Can I leave a zero star? I went there three months ago to change my oil. My experience was less than stellar as seen by my previous review. They said my front and rear brakes were bald. They quoted me $400 per axle. I have been driving around being paranoid but wondering why the brakes haven't been squealing. As I've stated, that was three months ago. I am now fixing it and it is not bald at all! The mechanic I'm with says it still has about 30% left. How was it bare three months before and has this percentage now? Stay far away from this shop. I went there today for an oil change because I had a coupon. According to the coupon, I was supposed to get the fluids filled and also the interior vacuumed. When I checked under the hood, my power steering fluid was extremely low and my car interior was not vacuumed. So I went back inside the office to ask the mechanic to fill the power steering fluid. He vacuumed the front of the car and he said that he can't vacuum the front because the hose won't reach and plus it was not a powerful vacuum since it had holes in the front part of the hose. I was going to tell him to turn the car around so he could vacuum the back, but obviously he was a lazy guy giving me excuses, and I had to go to class, so I left frustrated. This place is under rated sometimes, I think it depends on who works on your car. The first time I went here I almost turned around and left because a worker asked me if I wanted to get my fuel injectors cleaned.. Absolutely horrible service! I went in for a 17 point oil change. They advertise that they check multiple thinks including airliners, belts, many fluid levels ect. When my car was done the floor was not vacumed. They didn't check the air filters, tire pressure, or the belts. I went in to take to the manager and all he could say was he would talk to him staff. The gentleman who handled the front desk was extremely gracious and set-up the fix immediately. He called me within 20-30 minutes that my car was done. B/c it was a small item, he didn't even charge me. I came to this location in need of an oil change. I paid the $49.99 package that includes an oil change, refill on fluids, check tire pressure, and vacuum interior. I received a phone call 15 minutes after dropping off my car that there was a crack in my engine pipe and it could be fixed for $189. I politely declined due to not having the resources and the employee appeared angry. I returned 40 minutes later to pick up my vehicle. The employees parked my vehicle crooked near a curb by Wendy's which was odd because there was parking at Spee-Dee. The man that worked on my car was smoking a cigarette and did not acknowledge me or say goodbye. Once I got into my car, I noticed it was not vacuumed. I went straight home after Spee-Dee and while driving home my check tire pressure light came on. I went home and saw my two front tires on the passenger side were flat. They were not flat when I arrived at Spee-Dee and my receipt indicates the employees checked the tire pressure. I wonder if the employees caused me to have a flat by parking my car near the Wendy's curb or if it was done intentional due to not fixing the engine pipe they recommended. I am very disappointed. When I got my car back the check engine light came on the same day, so I brought it back. He the wanted to charge me to look at it. Then I went to a dealership. so even with the $10 check-in deal, the price still came out to $31 and some change, which i think is a little high for getting a deal. moving past that, though... props for the location. that alone makes me give them 3 stars. it's close to so many hangout businesses that it's easy to get groceries, lunch, coffee, etc. during the wait. there was a long line of oil changes before us, so we walked across the street to red lobster for some endless shrimp, and everything was done by the time we came back. also, the service. i'm a messy girl, and my car is practically my home. a quarter fell onto the track of my seat, which became lodged when the seat was moved back, making it impossible for for me to move my seat up, and thus, impossible for me to drive. one of the mechanic employees came out to figure out what happened, and after over 20 minutes of tinkering and figuring out what was wrong with the seat, the quarter was dislodged, and i was free to go. 20 minutes! that's at least another oil change, and near closing time on a busy sunday. thanks for all the help! they were already super nice, but now, two more stars! this will probably be the go-to place for oil changes from now on. read more

Needed a fast oil change since I had the kiddies with me. Customer service was great, although the "Speedee" service wasn't. Maybe it was because I went on a late Friday (pay day) afternoon, but I think we waited for at least 45 minutes? (Long enough for us to go get a bite to eat at Wendy's across the way.) I've been to other locations and it has definitely been faster than that. The waiting area is ehhh and I wouldn't dare use the bathroom in there. Quick oil change. They get what's needed to be done. As for their "17 Point Inspection".. Complete bullsh*t. They DO NOT do what is advertised as shown. They DONT top off fluids, they DONT set my tire pressure, they DONT clean my windshields OR my floorboards. I mean if you're gonna advertise that you do those things, THEN DO IT. If not then don't bother advertising that crap. Ontop of that, they used to do the coupon with any type of oil change and reduce the price of them. But not anymore. These people are LAZY. My mom brought her car in for a transmission service and they said the machine to drain the fluid is broken. So I told her to go to the other speedy on Monterey rd. She explained to them that the other shop's machine to drain the transmission fluid is broken. They said there is no machine needed it's just a drain plug. Gave them a oil filter. Spent $17 on that filter and I expected them to put it because that's what I ask. They though I wouldn't check. They took my filter like there were gonna put it on. But all they did was put in there generic ass filter when i check right after they did the oil change. They kept my filter and never gave it to me. This place is a scam. read more

