Egg curry & aloo bhorta combo
Kalpana R.

This is my fav lunch food truck for Indian/Bengali food. The truck is run by a Bangladeshi couple and some of their items are Bengali tasting; a cuisine which the Pacific NW is lacking in. The best part about this food truck is that they offer more than 10+ different curry options every day, along with samosa/chat/chai/coffee/paratha etc. I personally prefer ordering their vegetarian items because there is more variety of those everyday. My favs are eggplant, mutter paneer, egg curry and the occasional coconut veg curry or the bhortas they bring. And the masala chai is really, really good. Price wise I feel it is super cheap for the quantity and quality of food you get which is typically 2 curries + rice + lil bit of salad and a small roti. For 2 veggie curries it is $7 if you pay by cash or $7.50 if you pay by card. You pay a $1 more if you choose one or both non veg curries. They do have a few dishes which are usually on the oilier side (looking at you kala chana!) but if you try out their food multiple times, you know which ones are oily vs spicy vs mild. Or just ask them! (They are the sweetest food truck owners I have ever met). There is some scope of improvement though (isnt there always?): my main gripe is with the chapati they give which is something they buy in bulk frozen and warm it up before serving. Hope they can give a better quality of chapati. But even with that, I will look forward to coming here for my lunch!

This is post my meal. Check out the pond of oil !! Disgusting.

Extremely small portion. VERY VERY OILY. I ordered okra fry, mattar paneer and requested them to give me rotis instead of rice, for lunch. I didn't realize they would be giving me frozen rotis!! AWFUL. They try and fill your box with salad so they can skimp on the actual food. Naansense is much much better although they may charge a dollar or two more. I wish I could give zero stars on Yelp.

Had the Chicken Curry with Lentils and Palak Paneer.

Had the chicken curry with half lentils and half palak paneer. This is there non-veg deal for $8 and comes with one naan. Really liked the chicken curry, though I was warned that it would be spicy and it wasn't ;) Both vegetarian sides were quite good as well, so I will be back.

Combo meal of rice, vegetables (inedible), chicken tikka masala and shrimp (well two small shrimps). I will not eat here again.

Had the 2 curry combo for $8.50 plus tip. Both curries were lacking in flavor (not enough taste) with basically no shrimp and some dry chicken. Vegetables were inedible. Picture has been posted for your preview. I also added a $3 vegetable samosa that was small but filling. Without that I would have rated this place a 1.

Oil city. Not enough food. If you're into small amounts of ok-tasting food with lots of oil, this is your new favorite food truck.

This is the best Indian food truck around South Lake Union. I really enjoy their food. Huge portions and tasty dishes.

Food truck at SLU. Very little tasteless curry and compensated with a lot of rice. Poor quality.

Ummmm. Very interesting. Let me start by saying the Skippers seafood was great and I will be back!…read more It was in a gas station which is fine but we entered from the front and had to look for where they cook the food and if they still were in business. We found it to the left behind a partitioned wall of snacks. No one was at the counter and there was a little bell. We had to "ring the bell" a few times to get service and then pay up front (where you pay for your gas). There was no one in the little dining area and It was very quite and it felt a little awkward eating in silence. I think it's quiet though because another person reviewed it saying the Indian music was so loud. ?? There were three menu topics. Teriyaki, Indian, Skippers. Like I said, the skippers fish and chips were good and The other items looked good too. Now that I know what to expect (and to use the side door). I'm sure my experience will be better Oh by the way, they do use Yelp for a 10% discount if you "like" them and they use door dash and grub hub if you want delivery.

I just wanted to stop by quickly for some Indian cuisine and get some gas along the way. Came…read moreacross this place which was right inside the gas station - confusing as both doors for the restaurant side were locked. Honestly it was pretty messy due to the renovation, tools laid out with bark dust, tables wasn't wiped down, and not a customer to be seen.... I hesitated and contemplated to leave. However one of staff told me to ring the bell - which was behind the counter, so I couldn't even see it. Yet again with insistence, figured out tables are available, and menu on TV screen was turned on with 3 monitors. Since I received this much attention, figured I'll give it a go. I went for mild chicken korma, mango lassie, and lamb biriyani with garlic naan. Food arrived promptly and it was a pretty large portion. Granted my expectations can be high, as I'm used to eating fresh backed oven naan, real mango lassie made from scratch, and more of white table setting... today, I just wanted something quick and move on with my day. Sadly the convenience came with a cost, as biriyani was so spicy I couldn't take more than a bite. Staff noticed as I couldn't hide my facial expression, and he kindly brought me water. Even korma, asked to be mild, was medium for my taste buds, and naan was covered in grease, not flavor. Mango lassi was sugary and sweet.... I've managed to eat 2/3rd and couldn't take another bite as it was so heavy, and contradictory hot and sweet made me nauseated. Perhaps it was a different region of Indian cuisine I just haven't had chance to come across, but it did not bode well for my personal preferences. They didn't charge me for the biriyani which I appreciated, and got out in half hour - so I've plenty of time left for the day. Next time I'll start asking the spice level before venturing to new Indian food. Service was genuine and I wanted to enjoy it, but it's more for people who likes a spicier side.
