three takeout containers of rice and beans

My nephew and I wanted to try Indian food for the first time. The owner was super helpful and very generous with portions. Everything tasted amazing great spices and tender meat. They have vegetarian options as well. Everything is made fresh daily if you're in the area and want some tasty food go here. I wish they had seating but will definitely go back

I'm new to the area and I've been checking out the nearby restaurants. Most I'm not that crazy about but this place, wow! The food is incredible. I asked the owner what he recommended and he suggested the chick peas along with some chicken masala. He also added a bit of salad and some type of sauce. It was delicious! He said I wouldn't be disappointed and he was correct. I haven't eaten a lot of Indian food in the past but that's about to change. I will definitely be returning. The food is wonderful and the owner was really nice. I highly recommend.

Small place with a rotating menu. The chicken hariyali was good but what I really LOVED were the chicken masala and chicken 65. I'll never forgive myself for neglecting Indian cuisine for the first three decades of my life!

Had to renew my license and had the pleasure of getting lunch here. It was a long wait for the dmv and I needed some lunch. I chatted with who I think was the owner and he was am absolute delight. He made a platter and everything was amazing. The saag was very good and I normally don't like it. The chicken and goat were amazing. Rice was fluffy and awesome. Do yourself a favor and get this food from a good person

Some gross food from a terrible new takeout place.

It was a nice walk over the Mississippi River. The place is cozy and very clean. We were welcomed with so much warmth it was like having home cooking. We started out with the bread with feta. It was so good with the right amount of seasonings. I wanted to try the dowjic soup so I ordered a cup. I loved it! Yes it's lemony and has a lot of garlic which you could think is a lot of salt but these bright tangy flavors were right up my alley. Not to mention that with all that lemon and garlic it's great for your immune system. After a long flight this hit the spot. For entrees I had the bakla with chicken. So healthy and fresh. The rice had dill. Very tasty. My dad and his girlfriend had the Sheik Babani. They loved it. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back on a Saturday in order to try the chicken Tawa which is only available Fridays and Saturdays. We had first gone there on Thursday. So glad we got a chance to try that too because the chicken was so tender and flavorful. Wish we were able to go again but they were closed Monday on our last day. Congrats to all the staff and owners for making this family restaurant a special place to eat.

The service was great and friendly. Prices are reasonable. If you're not big on tart food, then don't get the dowjic soup because it has a lot of lemon juice. The soup was good with bread to tame down the tartness. The food was flavorful and not overpowering with spices like Indian cuisine.

We arrived and waited for a few minutes. The server eventually came out from the back and told us to sit anywhere. No greeting, no niceties. We skated over to a booth, as the floors had a layer of grime on them and were very slippery. The decorations were very cool. We definitely got the 50s diner vibe. Our server came over and took our order. She had zero personality. There were no introductions and she kept the conversation to one word sentences. She treated us like she'd rather have us leave then stay an eat. We were friendly throughout the dining experience. We did notice that the server was very pleasant with the other staff and all the male patrons, calling them "hon" and asking them if they need anything else. She did not extend any of these courtesies to our table of two women. It was bizarre and completely ruined our final experience in St. Paul. The food was overly expensive for very so-so diner food. The sausage patties were dried out. The eggs were overcooked. The rest was just fine, but not worth the price of over $40 for two basic meals (during the early bird time period) and two coffees. Lastly, it seemed like the smoke from the flat top was vented, but there was a smell of old cooking oil lingering in the restaurant. The whole experience was not good. It was one of the worst dining experiences we've had, and we do not expect or require a lot. We make no alterations to our food and we're friendly diners and tip well. This was a huge disappointment.

Probably THE best chicken drumsticks we've ever had! Whatever that orange colored dry rub was, was so flavorful with a little kick. It was not oily and the meat fell off the bone at first bite. The fries were hot and crispy, not soggy. The beef sambusas were so delicious, generously seasoned, and a larger triangle size, paired with their house green sauce that we could literally drink. The fries were the best part, very good - even after being in a to go container. Had we reinvigorated them in the air fryer they would have been even better. Chicken was good, but not great. Spice level was accurate. Cole slaw was warm, which is not a temperature cole slaw should be. The sauce that comes with is not my thing, and the 16 year old said it was a copy or Raising Canes sauce.
