However, once I did I was blown away. Right when I entered I was hit with such an upbeat vibe. The late 90s and early 2000s hip hop and R&B tracks that were playing really livened up the place. More importantly, my meal was exquisite. I had the curried goat with red beans / rice and broccoli. The goat was sooooo delicious and the meat was so tender. I also ordered coco bread that was perfect for dipping into the currry sauce. The beans and rice as well as the broccoli were perfectly cooked and elegantly complimented the goat. I also ordered a Ting (Grapefruit) soda that was also very tasty and unique. Lastly, I had the red bean pie for dessert and wow was it good! It probably would have gone great with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Anway, back to the vibe, I typically prefer quiet places when I dine, but the vibe here worked well for me. I really liked the music and the upbeat atmosphere of the venue. The dining area was also very open and didn't at all feel stuffy like some other more posh places I've been to. Just a cool laid back place where you can enjoy some good music and great food. To close, every item I had was excellent and perfectly cooked. In fact, I have to say this is ranked up there with one of the best dining experiences I've had and, if I wasn't going back on my pre-summer-time diet, I'd probably become a regular. Regardless, I will definitely be making a trip back in the not so distant future, perhaps on a cheat day.

The chicken was okay, the sauce was watery runny, not as thick as it should be. The cabbage was un seasoned and very bland. They didn't have plantain so I substituted mac and cheese. It was served as a big square hunk served in a dish that just came out of the microwave. It had a bland taste to it as well. The cook should be ashamed of himself. They got me for $25.00 plus tip. That's not what I'm used to eating when the places in Philly are on point. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. They really need to do better. They got me this time, but won't get me again.

Overall Ratings: Restaurant: (3/5) Service: (5/5) Food: (4/5) Parking: Free parking lot Atmosphere: A typical takeout spot with a few tables for those who choose to dine in--nothing particularly remarkable. Service: The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, which my girlfriend especially appreciated. Their hospitality was a highlight of our experience. Food: We ordered: - Jerk Chicken - Flavorful but slightly dry - Creole Stew Chicken - Delicious - Sides (Rice & Beans, Steamed Cabbage with Carrots) - Absolutely delicious and complemented the entrées well - Spicy Slaw - Great flavor with a nice kick, but the portion was surprisingly small (served in a tiny sauce container) If ordering outside of DoorDash or other platforms, the side dish options can be unclear. Not all sides are included with meals, and some require an extra charge, which could be better communicated. Final Thoughts: Good food, excellent service, and a place we'd happily return to!

I came in right at 12:00 when they were open to get lunch. The doors were still locked so I placed an order over the phone and it took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready. They have a $12 lunch special where you can choose between jerk chicken or creole stew chicken, two sides and a can of soda. I tried the jerk chicken and it was delicious. The chicken was flavorful and the rice and peas offset the spice from the chicken. I also got a side of plantains. They had a nice flavor and crunch. Don't expect fast service everything is made to order so give yourself some time if you decide to order .
