I needed a new tire on a Sunday night, and was in and out in less than 20 minutes! Very convenient that they're open 24/7.

My wife took her car in for Transmission fluid change and other fluid changes. (Brake, steering…read moreetc) When she asked if they can do the transmission fluid change, the manager said, he had to look under the hood to see what type of transmission it has. After waiting for a couple of hours, the manager, Chris, said he couldn't do the transmission change because he didn't have the right tools. Why didn't he say that in the first place? When I went to confront him he knew what's coming and picked up his phone and started texting. I asked him if he's the manager and he said yes but kept playing with the phone. I could tell from his face he's trying to come up with an excuse so I let him figure it out and waited patiently. After (literally) 5 minutes, he spoke to me and said he didn't know what type of transmission it had. I asked him if he couldn't simply look it up online and he said it's not as easy as that. When I asked him once he found he couldn't do the transmission why he proceeded with other jobs, he didn't have the answer. It would have been much simpler for me to take the car to a place where they do everything rather than going to different places. The business practice and the customer service in this place leaves a lot to be desired. I wouldn't go back to this place again. These guys give honest mechanics a bad name.

This guys Christopher (black dude) wearing white shirt maybe he's the manager try to CON me. Told me I need rotors and it's warped. I went to inspect and it looked fine. Try to tell me I need 4 rotors but the pads were fine! I don't think that's possible. Really tried to scam me thinking I don't know nothing. When I went in, I asked how much to change pads on Honda CRV. Was told $150 for each axle. Not sure if that was really a good price but if only pads should be like $80 front and back each? Anyway, he wanted business just tryna scam me!! Don't go there. I think all these Mavis's do the same This place looks nice but it's a complete scam. They scam their own black people too cuz I hear this Christopher told his peep 4 rotors and pad cost him $500? Wtf?

When I arrived I waited 45 minutes to be told I need a new tire which would have to be ordered and that they weren't aware I needed a tire and thought I wanted them to "check" my tires. I Make another appointment and go in the next day wait another hour and they say the ordered the wrong tire. Have to go back a third time. Then they actually replaced the tire and the sensor light is still on making it a fourth trip back to Mavis for a tire. They were nice enough but just an incompetent experience for me.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE SCAMMERS -- WORST EXPERIENCE EVER (Pep Boys)…read moreI had one of the most stressful and dishonest service experiences of my life at Pep Boys, and I'm writing this so other people don't get trapped the way I did. I found Pep Boys online, but their website didn't allow me to add only TWO tries to my shopping cart for my 4WD vehicle. So I found the phone number listed on Google Maps for the nearest location. I called with only one purpose: to find out if they could replace only TWO tires on a 4WD vehicle. A person with an Indian accent answered and said yes, and then asked for my vehicle details and tire size. I gave everything clearly. He offered a good price and said he would email me the quote. The email didn't arrive right away, so he said he'd resend it. What I received was a duplicated email that contained ONLY the tire name and the cost of replacing two of them -- no vehicle info, no tire size, no details about who provided the quote. When I arrived for my appointment, I again confirmed that I was replacing TWO REAR TIRES ONLY. They took my keys and told me it would take about 1.5 hours. About an hour later, I walked near the bays and saw they had removed ALL FOUR WHEELS from my car. I asked why, and they said they had an order for replacing all four. Then the manager comes out and tells me I have two separate orders, each for two tires, and if I only want one order, I must pay a $30 restocking fee to cancel the second one. I disagreed and explained that this was a clear mistake by their person answering the phone. The manager refused to listen, he kept repeating that it was my fault because I placed two orders and therefore had to pay, and then he simply left. It gets worse: I looked at the tires they were trying to install and they were the WRONG SIZE. The manager admitted they didn't even have the correct size in stock -- and then tried to charge me a restocking fee for FOUR TIRES, now claiming it would be 20% (~$150). He blamed me for their own mistakes. When I asked them to find the person I spoke to or pull the call recording, he said he "can't help" and told me to complain to corporate. The only "help" offered was reducing the fee to about 10% (~$75). In the end, to get my keys back and leave, I was forced to pay $83. They STOLE my TIME, MONEY, and PEACE OF MIND. I later found out that the phone number listed on Google Maps is being forwarded overseas. This means you wo NOT be talking to the local shop at all, but to someone in India who has no idea what they're doing. Meanwhile, the store refuses to take any responsibility for what's happening. This is either gross incompetence or an intentional bait-and-fee setup. Either way: AVOID Pep Boys!!!
