I got a coconut cream pie latte, one of their summer specials. It was a bit on the pricier side (over $8 for a 16oz not including tip), but entirely WORTH IT! This is the best latte I've had this year--perfect if you like coconut cream cold brews but prefer something a little sweeter than a cold brew, like me. It's got coconut cold foam on top and was also topped with toasted coconut and what seemed like pie crumbs? So delicious It wasn't very busy in there and I got my drink super fast, the barista even walked it out to the table I was waiting at. Highlyyyy recommend this place for coffee! read more

We were in Wisconsin for the weekend and on our way back home I saw this delightful shop and imma sucker for chocolate. Figured they must have hit chocolate. 1. Upon walking in you immediately know you're going to love the place. It's so cute and cozy. There is indoor and outdoor seating, cute decor, and chocolate galore. 2. I ordered the drinkable hot chocolate. It was good, although a little thick. I would have wanted a bit of almond milk to thin it a bit but I loved how rich it was. My daughter also got the kids chocolate frappe (I think that's what it was called) she loved it! 3. We received one free truffle each since it our first time there. We ordered the mint, vanilla bean, and turtle truffles. I also ordered the sea salt caramel truffle and my daughter got a gaming boy stick chocolate. So cool. 4. We also tried their cookies so tasty! 5. The lady working was sooooo sweet. Omg, she truly was. I'm so sorry I didn't get her name but she made us feel welcome (almost everyone in Wisconsin made us feel that way) and she was no different. What a pleasant experience as we headed back home. Highly recommend that you drop in when you are in the Madison area! read more

Phenomenal pastries - all gluten free. Brownies and other things are truly authentic to the Madison Chocolate name. Drinks are splendid.

Have been a fan of Madison's Chocolates for a while, but recently visited to try their coffee & hot chocolate. The shop is cute and you can find a lot of assorted chocolate and treats. Worth noting there's not much room indoors for those looking to dine inside. I ordered an iced oat milk latte and a hot chocolate. The total was around $13 before tip. The iced oat milk latte was really good (great balance of espresso & milk). The hot chocolate was fantastic. So rich, decadent, and full of flavor! The perfect drink for a cold winter day. Overall, had a great time, would recommend their chocolates, coffee, and hot chocolate! read more

This place is amazing! It's highly appreciated by the celiac/gluten-free community and we're lucky to have this place in Madison. All of the food is fully gluten-free, the staff is always very friendly and outgoing, and both locations have cute little areas to sit. Probably one of the best cups of coffee I've had in Madison! read more

This is my absolute favorite coffee shop in Madison. I dream about the salted caramel latte constantly. Their ghost pepper caramel latte is also amazing. All of their pastries are gluten free and delicious as well. They also offer a large menu of chocolates with rotating/really interesting flavors. There is quite a bit of indoor and outdoor seating here and service is quick and always lovely. I'm truly obsessed with this space and it is a real gem to have in the Madison area. read more

This is a small exotic chocolate shop. I went for the hot chocolates. Ganache hot chocolate was good. Spicy hot chocolate was ok, Pumpkin bar was a nice snack. Chocolate in the display was very expensive. A box of 4 piece was $12. Spicy peanut butter chocolate was my favorite. Ghost pepper caramal was another exotic flavor of chocolate. Turtle caramal and raspberry cardamom chocolates were the other flavors I tried. read more

Madison Chocolate Company is such a warm and welcoming place. It's order at the counter offering coffee, pastries, and chocolate. The staff is very nice. We enjoyed lattes, a croissant, and a cheddar and chive pastry. The lattes were served in these big mugs and were really good. The pastries were also good! We grabbed a small box of salted caramel chocolates to take home and they were amazing. So fresh they just melted in my mouth. There's a few tables inside and some outdoor seating as well. I want to come back in the summer and sit outside. It's a great place to come to meet a friend or get some work done. They have a few shelves with local artists' work for sale. It's fun to look at everything while you wait for your order. They have everything from pottery to earrings, to candles. A nice place to find a gift for someone. They have a great location on Monroe street. It can be a bit challenging with parking. They have a small parking lot but you may need to find a side street to park. For people that live in the neighborhood, it's the perfect place to walk to. read more

