You are in dairy land of Wisconsin. Do yourself a favor and seek out the Chocolate Shoppe for ice cream! So many flavors. So much fun! You can not go wrong. I was in town visiting my college kid and we decided to get ourselves a treat. It was superb! Definitely want to go back when I visit again this year in September!!

Solid experience at this ice cream shop to end our trip to Wisconsin. The milkshakes were awesome. I got a custom one with a peanut butter cookie dough ice cream and a "zoreo" ice cream. They blended it up really well and was great to cool down to. When we arrived there was about 10 people in the store and within five minutes they had the place cleared out. It's pretty apparent this place is a popular local spot. Beside the confusion of the staff running around a bit and all greeting us and reiterating we were taken care of - all items on the orders were asked until the "cherry on top". I don't do well with maraschino cherries, and when it was auto-added I was a bit surprised. Luckily there was whipped cream and I took the spoon and chucked it out before it sank in.

It's great to have a Chocolate Shoppe location in Middleton... they've got all the great flavors... how do you get beyond the Chocolate Zanzibar :) Splurged this time around on a Sundae... with Chocolate Zanzibar! What I love about this shop is that they have a variety of packed pints in the grab and go freezer or they'll hand pack a pint for you in addition to cones dishes, sundaes etc... There are a couple of tables outside and this location is walkable from one of the conservancy trail.

Had to stop here while visiting WI because the dairy is out of this world!!! The ice cream was soooo creamy! I'm not usually a huge cherry ice cream fan, but it was so delicious with fresh local cherries!!! The staff were super nice & the shop was very clean. I will be back for more!!

    Plenty of delicious choices

All about bringing back memories, we went out of our way to go back to one of my daughter's favorite ice cream places while growing up. We frequented La Michoacana soon after it opened, loving the observation that it seemed to start out slow, but became a lot more busy as the word got out. It was the first Michaoacana that we frequented. Since then, we've visited others in SoCal, but there really is something about a first, especially if infused with nostalgia. I loved getting their goat's milk caramel ice cream, and as my daughter observed, we couldn't find this flavor anywhere else since we moved away. They still have it (though they call it toffee now). Prices have gone up (of course) and is actually comparable to the chain ice cream shops across town. As always, the workers are super friendly. Two scoops is $6.13 in a cup, and I got the mentioned toffee ice cream made with goat's milk. For me, it is still very good: very creamy with a very rich caramel flavor. My daughter said hers wasn't as good as she remembered, and she is pretty good about things like that so it must be different (which makes sense since they changed the name).

Top-notch ice cream and friendly service in downtown Madison!…read more I'm visiting Madison for work and am a sucker for good ice cream. Being from New England, I'm pretty picky with my ice cream shops, but this place absolutely hit the spot. They have a huge selection of great flavors, from the classics to new and inventive selections! All the employees are super friendly as well. I've been to the Chocolate Shoppe (which by the way, only sells ice cream, not chocolate) more times than I should admit during my visit to Madison, but I couldn't resist stopping in for some truly excellent ice cream! Favorite flavors: Coconut Almond Bliss, Fat Elvis, and Ultimate Oreo.

We have had Chocolate Shoppe ice cream before, but never at their actual location. The shoppe is on a bustling corner. It's awnings are outfitted with the brand colors. Pretty distinctive look. Inside is a long counter with many of the most popular flavors. There are table either inside or outside. Got greeted by one of the several servers that were helping the different customers. It was a tough choice but we ended up getting the "This $&@! Just Got Serious" and "Heaps of Love". We got them in cones (my was the chocolate dipped), but because it was warm out we had them place them in a dish - good idea! You can also get prepackaged pints from a cooler. Along with some ice cream cakes. Super yummy treat, served by friendly people, in a nice location.

We all got grilled cheese variations with apples, salad and soup as sides. The chicken bacon ranch grilled cheese was overall the best. Both of the salads had rotten leaves, so best to avoid that unless you're ok picking through for good leaves. Service 5/5: the food came quickly and the staff was very friendly. Ambiance 1/5: we were very disappointed overall since they hype themselves up as an experience that includes cows. There were no cows in sight. I know during the summertime they will have baby cows, but overall to me there should be more transparency around not actually seeing cows when you visit the creamery. Other than that there is a small parking lot that can get very busy at times, but plenty of places to sit. We did love the kids playground outside but all of the bikes were broken/didn't work and the bags put away for corn hole. Overall we were really disappointed at this trip. No cows and lunch was just ok. If you are looking for a spot just for ice cream, they have amazing options and plenty of room for the kids to play, just don't tell your kids there are cows because you likely won't see any.
