Out of all the times I've been there, the repair shop has had terrible customer service. I've had to deal with a man who works there named Tim who has always been unfriendly and disrespectful to customers. Another thing I've noticed about the auto mechanic, Tim is that he seems to be pissed off all the time. One time, when I was about to move to Los Angeles, my car was having problems and the motor got loud after I hit a curb that I didn't see. Sometimes, old cars are like that, and my old car had a lot of other similar problems when I got them fixed but they weren't fixed for very long. When I brought my car in to get looked at, Tim told me that he would take a look and let me know if there are any problems. An hour or 2 later, I got a call from Tim, and he told me that my car was severely damaged and that it can't be driven just because hitting the curb damaged a lot of things to that car. He blamed me for the damage and told me that he thinks I'm a bad driver even though I'm not. I explicitly told Tim that I was under a lot of stress and that I have to get on the road in a couple days to move to my new home and that I have no other choice. Tim didn't even care how I felt, and he told me that if I want the car fixed, I would have to pay $1600 which was a lot of money to spend out of my budget when I needed to save up most of my money for my move to LA. He also told me that he thinks I should sell my car and then fly to LA and buy a new one there if I don't want to pay the $1600. He even told me to come back over so that he could talk to me in person and show me what kinds of problems there were with my old car. Because I was in a very tough situation and on a very tight schedule and wanted to be able to get on the road to California on time, I just told Tim to fix the car as soon as possible and that I would pay the money for it. The repair took longer than I expected and all I did was hang out around the area all day but never went home. When I went back into the repair shop, I asked Tim if he could give me my keys to my apartment so that I could go home and rest until my car got fixed, but he refused to do that, and he threatened me by telling that if he gives me my apartment keys that I'll have to postpone my car repair and wait until the next day. I said no to that, and that I need it done as soon as possible so that I can get on the road on time. I spent all day waiting for my car to get fixed, and as it got closer to the time that Broadway Tire & Auto closed, I got a call from Tim letting me know that my car has been repaired and was ready to be picked up. When I got there and paid the money, my car was not in the parking lot, and when I asked Tim where my car was, he told me in a mean way that the mechanics were still finishing my car repair but that they'd leave it with me as soon as they were done. This made things even more frustrating that day, but as soon as I paid for my car repair and left, I knew that I shouldn't go back to this place again for car repairs or any other type of car maintenance. And even later on, my old car started to have a lot of mechanical problems again shortly after I got it repaired there. I do not recommend Broadway Tire & Auto. The mechanics that work there as well as the manager, Tim are very unfriendly, and they take advantage of people and try to rip them off by charging more money than most people can afford. If you don't want to be put in a tough car situation like I was in at Broadway Tire & Auto, then I'd say it's not worth it.

I'm told that hired help is so hard to find that the only apparent job skill needed is a pulse. I don't actually believe that. But so often I'm finding it to be the only trait I can identify when I'm face to face with many of the front line workers on any given day. This afternoon I entered the auto parts store. One of countless that I've navigated during my life's numerous car issues since 1984 id say. Back as a teenager I wasn't qualified to work at such a place because I was uncomfortable in any position dealing with strangers. Not exactly shy, but not skilled in opening a conversation with strangers. I was good with mechanical stuff and could perform many basic maintenance needs for motorized as well as pedal powered machines. But because I only had a pulse at that time, I wasn't ready to enter the work force for the far distant future of the 21st century job market. Fast forward to 2021. I'm old by the standards of the millennials, old by my standards as I viewed anyone over 30 once upon a time. The 4 young men today at Auto Zone were all up at the front counter, one was at the cash wrap ringing up a paying customer. Two were standing, and talking about something, not busy nor were they completely doing anything of concern. Number four was aware that I was looking for something after I already looked for it and failing to locate it, returned to the front to ask. If you've ever been to any auto parts store in America, the way it works is you A) Go straight to the aisle and track it down yourself. B) Go to the area (for example air, oil, or fuel filters) where they are shelved and you'll see a couple paperback catalogs hanging from a cable or similar. You locate the make model and year of the vehicle you are working on and after learning this method (it's like learning the Dewey decimal system in the library, except the librarian isn't there to teach you, so generally a store employee might show you or, in my case dad did) you find the code and search among the secret number code scheme embedded into this mysterious car repair coven. C) You go to the counter and one of the presumably trained employees does (B) for you, or they use the modem computer system right up on the counter and go fetch your part from the cavernous warehouse behind the door. Today's MENSA applicant did a bit of B and C. He looked up the code on the computer. HE DID THIS BECAUSE THIS STORE DOESN'T Apparently have the catalog. In fact this shitty store only stocks ONE brand of filters period. STP. So he looks up the code, writes it down and hands it to me. At first I walked towards the wall of filters. I KNOW this f'n system. I KNOW how to read the catalog and how to find the parts. I KNOW how to do his job, but I'm NOT going to do it. In the case of auto parts stores not having these catalogs, it's standard practice to look up these scary coded numbers and then GO FETCH the parts for the paying customer. My main store always does this. Often when they're busy I'll happily go get the parts myself, I LIKE the fact that I'm one of the customers that can in fact DIY with absolute confidence AND COMPETENCE, hold my own in their sort of secret club. But when I go into a bozo outfit that employs dimwits that are both INCOMPETENT as well as LAZY, I am not so forgiving. Terrible customer service. I MIGHT be out of line in this review. But I don't believe I am. The manager of that store needs to know that the workers that are lazy should be working at his competitors store, not his. I didn't buy the filter at this store. I'll likely not return to this store. Good customer service brings repeat customers, lousy service brings words such as these.

We do a lot of home cooking, competition cooking and do cater small events. We had used a local…read morecompetitor for years for our products and supplies, but when GFS came to town, we decided to try them for a while. Initially things went well, we always got what we needed. We have stopped to shop and asked to have whole cold cuts and cheese sliced when there, but they did not have staff on hand to do it. These days we get asked to call ahead, never used to have to do that, what has changed? Often times we buy on the spot so don't have time to call ahead or drive back. Staff is mostly always nice, professional, store well appointed and clean. However, we started running into not being able to items we normally were able to get, sale items were out of stock when we drove the distance to get there. This doesn't help when you count on a service to help you meet regular needs, so we ended up going back to competitors more now that we have had better luck with. We will still use them, but we are much more careful and don't assume things will be readily available. Not sure if its corporate or management changes locally, but it used to be seamless. Don't advertise if you can't deliver the goods!