Discovered Madison Chocolate Company in my quest to find awesome cinnamon rolls in this area. What I love about this place, even though I'm not a morning person, is that they make limited quantities of things on the weekend. So you have to be there early bird to get the best things. Because one can't just come to a place like this and walk away with one thing, I've also had cookies! I'm not gluten-free, but I appreciate that the offerings are and you "can't tell" as a non GF eater. There's definitely time and attention being put into the chocolates and all the things MCC offers. I follow the Instagram. Do that if you want to be in the know! This location is totally adorable. And car parking challenged. I'm very excited that a second location is opening nearer to me with a parking lot. I'm going to be a weekend regular when the west side spot opens. There enough early on the weekend to get the special weekend only limited edition items. read more

This is a great little cafe and chocolate shop. They have cool baked goods (really good brownies) that are a bit on the expensive side (some are $10) and great chocolates. The coffee is quite good too and they have a cute and eclectic collection of sweets, pottery, toys and clothing dotted throughout the store. It is pretty small with limited seating but in the summer some outside tables are available. Service is attentive and kind though sometimes things take a while. read more

GLUTEN FREE HEAVEN. Everything they make is GF and have a wonderful assortment of fresh baked goods daily. First time to Madison and was recommended to try out Madison Chocolate Company. We went for brunch on Sunday to try out their waffles that change flavors every so often. We ended up getting so many more things to try. Cinnamon rolls, the cheddar and chive quiche, pumpkin spice latte. Everything was so delicious we had to go back the next morning before we left to travel back home. Got to try the peach danish that was sold out on the weekend and I can now see why they were all gone! The workers were so friendly and accommodating! Megan was so nice to work with. I contacted her in April to find out what wedding favor options she had and she was so helpful showing the 2 box and 1 box options and explaining the popular chocolate flavors. The 2 box is the cutest with the gold logo and comes with a card saying what the chocolates are. The chocolates were rich dark chocolate with good mouth feel. It was perfect as they were smaller so my guests were able to enjoy, dinner, cake and chocolate. These were the perfect favors and I'd recommend Madison Chocolate to do wedding favors to anyone as they were affordable $5 a piece and they were delivered on time, and Megan was easy to work with. It's the day before Halloween and I search for a parking place on a rainy afternoon near Madison Chocolate Company on Glenway Street at Monroe Street. I will discover later that there is free parking on Glenway behind MCC's space but meanwhile park a block away on a tree-lined street dropping its golden leaves. This is a most welcome place to enter. There are just a few smooth steps and inside the door a burst of color surrounds the L-shaped space -- greens, purples, wood the color of honey. The large windows look out over Monroe Street and the arboretum woods. There are a few single tables on the long leg of the L, a round table in the corner window, and a larger rectangular table with a small sign on it that reads, 'Community Table' facing the street. The Community Table is unoccupied, seems to have the best view, and I choose it willing to share if the community shows up. Gluten-free chocolates, treats, waffles are offered and the variety of chocolate bars displayed on the Chocolate Library wall include Charm School Chocolate's Coconut Milk Chocolate vegan milk chocolate bar for $9.00. A red coconut curry dark chocolate bar from Patric Chocolate in Columbus, OH, is $14, and Dick Taylor from Humboldt County, Eureka, CA, is in their darkest bar section for $11. Why not pick up a pint of Jeni's ice cream or sorbet, the Riesling Poached Pear, for example. It's right there, in the small freezer. My spicy hot chocolate, served on a 12-oz cup and saucer, came through with the initial hit of cayenne spicy, warm, clearing in the back of the throat and lips, then settling down into an edgier chocolate. A blood orange and sea salt caramel chocolate accompanied the drink, mellow and melting with flavor. Total for this sweet corner of chocolate was $7.90. I will definitely return to Madison Chocolate Company. Their drink menu, including teas, espressos, and their chocolate offerings are extensive warranting more exploration. Check their website for classes and specials like quiche and gluten free waffles on Saturdays. And the Community Table -- a good choice. Enjoyed a pleasant conversation with a patron from the neighborhood. Brilliant idea MCC to create this space for community to form. read more

