Stopped in to grab a chai latte to-go. The line moved quickly and my latte was made super quick. Not my favorite chai latte but they have great coffee. I loved their seating areas: outside, couch seating, and tables. A great place to meet someone or work. They even have a small childrens toy area near the couches. Great windows with tons of natural light. It's a bit cluttered and dated but great neighborhood coffee shop vibes. They have some awesome merch. I loved their travel coffee tumblers. Note that the parking lot is always busy, but I've always been able to find a spot. They also have additional street parking on Midvale. read more

My vanilla latte was rather sweet and the cold brew was somewhat watery, but the staff were so phenomenally nice! The inside was cozy and had ample seating for customers to stay and chat or do work-- although the coffee wasn't standout, I would go back for the convenience next to the Sequoya Public Library and the service/vibes :) read more

Chose to go here on a Saturday afternoon since it seemed to have the latest hours. Warning that they do have limited hours currently (not what's listed on Yelp) - closing at 5pm most days, presumably due to the staffing shortages hitting a lot of places. The matcha latte was reasonably priced and a solid drink, more on the milky side than matcha as far as flavor. I'll need to remember to bring my own cup next time! Decent coffee for a decent price. The coffee is solid but not spectacular but good for a mid day pick-me-up. Oat milk is $1 extra which is a bit of a bummer since it's a more sustainable option (and my preferred). There's ample seating inside and outside which makes for a pleasant meetup spot. read more

I really do love the coffee that EVP brews up. It's always a quality beverage and the service is great. This particular EVP location is a bit awkward. Driving in and finding parking can be difficult and hazardous due to tight corners and limited spaces. Once you've managed to park, you enter into a fairly stark space. There isn't much by way of fancy frills and decor. There's ample seating, and a small selection of wares to buy, but other than that it's a pretty bare bones kinda place. Nothing wrong with that per se, but depends on what you're looking for in a coffee shop. I will warn you that things can get busy. I stopped in around 8am on a Friday morning and managed to make a selection without waiting in line. Within 10 minutes of ordering there was a line almost out the door and more people on the way. This continued until at least 9am when I left. The line moves fairly fast - but these are quality drinks and the baristas take their time making them right. read more

The Sequoia EVP is my regular Sunday Coffee and Paper Haunt. Anthony works the Sunday afternoon shift - Noon til Close (5pm). Lattes are consistent. Nice little coffee shop off Midvale Blvd. I came here in the afternoon and the workers were quick to serve us and the coffee always tastes great. The inside is cozy, but is semi small, so if you are looking for some place to study there may or may not be a decent space. More so good for brief meetings and get togethers with friends for a cup of coffee. Nice decorations on the ceiling (large canoe) and around the walls. Large parking lot as well so you don't ever need to worry about parking. read more

Moving here from Seattle, one of my top priorities was to find good coffee. And this cute little acronym-of-a-coffee shop has what I need! Delicious coffee, extremely friendly baristas, and a great vibe. I'm writing this review from the new Sequoya Commons EVP on Midvale and Tokay. I just moved down the street, and I'm pretty stoked about my new neighbor! The windows are tall, allowing great natural light to fill the room. I love the artwork and acid-washed cement floors. This is the newest looking EVP cafe in town, and like their other locations, the coffee is superb and reliable. I wrote a full review of EVP's Washington St location, so I won't go into great detail, but take it from a coffee lover that there is always a great coffee to be had at EVP. Their African Yirgacheffe and Harrars are incredible, and I always feel lucky to come in on a day when they're brewing. 16oz of stellar coffee for $2! About me: I've roasted coffee at home for the last 7 years and own two professional espresso machines along with two pro grinders and a lot of other equipment, so it's rare that I find cafes that can pull off better coffee than what I make at home. Daytime coffeeshop with easy access to the public library. I find this EVP location to lack a a little....je ne sais quois? It somehow doesn't have a "neighborhood" feel. I wish the interior had a bit more personality. Overall, the baristas make consistent beverages and free wi-fi is available at all times. I love how they offer a small 6oz cup size for their coffee's. Sometimes you just don't want that much coffee and it's nice that EVP offers a smaller option. I also liked how they had several drip coffees available. The chai was good, but a bit watery and could have been a bit foamier. I also liked how they have simple syrup and metal spoons for stirring your coffee. Finally, the service was really friendly. I'd definitely come back here again for coffee. read more

I'm a fan of all of the EVP coffee locations. The staff is always friendly and they seem to really enjoy what they do. They know their regulars, and take good care of them. The stores are all a little quirky, and I like that. They have multiple coffee blends out at a self serve bar and the staff will describe them for you if you ask. Well, besides everything, how attentive the baristas are. This might be more a function of how often I go there, but I appreciate it when someone remembers my beverage of choice! The coffee was good, but when trying to order this morning, a Friday morning around 7:00 when I need to get to work, the girl at the front counter ignored me and spoke to another woman. I was trying to order my coffee, actually speaking to the girl at the counter, but she just kept speaking to her friend. Eventually the other barista behind her, stepped up, apologized and took care of me. I was very surprised that this happened. This isn't any way to treat a customer, and I have never experienced that before. read more

I virtually stopped going to Starbucks after discovering this local gem and repeatedly running into super-friendly owner, Tracy Danner. The coffee is amazing, the service is supreme, and the atmosphere is way more relaxed than a national chain. Try the bear claws which are literally to die for. Reasonable prices on whole expresso beans, too. I love this location because it's next door to other places I frequent and because it's a great gathering place for locals (thus always a hubbub of activity). But if you want a more relaxed venue with lots of locals who will invite you to join their daily coffee klatch, try the big table (or the couches) at EVP on the corner of Glenway & Mineral Point Rd. read more

I've visited nearly all of the coffee shops around the west side area and EVP has consistently the most flavorful, black coffee, AND the lowest price! You can't go wrong here. The coffee is excellent, the staff are always friendly, and the price is less than $2 for a medium sized coffee! read more
