    15. Chicken Kabab Platter
    Juliet V.

Wow, why didn't I know this place was here?!? It's been here for a while and we just ordered takeout for the first time. I got the mixed kabab grill over Kabuli rice with salad. The portion was extremely generous and the meat was tender and well seasoned. I got to try many different types of meat. The rice was very tasty with raisins and good flavor. Even the salad was nice with a good variety of vegetables. The naan had a great flavor and texture. Others in my party had a Chicken kabob platter and a Chicken Afghani Boti platter and were equally pleased. My son had Butter Chicken Curry. It was very good but I'm surprised it didn't come with rice. The price is very fair for this wonderful quality food. I look forward to ordering again.

I wanted to try a new place and just decided to order a whole bunch of stuff and try a little bit of everything. Got roghni naan, nihari, veggie pakora, mixed veggie, and chicken kabob. The good news is that I tried a bite of everything and it was all amazing. The (not) bad news is that I have all my meals for the next two days covered because there is so much! Will definitely order it again.

This has quickly become a favorite "go to" restaurant for us. The food is delicious - wonderfully seasoned, generous portions at reasonable prices and great service. Highly recommend the chicken karahi and the kabob platters. I'm a huge fan of their Peshawari Kahwa tea. It's a in house blend of green tea and spices. We haven't had anything that we wouldn't order again or recommend. If you're looking for homemade, authentic, delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere with really nice people, this is the place.

    19. Chicken Gyro Over Rice
    Afnan A.

Came here to grab some food for Ramadan since I was too busy to cook food at home. I ordered chicken gyro over rice and was surprised at how good it was. I usually never buy chicken gyro over rice in Albany because most of the time, the portions or the flavor is just not there. But this place nailed it. It was really good. The sauce that comes with it also added along the extra flavors that you need and it makes you feel more than full after you finish it. Would love to more food in the future when I come back here again!

Wow the curry was delicious. Beware... it's spicy! The chicken was so soft and tender. The chicken and rice is more tolerable. What I did not like was getting charged for water. When you ask for water it's usually tap water and if it is bottled water you should be told it will be $2.00/bottle. I don't mind paying for water but I feel like I should have been told. Sorry lost a star for that . Either than that, yummy, recommended.

Oh Ghee... Broken sauce. 42. Tikka Masala Extra Rice Serving Plain Naan

Early October 2021, understood help is scarce.. and actually, service was very friendly. There are a few things I didn't care for, the salad in a foil wrapper.. slightly wet and wilted from conducting the heat of the hot dish it was placed beside. Salad in foil 100% bad idea. The naan was heavy and dry, not playable or light.. I liked that they placed it beneath the warm food covered w/foil to keep it warm but by the time I sat to eat, (I live 3 minutes away) it was brittle and dense and very hard to chew. The rice was ok but it's rice, photo shows the "extra" portion.. I'm not sure what regular is, but it's more than enough for me, w/the intent to have left overs. That leftover plan failed, tikka was spicy, far too spicy when the order requested MILD. By the time I was home, the sauce had broken & mixing it, didn't help. Too much ghee. The underlying flavor was good, but without being able to eat & sop up the the creamy sauce with the rice & naan it was disappointing. I really wanted to like it, but the whole dish and first time experience was lackluster. As I tried to make something of a meal out of the order, Nose running, eyes watering from the spice... the broken sauce the pools of orange ghee congealing, I just gave up.

Loveeed this little restaurant! The desi vibes are on point. The food was really good and reminded of Lahore!

So so good! Loved the vibes. The breakfast halwa puri was so delish! Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have a desi lahori breakfast!

Very good overall! Probably the closest to authentic Pakistani food out of all the other restaurants in the area!

    Halwa Puri

This place serves the best, and I repeat.. the BEST halwa puri that I have ever eaten until now. The halwa is beautiful in texture, the puris are very soft. But the chaney (chaney masala) in the serving steals the show. It is an absolute delight! Amazing food, light on the pockets. Conveniently located from Albany downtown. I strongly recommend visiting this place!