I left my car for starter motor change for a couple of days and after I collected it , I found a pool of oil on the garage floor the next morning. My car had no oil leak prior to taking it to them. After I took it back to them - they told me that I must have driven over a bump or something - which I had not. I chose not to get it repaired by them and took it to nearby Skip's. It took them a few days to get the parts and fix the leak. When I went to collect the car from Skip's I asked them what could have caused the leak. They said and wrote on my $500 bill that the probable cause of damage was negligence while installing the starter, I took the diagnosis back to Spee Dee and ask them to refund the cost of reparing the leak which I believed was actually caused by them. They refused to do so. I had been their regular customer for 5 years. Spee Dee is not a member of the BBB which Skip's is. If anyone has to choose beteeen them, I would recommend Skip's over Spee Dees after this incident. read more

I went in today for an oil change. Afterwards the technician informed me that i needed a major tuneup. I mentioned to him that i had one 6 months ago. When leaving the facility my light was still on. I went inside and told them that my light was still on. The technician told me that he will not reset the light until i got a major tuneup. I felt that was wrong. These guys were great. I got my oil changed in less than half an hour on a weekday afternoon. I had a cup of fresh coffee in their lobby and caught up on my "People" magazine news. They checked my tire pressure, inspected the cars fluids and brakes, and cleaned my windows. The price was fair and they didn't try to sell me services I didn't need. I took my 3000gt here for a oil change and they informed me that i had a "gash" in my oil pan and almost no oil in it. they quoted me $490 for parts and labor. This is way to high. Although i knew it was to high then and there, i didnt shop around. It was my bad that i was in a rush to get it fixed. Nonetheless, after the job was already completed i called Reliant Auto Repair and they quoted me $270. Speedee oil on Capital Expressway is overpriced and dont care about their customers returning! i definitly will never be coming here again and i will make sure my friends and family stay away also. Im young and dumb and they took advantage of it. This was a learning experience so hopefully you can learn from this post and stay away from this place. Garbage experience! read more

Came to this place to get a quick oil change when I was in a time crunch. Promptly received by employee and signed up for a full synthetic oil change @ $80.00 (Expensive, but will pay the premium to get it done quickly - oil change took 10-15 minutes). When I mentioned that I never had paid so much for an oil change I was told I could write a good yelp review for $20 off or find a coupon online on my phone. I thought about the $20 so went on yelp to see what was up. Yikes, my stomach fell as I realized how bad their reviews are and I began to feel like this business is generally shady after many of the reviews complain of their shotty workmanship. So anyways, hopefully they put the correct oil in because they certainly scratched my paint "cleaning the windows" and did something to effect my clutch and shifter. Upon leaving this place my clutch made a loud popping noise and the shifting has become extremely notchy. The transmission was not like this before and I cannot figure out what they have done until I have it inspected by another shop. I've always had good work done at Wheel Works down the street and would recommend avoiding this place as their mechanics seem to be a liability. How's that for your good review? This place was pretty chill. I came in for an oil change. I even got a $10 off coupon for checking in on Yelp. They told me it would be an hour wait, (Because it was Saturday) however there was a Starbucks and a Wendy's right in the same parking lot, so I grabbed lunch and the time flew by. When my oil change was finished, they gave me a list of tuneups for my car that could be done, but they were not pushy about it in the slightest. They topped off my fluids free of charge, adjusted my tire pressure, and wiped down the inside of my car and my windows. (They even told me they would give me a complimentary brake check if I wanted to pull into the other side and wait another 20 minutes.) I declined, but it was a great offer IMO. Got here at 120 and it took a little while to be seen about an hour and a half wait. They told me the oil change itself would take about an hour plus more for the free tire rotation (whoop coupon) i didn't mind the wait, it seemed like they were busy. But speedee? Probably not. I heard one of the mechanics yelling about not doing my rotation because of time constraints but the sales lady yelled and told him to just do it. (I came to like her). The price was okay i suppose 40 bucks for a rotation and oil Change with inspection. But definitely don't come Here unless you have a book, hours to kill and patience lol. Speedee has redeemed itself! I was very pleasantly surprised when the owner sent me a message after my last review, explained the issue, and offered me a free oil change. Now that's great customer service right there! So when my car was due again for another oil change, I took my car back to Speedee, and the guy at the front who helped me was super nice and very understanding of the issue from last time, did not give me any hassle at all, and my car was serviced and done within 15 minutes, all free of charge. 3 stars for manager appreciating my business / -1 star for price / -1 star for staffs ehhh attitude I moved out to Hollister about 6 months ago and before that had always been a customer of Alum rock Auto Care. Unfortunately, my needs don't fit their business hours. I had to borrow my brothers car as mine is being repaired. The change oil light came on and I wanted to make sure I got it done. I looked online and saw that Speedee was open until 6pm. Perfect as its right by the 101 freeway entrance and I was able to leave work a little early to make sure I got there by 5:15. When I arrived I was told that they wouldn't have time to service the car. I was bummed but understood as I saw their garage was full. I got back in my car when the manager came back and said that they could actually take it. That was awesome. I felt like the business was appreciated. Thanks for that dude! Cons - totally out of the staffs control but I'm used to paying no more than $30 for an oil change without a coupon. An oil change on my Bros equinox was close to $65 but I found an online coupon that saved me $10. A little pricey I think. Cons- Like I said the manager was nice and I really appreciated that they took the car on, but my sentiment of good customer service stopped with him. I'm in customer relations and it doesn't matter if it's 8am or 5 minuets to closing, professionalism goes a long way...the rest of the staff really kind of fell short. read more
