even though I saw them have a conversation when I first arrived. I just wanted a name and I wasn't hostile or rude. I said I just need it for customer service so I can just leave. She eventually brought the supervisor out again but when the supervisor saw me from a distance; she turned and walked back in the locked room. She refused to come out and didn't even come out to address other concerns guests had. Another Spirit employee had to go to the back area, send her the verbal message, and come back to tell the other passengers, "no". It was really weird. A supervisor sets the example for the employees and now I see why there are so many complaints. Well, I saw many people writing that employees are on their phones while attending guests. That's a fact. Two different employees did that and weren't even paying attention that anybody was in line at one point. Spirit has great deals on flights but shows a really unprofessional way of dealing with passengers. As they say, "actions speak louder than words". Who cares if you get a great deal when you are treated as an inconvenience then see others being dealt as an inconvenience. I take fault for not being there even earlier than 25 minutes but the way they dealt with me trying to understand the problem was just offensive. I asked who I could message to see if they can make clearer on the emails and apps. To me, "boarding 45 minutes early" doesn't mean "then we're leaving so suck it up". UNDERCOVER BOSS, please get this message and GET ON IT! I would love to watch this episode because SO many people clearly see how terrible their customer service is, AS A WHOLE! I feel bad for the good workers but I finally read reviews and understand why they are so low. Some passengers need to be accountable for their errors like I was BUT it doesn't mean you become an inconvenience and are allowed to be disrespected because you don't want to deal with me or other passengers. The supervisor refused to give her name. Tattoos, face piercings, and unprofessional way of dealing with problems. Our family got to the airport at 4pm, wea had a booked flight at 6:40pm (NK1961) when we went to get an update of departure we were told we were being delayed and the lady at the gate who unfortunately I did not get her name: said "we do not know when the plane will take off until AFTER 7pm please come back at 7" ... we went to get a drink at starbucks when we came back at 6:45 everyone was gone and the gates were closed and we got told the flight had left but online on the app it said the plane had not departed. The attendant said it was mentioned 8 times but there was NO announcements on the intercoms that the flight was leaving or being delayed - we came back to the bag drop area and we saw a lady who was also on our flight and asked her if she was having the same issue, she said yes and that the attendant at the gates provided her with the SAME information to "come back at 7pm". when she returned to the gate they were gone. We went to the front desk and explained the situation. the first tall black make told us "just re book" . we then explained it to a worker of spirit airlines named Antwan (black male with short dreads) he was BEYOND understanding and helpful , he checked all the information and told us that the flight did leave and he kindly helped us rebook our flight , this is a negative review for the airline and the attendants that gave us wrong information. However, as for Antwan I hope he is credited and given a raise , he was polite, kind, understanding he listened to our complaints and did not give any kind of attitude he apologized and was able to kindly help us in the situation. thank you Antwan. -10 spirit airlines. read more

Wouldn't allow a small purse (4x7) and a backpack so had to pay $100. We were in line when a woman came over and said we need to put our purses in our backpacks. So we did, the whole time she was talking shit cause I asked her when did this start happening because I've never had an issue with bringing a purse and a backpack (just flew out of BWI in November with another airline and zero issues, so I was very confused) she looked at her wrist (like looking a watch motion) and said " four forty some years" and started laughing...Both girls were very rude and being smartasses. Beyond disappointed in Spirit airlines. My daughter (18) was traveling from Boston to San Diego with a lay over in Baltimore. The first flight left 1 hour 8 minutes late (for an unknown reason), arriving 6 minutes after her next flight was scheduled to leave. The flight attendants on her first flight promised her the connecting flight would wait for them. But to her surprise that was not the case. She was left stranded at BWI with little information except an email stating her flight was rebooked for 24 hours later, and she could obtain a hotel room 2 miles away. Panicked, crying, and distraught, the Spirit staff was completely unhelpful to my daughter, not answering questions or offering any help to