Oil that was used for few weeks. Service was a take out order. So good and fast. Some people were sitting for lunch buffet. Naans were dry and rubbery. Poori looked and tasted like white tortilla flat bread fried. I don't know what to get couple good authentic Pakistani dishes around. Sheesh kebab was okay, it was that $2 chicken kebab chopped with some onions n green peppers and lemon and they charged me $15 for it. $45 down the hole. Raita was too sweet and carroty. It's basically American version of Desi food. They just took the Desi out of it. Kashmiri naan was just the most unappetizing orange colored thing with coconut shreds in the folds. What happened to almond shreds and raisins on Kashmiri naan. Post Covid times, food is just super expensive and the quality is gone. I am done. I want to really post a great food review, that will make my taste buds sizzle with flavors.

Impressed that they received a 100% compliance score from Health Department. No violations. Bravo! One complaint: Buffet starts at 11:00, yet Naan was not put out until 11:50. However, the Plain Naan was warm and very good! I was selective about what I put on my plate. Again, Tandoori Chicken was overdone--dry and tough even the thigh piece I tried to eat. Not okay. Chili Chicken is good. It is similar to Chinese Sesame Chicken. Tikka Masala was very good with tender chicken. Spinach with chickpeas was good. The two rice choices were nice and hot. The Mulligatawny Soup was lukewarm and thin and spicy as expected. Cabbage is excellent! Nice flavor and cooked well. Dessert was their regular rice dish that I did not want to eat. No Goat dishes offered today. They are usually good.. Restaurant seating is booths and tables.

The chicken tikka masala is nice and creamy and doesn't have a strong tomato taste like some places, which I appreciate. Everyone that works there is super nice. The menu is pretty extensive for the seemingly small kitchen space you can see behind the counter. My vegetable samosas (2) were piping hot and had a decent amount of "not potato" in them, accompanied by 2 sauces. The Chicken Tikka Masala Bowl includes a generous amount of well-prepared rice. Normally I pass on rice except as a vehicle for sauce, but I finished this. The sauce had a reasonably deep red color and an enjoyable spicy flavor, maybe a little less tomato flavor than I've had elsewhere, but still quite good. Naan, wrapped in foil, is fresh and hot, but not necessarily crisp. Flavored naans will have the flavors as a stuffing. My mango lassi was excellent - I almost wanted to steal a larger milkshake cup from nearby Herbie's and ask for that to be filled up instead. All in all, if you are looking for an Indian meal while at Galleria 7, you will be very satisfied here.

Reviewing this spot again after nearly 4 years!…read more In my eyes, this spot has withstood the test of time. Maharaja still holds a dear place in my heart. The food is always exactly what I'm hoping for, and the service is always quick. I don't have to wait very long to get my food, and I always leave happy. My go-to is the Chicken Vindaloo. I have a pretty solid heat tolerance, and I don't recommend this to anyone that can't handle a bit of heat... I sometimes find myself sweating after this dish, but it is so worth it. My wife orders the Chicken Tikka Masala and it's also very delicious. I've tried a few chicken tikka masala dishes in the area (by extension of my wife) and this is my favorite. The sauce is a rich, buttery sauce that tastes amazing, and the chicken is always so tender. We share a helping of rice for the chicken tikka masala and vindaloo. It is plenty of food and we typically leave with leftovers (which reheat nicely). I do also love the copper-wear. Some of the appliances are getting a bit dented, and unfortunately the window in the front is cracked and I notice these small things, but the food is good enough for me to look past that.

During my visit, I ordered the classic yellow dal tadka and Kashmiri dum aloo and both exceeded my expectations. The dal tadka was comforting and beautifully prepared, with the perfect consistency and a well-balanced tempering that enhanced the natural flavor of the lentils without overpowering them. It had that unmistakable homemade, authentic Indian taste that is surprisingly hard to find. The Kashmiri dum aloo was outstanding. The potatoes were perfectly cooked, absorbing the rich, aromatic gravy infused with traditional spices. The depth of flavor, subtle heat, and creamy texture were exactly how this dish should be prepared. Honestly, I haven't tasted such an authentic and well-executed Kashmiri dum aloo anywhere in America. Ambience was very nice and service was exceptional too. If you are looking for genuine Indian flavors prepared with care and authenticity, I highly recommend this restaurant. It delivers both quality and taste in every bite.
