As I continue transition into the Delaware area I seek to find authentic food spots. Spice N Nice 2 hits the spot. The first day I tried I was disappointed when I arrived at 6:15pm and not realizing that they close at 6pm. Bit of a shock for a NY'er only Wall St. closes that early. However, the next day I gave them a try during lunch time and it was definitely the proper choice. I ordered the small Jerk Chicken (definitely filling) with rice and peas, mixed veg and plantains definitely delicious definitely reminded me of my aunties rice. Love it! definitely going back.

I visited because of a recommendation from a coworker and I'm so glad I followed through! Their curry chicken was so tasty and the portion size is great. We also tried their jerk chicken and the meat was so tender that it fell right off of the bone. Will be coming back again! (Curry Chicken was $12 and jerk chicken side was $5)

There are a few JA restaurants in DE, but this 2 store chain is the best JA food experience I've had so far in De. I've been going to them from their days when they only had the 1 (Spice and Nice) restaurant off Route 9--still there. It still doesn't comes close to a Flatbush/ Utica Ave Brooklyn experience, but for a DE experience it's on top! The Patty is really good and always fresh from my experience. Oxtail, Curry Chicken and stew Chicken are my favorites. The only negative to this chain is the wait time as they're clearly on Jamaican time! I highly suggest anyone thinking of making a 'quick' stop in to get that out of your mind. You'll just end up going there and wait forever on the food and probably get so annoyed you probably not got back. With that said CALL AHEAD and with that add a few minutes of wait time in the planning on top of that. After many times getting there and twiddling my thumbs I've come to just accept its just a JA ting. I've just come to realize it's part of the experience and I plan accordingly as I suggested earlier. The food just keeps me going back! Tip: when calling know that they're actually there. They just take a little longer to answer the phones--again they're in JA speed mode :) At times they get so busy they don't even answer! Again the food keeps me going back!

Food is good when they have any . They close early, run out of menu items, no selection. I'll never go back, better off going to D&H

The food in this restaurant is really good but their lack of customer service skills is quite undesirable.

Food has a great taste and they give a nice amount. I would suggest ordering ahead because it tends to be crowded and you will be waiting.

We decided to try Pearl of the Antilles takeout for a date night since it had recently opened. The…read morefood was solid, and the owner's hospitality stood out. Overall Ratings: Restaurant: (3/5) Service: (5/5) Food: (4/5) Parking: Free parking lot Atmosphere: A typical takeout spot with a few tables for those who choose to dine in--nothing particularly remarkable. Service: The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, which my girlfriend especially appreciated. Their hospitality was a highlight of our experience. Food: We ordered: - Jerk Chicken - Flavorful but slightly dry - Creole Stew Chicken - Delicious - Sides (Rice & Beans, Steamed Cabbage with Carrots) - Absolutely delicious and complemented the entrées well - Spicy Slaw - Great flavor with a nice kick, but the portion was surprisingly small (served in a tiny sauce container) If ordering outside of DoorDash or other platforms, the side dish options can be unclear. Not all sides are included with meals, and some require an extra charge, which could be better communicated. Final Thoughts: Good food, excellent service, and a place we'd happily return to!

I came in right at 12:00 when they were open to get lunch. The doors were still locked so I placed an order over the phone and it took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready. They have a $12 lunch special where you can choose between jerk chicken or creole stew chicken, two sides and a can of soda. I tried the jerk chicken and it was delicious. The chicken was flavorful and the rice and peas offset the spice from the chicken. I also got a side of plantains. They had a nice flavor and crunch. Don't expect fast service everything is made to order so give yourself some time if you decide to order .