an anxious, obviously overwhelmed, young woman. She has limited travel experience, and never traveled like this alone. She had to seek out several different team members who were very unhelpful. And all insisting her baggage had been moved to the next plane and was in route to San Diego. After spending two hours on the phone with her, while she waited in lines, we managed to get her rebooked on another airline, without help from Spirit at all. They couldn't even offer what refund she would get for her flight, and she was told to just call customer service. Then came the search for her baggage. The spirit agents in Boston never gave her a ticket number for her baggage. Everyone insisted her baggage went on to San Diego. After several persistent inquiries to the baggage desk, one kind airport staff member personally searched for her bag. To find it in a transfer cart on the tarmac. NOT on a flight to San Diego. Thankfully his kindness and determination allowed her to retrieve her belonging and continue her travels to San Diego via a new airline service. Again, without any help from Spirit airline team members. Thank goodness for this, as she would have been without any belongings or vital medications on arrival to San Diego if she had listened to the Spirit staff. Very poor service! We will never fly this airline again. I was so disheartened as a parent to know this team had no compassion or basic customer service skills for a scared, frightened, and insecure overwhelmed young traveler. Shame on you!! The airline has made some massive improvements in customer service as well as making trips more convenient time wise. The luggage situation has gotten better also. DO NOT FLY SPIRIT AIRLINES! Customer service is non-existent. I cannot even wrap my head around how we have been treated by this airline. On June 16th, our flight to Fort Lauderdale was scheduled to arrive at 8:17PM. The plane landed "on the tarmac" at 9:28PM, with our connecting flight to Orlando scheduled to leave at 9:40. By the time we deplaned and ran to the gate, the doors were already closed. We were told that for security reasons the doors close 15 minutes before departure, and they would not be reopened. Leaving not only my family of five, but another 12-15 passengers staring at our plane in disbelief for a good 15 minutes until it taxied away at 9:55PM. We were advised to speak with a Special Services Rep in the ticketing area, only to learn that they had rebooked us on a flight the next evening at 9:37PM. Being stranded at the airport for 24 hours with my eleven-year-old and elderly parents was not an option. I explained that we would not be on that flight, instead we were going to rent a car and drive. The Special Services rep looked up our info, told us she cancelled our flight for the following evening, assured us that we would receive a confirmation email and a refund for the connecting flight from FFL to MCO and that our luggage would be available at Orlando airport by 9:30am the following day. We drove, arriving home 4am, with an additional 5 hours the next day to return the rental, retrieve our vehicle and our luggage from Orlando. This is how our family spent Father's Day, not to mention the added expense of fuel, a rental and an extra day's charge at Park-N-Go. I've tried several times to contact Spirit, both by phone and online, to no avail. I Finally received an email response yesterday afternoon June 17th stating that we do not qualify for a refund as the flight was not "cancelled". Spirit Airline set us up to miss our flight, their "Special Services Agent" lied to us. We will not receive a refund, caused unexpected expenses and ruined Father's Day for our entire family. read more

I booked a flight three days ago for a flight that is a few weeks away. Turned out I can't take the trip so i called to cancel my flight. They did then took my money hostage. They gave me an almost $400 "credit" for future travel. This airline has the worst rating. The only reason we booked through them is it was part of the travel package we purchased. Expedia has already refunded my money back to my account with no grief at all. Spirit doesn't have refund options on their website. I had to call to talk to someone and through the broken english they said i can't have my money back and i have asked to speak to the manager. One of the most economical flights in the US. Often try their services when we are going for a shorter vacation when we do not have to carry extra luggage. So that way we save a lot of money on our travel and use it towards our vacation. It's good for the amount you pay. Seats are not that spacious compared to other flights but we don't care for short duration of flight. They just have one free carry on bag. Often other flights allow two carry on bags. Service is pretty good. They have snacks and drinks on the flight. But it's not free. Thanks to the flight attendants and pilots for taking care of us and making us feel safe during our flight. read more
