Yummy!! My husband made a reservation on NYE. Parking on Grand Ave. is hit or miss. It was a miss on our night so we looped around to a side street which is a good reminder to factor in a little extra time as there is no designated parking lot. Upon arrival, the restaurant is tucked inside a medium size shopping mall with a nail salon and a few other shops. I'm not knocking stars for this, however, the carpet and wall painting could use a refresh. Contrary, the rest of the decor felt very polished to us. The staff was attentive, got us seated promptly with the reservation and had water poured almost immediately after sitting down. To start, we ordered the warm chai. It was delicious and had just the right amount of spice. If you are looking for it to be more sweet, you can add sugar packets to it. My husband and I enjoyed it as is. For our starter, we had the garlic naan bread which was fresh and seasoned perfectly. It came with a green and brown sauce - both very good. For our main dishes, we both got chicken masala. My husband had medium spice and I had none. The presentation was beautiful arriving in silver dishes and spaced out time wise nicely from the garlic naan. We enjoyed the garlic naan so much that we ordered another round of it. Mistake our not, we could barely eat it when it arrived as we were full yet had a nice dish of leftovers to take home. Absolutely amazing! From the food to the service...5 stars all the way. Mint and Kashmiri naan were incredible. Flaky and bursting with filling. The Indian iced tea was perfectly spiced and refreshing. I had the Kashmiri chicken and am fighting my daughter for the leftovers . Hubs got the vegetable saag and it was perfectly spiced. Just a slight bite to it. Delicious. Daughter got the chicken curry and had to refrain from licking the plate. Wiped it clean with some of the naan. What a wonderful find this little gem is. I had dinner with a friend here last evening. Casual ambience right on Grand Avenue. Probably the best chicken tiki Masala I have had in the Twin Cities! Tender, spice level was moderate-hot, just the right amount of kick for me (I like it hot!). Abundance of rice! The service was excellent with water glasses constantly refilled by young male team member. Reasonable bottled beer prices, as were most entrees, around $15.99. I have never written a review like this before, but what happened here deserves to be shared. Our entire experience felt like a setup from the moment we sat down. We were given a menu with completely normal prices and dishes. There was no mention of any fixed price, no $100 dinner, nothing unusual. But what we received was not what we ordered. The dishes were different, smelled bad, and were not edible. It was confusing, uncomfortable, and far below any acceptable standard for a restaurant that claims to offer a fine dining experience. The real problem came at the end: without any warning, breakdown, or explanation, the restaurant handed us a $503 bill. No one told us that we would be charged this amount. No staff member explained anything. There was no menu showing these prices. It was shocking and felt like a deliberate attempt to overcharge and mislead us. I am leaving this review so others don't experience the same treatment. No restaurant should hide prices, mislead customers, and serve food of such low quality. This was not a misunderstanding -- this was completely unacceptable and extremely disappointing. read more

I went to India House with my boyfriend on a Saturday early evening for dinner. It is located within a larger building so you have to go through 2 entrances before entering the restaurant. India House has a good vibe as the table settings are nice and the service was prompt. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the chicken tandoori with a side of cheese naan. Looking back I did not need to order the cheese naan as so much rice came with the chicken tikka masala. The chicken tikka masala was the best tikka masala I have ever had! In addition the chicken tandoori was incredible, the chicken was super flavorful and tender. I will definitely be coming back for more Indian food! read more

Please don't go to this restaurant unless you want to be fooled by the management. They said closed at 8 pm when clearly it's 10 pm online. Also we went second time to give benefit of doubt but they are Just rude people and bad food service. They clearly miss out on customer service. I think most of the reviews are fake. We placed our order online with BentoBox for pickup. Seemed easy enough. Love Indian. They were open on Easter. Got a text confirming the order with a window when it would be ready. We arrived at the restaurant at the time the order said it would be ready. Then we got a text message saying it was ready. When we entered the restaurant for pick up, we were told it would be at least another half hour. We asked why we got a text saying it was ready and we're told all the texts were automated. Thankfully it was only ten minutes later and ready but it's difficult to understand why India House uses this service if it's not accurate. The food was good. We ordered all items medium (never quite sure spicy scale when trying a new place). The Chicken Makhani was surprisingly spicy. We didn't seem to be the only customers caught in the order ready - timing issue. There were six or so others waiting. Labor shortages are real and the employee mentioned the kitchen was backed up. I took my daughters to this restaurant and offered the dinner for two. It was more than enough for the three of us. The chicken was cooked to perfection- tender and seasoned well. My youngest doesn't tolerate spice well and this was not a problem. I highly recommend their mango lassi - refreshing and not too sweet. They also kindly made an exception to the dessert option to accommodate my girls' requests. Service was a little bumpy, perhaps training someone in, but not enough to not recommend. read more

India House is great for midweek takeout! I've ordered India House takeout through Uber Eats and their website, and have not been disappointed! While the heat was less than I preferred the first time I tried India House, the food was flavorful. I like to order two meals so I have leftovers, and I can usually stretch these meals to as many as four meals with India House's moderate portion sizes. I have tried the chicken vindaloo (yummy spice, gluten-free), palak paneer (comforting, vegetarian, gluten-free), and the chicken makhani (like a comforting butter chicken, gluten-free). All three are yummy meals that provide warmth and comfort! The service was quick and friendly when I picked up everything, and a decent number of patrons were eating in the restaurant for a weeknight.