One of my favorite places! I've tried many of their chocolates and have loved them all. Not only is the chocolate delicious, their drinks are A+! Brought a relative here who is a big coffee person and out of everything he tried in Madison, Madison Chocolate Co. won for best beverage! During the summer, their lavender lattes and lavender lemonades are sooooooo good. Decent little chocolate shop across the street from the arboretum and Lake Wingra. The single source sipping chocolate was delightful and came served with little side of whipped cream. The sipping chocolate was thick and rich with a nice texture. Companion sampled the spiced hot chocolate which she thoroughly enjoyed. They also have some interesting house made chocolates. I wasn't a fan of of the curry coconut chocolate, despite my love of current. This said the Ghost Chili Truffle - Shazam... you really need to just order one and give it a shot Note there is parking in the back of the building which can be a big plus in this neighbor. read more

I've been in love with Megan's chocolate since first trying it at a CSA event at monona terrace several years ago. Megan is a wonderfully sweet and considerate woman who im so glad we had the pleasure to meet and We're super happy for her. So great to have a safe gf place for celiacs to dine ! The danish, cookies and croissants are delicious

I finally made it in here, and I'm sure glad I did! I will admit that when they first opened I was torn between "what, another chocolate place in Madison?" And "sweet, another chocolate place in Madison!" But then I tried the truffles and oh my good goodness, yes please, can I have more? The Coconut Convert is oh so good, and the Blood Orange truffle literally melts in your mouth. I can't wait to try more! I have heard the the espresso drinks are delicious, and I'll certainly be back soon to try them. They've got a very cute shop, great location with a few parking spots to call their own behind the building. Friendly and knowledgeable service. I was there on a Saturday evening, and there was a bit of a line at the counter the entire time I was there. Only dislike (and I know it's a personal thing): way too many caramel things. I'd love to try a ghost pepper truffle if it didn't have caramel. For the first time in my life, I stood in front of a display case of chocolates and had difficulty picking out two things I would like. Not difficulty narrowing it down, difficulty finding two things I would enjoy. (Yes, I know two of one thing is an option). (And yes, I know how I sound). Luckily, a new option presented itself at the last second and saved the day. I love all the wonderful chocolate options we have, and will continue to visit them all; Madison Chocolate Co will definitely on the list read more

went here this morning for the first time after seeing their instagram. the dedicated gluten free facility makes this an amazing spot for people with celiac. they are one of the only gluten free bakeries iv been to that does danishes and other pastries that are usually never gluten free. the blueberry danish was baked so well and the latte was very smooth. My wife ordered a stocking stuffer from the Madison Chocolate Company two weeks in advance of scheduled pick up (pandemic times are strange). By the time of pick up, the in-house item that she had ordered was apparently no longer in stock and hadn't been set aside at the time of order. Just before pick up, Madison Chocolate notified her of this and suggested a replacement product. The replacement was a sugar-free Belgian chocolate containing Stevia (not at all like the original order). It was terrible, chalky, not smooth. Why any chocolatier would ever suggest that this is a replacement for a fine chocolate is beyond me. Poor recommendations, perhaps poor management (late need for substitution, carrying a really poor product), and definitely a poor customer experience. Not a winning combination. I recommend shopping elsewhere. read more

A great selection of housemade chocolates/truffles/desserts to go along with a well curated selection of chocolates made by other chocolatiers. Stopped in for the first time this morning and they swept me off my feet! It has a relaxed, quaint atmosphere with good light and maybe 6-8 tables? Seems right sized for this area. There is a window where you can watch chocolates being made in the back. The front of the house manager was happy to walk me through their menu. She made me feel so welcome! And they had house-made chocolate samples at the counter. Sold! A $10 box of four (bourbon butter, liquid salted caramel, raspberry cardamom and blood orange) went to work with me and they got rave reviews. The drink menu was really interesting. They have espresso, chocolate and lots of specialty hot tea drinks made with their own flavorings. Of course you can also get a regular cup of coffee and tea, too. I tried the Ghost Pepper Caramel Latte, light on the flavoring (I said I didn't want it too sweet). It was outstanding. Lots of craft brands of chocolate bars to buy (20 or more?), and other fun gifts. They also had a few more perishable house treats (cherry handpies, brownies). On the weekends they advertised a waffle day and pies. Definitely a great place to make a special trip with friends, or swing by for a cup of coffee in the morning *andchocolates*. I'll be back! Such a thoughtful approach to the neighborhood confectionery and coffee shop. Convenient parking is in the rear of the building. read more

