Butter Chicken, Samosa (2 pcs), Garlic Naan

In my forever search for the best Indian takeout in Minnesota... And I FOUND IT! Located in a strip mall with lots of great finds, this spot is half grocery store, half restaurant! While there is technically plenty of parking, it was very busy on Friday night when I was swinging by to pick up my food. The restaurant is very simple, with a few booths for dining, which were mostly full, and there was a line of about 6 people waiting for takeout. It was exciting to see so much support for this space. The workers were fabulous: friendly and working diligently to maintain order and make sure everyone had what they needed! I ordered my basics, since it was my first time! Samosas, Garlic Naan, and Butter Chicken! The Samosas were crunchy on the outside, and filled with potatoes, peas, and spices! Perfectly dipped in the accompanying chutneys. Mint was bright and fresh, tamarind was sweet and tangy, just how I like it! Butter Chicken was quite a large serving, bursting with flavor and nuance, which is sometimes missing from takeout versions of this classic. Naan was a bit crisper than I usually like, but the perfect vehicle for the leftover butter chicken sauce. I'm already planning my next order! Check this place out for sure!

Just went here recently with my husband's family and was amazed at the high quality food and the service. Sometimes as a south Asian it's hard to find good quality Indian / Pakistani food but at this restaurant, I felt like I was transported back to South Asia. Everything from the service to the way the food was served in little cooking trays was such a wonderful touch. We tried the popcorn chicken, cauliflower dish, butter chicken, garlic naan, and biryani. Everything was delicious and flavorful. I couldn't stop raving about the butter chicken and garlic naan. The servings are on the smaller side but despite this, we still had a lot of leftovers. My family doesn't eat much though so it was perfect for us. The decor in the place is also very nice. I loved how they have sinks on the outside of the bathrooms to wash your hands. The bathroom is very spacious too - however, it was kind of wet on the ground near the toilet. It could be kept a bit cleaner. Despite this, I had an overall great experience and will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know!

Spice Village is really spicing up Apple Valley! Each dish is packed with flavor and can be tailored to the midwestern palate for spice level. For a starter, I tried the vegetarian samosas. They were crispy and flaky and the sauces on the side added a flavorful kick. Our table also tried the chicken tikka masala, andhra chicken curry and butter chicken. They were all similar but had their own differences. The tikka masala and butter chicken were most similar but the butter chicken was creamier and sweeter. The portions sizes were generous and I had a whole meal to take home. Any of these curries I tried would be a great start for anyone trying this restaurant for the first time! They have a buffet option on the weekend which would be nice for trying other flavors! I will definitely be back to try that out. After finishing up at the restaurant I went across the entrance into the grocery store part. They have lots of spices, ingredients and snacks to try. Worth a browse if you're looking to add something new to your grocery list. This was a great first experience at Spice Village! I would definitely recommend trying this place out!

Spice Village is a newcomer to Apple Valley's food scene. We went for Saturday buffet and were impressed. The restaurant was clean and friendly. The food on the serving line was fresh, hot and delicious. $20 for the buffet also seems very reasonable. Spice Village is a very welcoming place well worth a visit.

Best Indian food I've ever eaten. The buffet is solid but the à la carte is off the charts good. Be sure to try the street style fried rice and the mutton curry. My two favorites. You won't be disappointed no matter what you order!

Food was really good, service friendly and nice relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be dining here again!

We specifically like getting hot queso, guaca, and Tinga from the deli. They can also make you taco and other items for lunch/dinner right at the deli. It's all delicious! My only two complaints are: the deli ordering area itself is awkward to order from. The second there's more than 2 people, it feels crowded and uncomfortable. It's also right next to their house chips and salsa, which are popular items. Maybe they should move them to a place that's not so crowded and busy. Overall the deli ordering area is a massive layout issue. The self-checkouts are also almost never on. It's really annoying. They are right there, but almost never usable. If they aren't going to let me use them, they should just remove them. If would actually be the perfect area to give more space when ordering at the deli. Would solve the layout issue. Overall: go here and get their house chips, tres leches cake towards the back, and some deli items/meals. But be prepared for an awkward layout at the deli, if it's even a little busy.

Their hot food bar is worth trying as they have many tasty meat and side options that are ready to eat. They make tortillas fresh daily which pair nicely with the meats. They also have plenty of grocery options and baked goods to add to your cart. If you are someone who likes to cook vs buying hot and ready, they have a great meat counter and cold options. This bodega is a must try if you are in the area!

The baggers rarely assist with carry out and they don't want you to take a cart. I cannot carry 4 bags by myself. I used to love Byerly's but it has really gone downhill.

You pay and then bag or in my case put items in new laundry basket, at a separate counter. Aldi saves by not hiring people to rustle carts in the parking lot. Bring your cart back to corral and get your quarter back or give cart to a new customer if you are generous. The store is a couple of years old and still fairly clean. A plus is Hawaii Poke Bowls is nearby.

I used to think of Trader Joe's as a more upper-middle class grocer, but not anymore. Everything (with the exception of meat and milk) is very affordable. That said, their shopping experience remains the same high-quality, enjoyable experience, with aisles of yummy options to browse, especially with the rotating seasonal options and new offerings. I've been here several times since moving to Eagan, and I've always encountered friendly employees. The checkout always moves quickly and efficiently. I also love grabbing some free stickers and coloring pages on my way out; it's like a little dopamine burst for my inner child! There are restrooms available to shoppers. They are gender-neutral, which is awesome for a trans guy like me. The bathroom walls are decorated with fun paintings much like the rest of the inside. They are also spacious and clean. Occasionally I have spotted a local food truck parked nearby, serving unique offerings. Once I got to snag some apple cider donuts that way, hehe. The only thing that's a negative about this place is that the parking lot (shared with the movie theatre) is smallish and has a weird layout, so navigating that can be quite challenging. Thankfully I usually walk! But even so, I have to watch out crossing because the cars aren't paying attention to pedestrians!

Layout seemed backwards compared to the Bloomington location but it's not a huge store so it's easy to look down every aisle. I love that you can buy single cans of sparking water/drinks here. Staff were super friendly at the checkout.
