I ordered online and went to pick it up. I think this greatly affected my experience and if I had ordered in person or gotten delivery I would have a higher rating. Pros: Tasty food, nice staff, great prices. Cons: Horrible location and vibe. It is a truck stop, but the outside is very run down (The inside is fine). A lot of my order was wrong. I think they didn't have all of it in stock or available, but it didn't reflect that online. Since I haven't eaten here before, I also wasn't sure what was incorrect online, a substitution, or a mistake. If you are using the truck stop and going in person to eat, this would be a great option. But as someone who found it online for a dinner take-out, I was disappointed. read more

This place is hidden away in a truck stop in St. Paul. Not the easiest to find but not terribly difficult if you know what you are looking for once you are in the general area We stiped by for lunch on the weekend with a big group for a birthday lunch. They run a buffet lunch on the weekends and bring out fresh paratha and naans to your table which is different than other Indian buffet places in the city and a very welcome addition in my opinion. They had a pretty decent selection of dishes in the buffet including some rare dishes hard to find at other places like beef nihari and paya which is not very common. The food is more Pakistani than Indian. So if you want to try out dishes that are different than your normal Indian fare in most buffets around town, this is a definitely something you should try out. There were a couple of things that stood out from the dishes. The mutton curry and the chickpea curry were really good. The biryani, nihari and paya were ok. There were a bunch of fruits and desserts which were very good. They charge about 20 some dollars for the buffet which might seem a little steep but considering the choices and other prices around town, it is not out of line. The price also includes a soft drink. Overall, I am happy to have a Pakistani restaurant in town and will be going here to support them and would recommend to those that want to try something different. This is a really great Pakistani spot tucked away in a truck stop. Once you navigate through the truck lot and enter, the ambiance is surprisingly nice with decorations and plenty of tables and booths. The service was great and the server explained what was available and highlighted some favorites. We ordered several dishes including butter chicken, chana masala, mutton biryani, naan, and a refreshing glass of mango lassi. We loved it all, but especially enjoyed the chana masala and butter chicken. Buffet is offered on the weekends, so we'll definitely be going back for that. This place is tucked away in a truck stop and if you blink could land on the other side of the building where there is an American cuisine restaurant but that closes at 1pm. The place was not hard to find with plenty of parking available (it is of-course in a truck stop). Would not recommend sitting outside as the smell of the nearby plants on the Mississippi do not make it a pleasurable experience. Inside was actually fairly nice, clean with ample seating space and the customer service was good also. Went there on a Friday afternoon and saw on the counter the piling of take out orders. Looks like the sit down business booms with the weekend buffet only. I was really excited to try the food. Got the chicken biryani and it looked amazing with very generous portion size. But when it came down to the taste, it was unfortunately mid at best. There was hardly any chicken in there and had lots of potatoes, both of which are a turnoff for me in a biryani and hence docking a star. The guys at the counter recommended the weekend buffet so will give that a try and update the review accordingly. read more

This place is really great. I went there with a Pakistani friend and he said this was the best Pakistani place in the twin cities. I don't have any other places here to compare but it was as good as the best Pakistani place that I've been to (Al Watan tandoori by LAX), but there was less selection here because this place is a tiny hole in the wall. It's actually a little sketchy, you have to either go through the truck stop or around to the back. It's probably NOT a great spot for a first date unless you really want to test out your date to see if they will meet you behind a gas station in a gritty industrial neighborhood. Of course the biryani is recommended, but the chicken korma and nihari were also great. Of course mango lassi is good. The kulfi popsicle was good too. They were out of the faloodeh so I'm deducting one point. read more

They have the best Indian/pakistani food among all the twin city south restaurants that I've tried. I think the difference is that they make limited dishes each day and don't have 20-30+ dishes like other restaurants. Therefore you can only order what they have made for the day which differs from each day except for few dishes like biriyani. They have traditional south Asian dishes like butter chicken as well some Pakistani dishes like Nihari etc. Every dish I've had has been outstanding. If you are looking for some authentic south Asian dishes this would be the place compared to most Indian restaurants in twin cities.