This place hands down my new favorite coffee place. I'm obsessed with coffee. In order for me to get through the day I have to have a cup of coffee or match tea. So I've been to my fair share of coffee shops in Madison WI seeing as how I was born and raised here. I've lived a lot of places and been to multiple coffee shops (even the original Starbucks in Seattle) and this one is STILL my fave. The reason why is the staff is so attentive and nice. Like actually nice, no the bull crappy kind of nice where they just want your business. Great if you're here solo and want to small talk. Also, they play oldies music from the 50's and 60's which makes it feel high class. I've only had their iced mocha but they use their own chocolate so it's delicious and I don't have to ask for extra mocha like I usually have to with other coffee shops. They have a sweet matcha which I'm excited to try next! They claim it doesn't taste like grass lol. The place is small and intimate. Great for a first time meet up with a potential mate or friend. The music isn't overpowering and there's never a lot of people in here when I'm here which is nice. Starbucks gets too over crowded and it's annoying waiting in long lines for mediocre coffee. Before this place I went to moka(which is also delicious) but it doesn't have a nice atmosphere inside like this place, but great for on the go. read more

This was my first day stepping foot in this store. I was excited to get some vegan gluten free treats, however I just felt so put off with the customer service aspect. There was a lady ahead of me inline and I was next. The lady helped me picked out some chocolate. Then some guy completely cut me off and she took his order, which was a big order. I had 2 things to pay for... she didn't even make eye contact with me. The polite man in the scarf that was amazing helped me, however I understand he couldn't take the cash and still had to wait for the other order to process. I had a short time frame I was accepting a in and out type of deal. I had to leave because I couldn't wait 20 minutes to buy 2 items. Maybe she was new working, time of day, or an important regular... either way I was so incredibly put off with the customer service experience. The shop was small, clean, and smelled amazing. Left empty handed. read more

Updating my review to a 5. I come her often for their lattes and also the chocolate. I think that their caramels are the best. The butter burboun is by far my favorite. Still a little pricey but worth is for 1 or 2 truffles every once in a while. My son also devoured a GF molasses cookie, so we got another togo. One thing though that makes this place a 5 star and beyond is not only their delicious coffee and chocolate but the service is outstanding. For Christmas I really wanted a dark chocolate Christmas tree for my son who has dairy allergies. They had them in stocked weeks before Christmas but I didn't want to buy it too early. They assured me they would have some closer to Christmas time. I called one evening and they said they would have some the next day. I went in and there were none to be found, an honest mistake but we all know the high stress the holidays can bring. I think I had been running around all day with a baby in tow and I think the staff could sense my frustration. The staff person then proceeded to call the owner and ask if/when they'd be making more. She said she'd have some made by the next day. I came in the next afternoon and the chocolate trees were ready, I was also able to thank and talk with the owner! I was so impressed with their overall customer service and will be coming back for that alone. read more

This place is not just another chocolate shop. It's different. And I love it. I remember screaming in the car with excitement as we drove past it when I saw a sign saying they sell Jeni's ice cream. My favorite ice cream in the world. So to be honest this was actually what got my foot in the door, ice cream rather than chocolate. But then...I saw the chocolate. They got some unique flavors. I tried some chocolates my favorite. the ghost pepper, which is not horribly spicy but a wonderful, interesting flavor trip for your mouth and mind. We also got some drinking chocolate which was just that...basically just drinking melted chocolate , thicker than hot cocoa, it was divine. Now they also have chocolate bars from all over the world that I've never see before. So cool! Even high end fine grocers don't even have the chocolates that I've seen here. Very unique, and I would think a great place to shop for a present for a chocolate lover. read more

This place is awesome. I love their wall of chocolate bars from other independent companies. It's a great way to discover what other chocolate makers are doing out there. We ordered their chocolate ganache and their spicy hot chocolate. The chocolate ganache is a thick European hot chocolate served with a side of cream. It differs from hot chocolate in that it's much thicker. It's made with single origin chocolate, and when we came, they were using a 55% Hawaiian chocolate. Hawaiian chocolate is light and fruity and so was this chocolate. My impression is that they switch up the single origin chocolate they use so I'm eager to come back and try more. The spicy hot chocolate had just a hint of spiciness for me (but I tend to have a palate that is very tolerable to spice, so others may find it spicier than I did). But it was delicious. This is how hot chocolate should be - heavy in chocolate, low on sugar. When I want hot chocolate, Madison Chocolate Company serves up the kind of hot chocolate I'm often hoping to get. Now I know where to go for my hot chocolate fixes. read more
