Chewed coaxial cable that connected phone line to house
David F.

A TALE OF THREE TECHNICIANS: Internet worked well for one year then started getting spotty in October 2024. My wife called for service and was stood up twice (Monday, Wednesday, waiting 4 hours each time) before someone finally showed up to the scheduled appointment on Thanksgiving (Thursday). Tech checked outside cable and said it was fine but took out an old part inside the outside box on the house that he said was inhibitory. At the time he thought that was the only problem. Was still spotty afterwards, then did not work for 4 days straight. I called 1/1, was not able to get an appointment until 1/3. At that appointment, the tech checked the line outside and inside, said there was nothing wrong with either but that he thought something was wrong with the neighborhood infrastructure either east or west of my house's telephone pole and that an "outside team" would need to look at it. By that day the internet was back to spotty, so he said that he would place the order as routine (5-7 days later) since the internet was still somewhat usable. A week later, we called Spectrum and they said that the case had been closed out the next day, and as far as I could tell it didn't sound like an "outside team" had done anything. I scheduled a third appointment for Saturday morning (1/11) and met the tech. I asked if he had reviewed the previous case, and he said that he hadn't because he doesn't trust the work of a lot of the other technicians. To his credit, he was thorough, checking the house box with the signal strength device, then the telephone pole box, then inside the house, measuring signal strength at each location. When he went up on the ladder to the telephone pole, he noticed two spots on the coaxial cable where squirrels had bitten into, which is likely what caused the problems over the past 3 months, and he replaced the cable. Moral of the story: Don't trust Spectrum, check the entire length of the cable yourself for areas where squirrels may have bitten into, and make sure your tech checks all three spots with their device for signal strength.

Outrageous charges. Switched to faster Greenlight yesterday. The days of negotiating lower prices with Spectrum are over!

Slow af, pay for 1Gig, only getting 1/3 of that download and 1/200th of that upload. 1/200th. Autopay will be turned off until resolved.

Just got told by a person who answered the phone at Leader TV they don't do any T.V. Repairs…read moreanymore , on top of that He said No one in Rochester Repairs tv's anymore ... This is sad.

I am so disappointed with you…read more Please refund my deposit. Your website says: We know your time is very valuable so we have an online tv repair quote form that makes it simple to get your repair quote for free right now. And then from your email: $40 deposit that we do apply towards that repair. So why didn't I get my deposit back? Especially if the film, in conjunction with the backlight, was a KNOWN ISSUE. I dropped the TV off Tuesday, 11/14. Was told I'd get a call with an update. I CALLED on 11/20 and was told he'd check on it and give me a call right back. I HAD TO CALL AGAIN, on 11/27 (AFTER BLACK FRIDAY WHEN I WOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO GET A GOOD PRICE ON A TV IF I KNEW I NEEDED ONE!) to check on it as NOBODY called ME - and at that time you told me about the KNOWN ISSUE of the film THAT ALWAYS HAPPENS WITH THESE TYPE OF BACKLIGHT ISSUES - and it was recommended that it wouldn't be worth the repair as it would not result in a good picture on the tv. You offered to recycle the TV for me or I could come pick it up. I came to pick it up and was told I wouldn't get the deposit back...WHY NOT? It is a deposit, that as you state, goes toward the repair...I was advised against the repair - so refund my deposit. If, at any time, you had said - I don't know, maybe even when you sent the "free quote" - backlight issues are notorious (Like almost 100% of the time) for having a film that melts and prevents a quality repair - we can take a look at it for $40, OR there's a $40 fee, or it's really not a free quote as it will cost you $40 - that would be a different situation. But that's not what you said - you said, again in your email "$40 deposit that we do apply towards that repair". Since we paid in cash - please send a check for $40. If you need the address (I sent it in a email) just let me know.

Terrible experience!! On a 2 years HP PC wanted to switch from an HDD disk to a SSD to get more…read morespeed. Brought it to Moose's and my computer was butchered. I receive a message stating that perhaps during transportation my screen got damaged. I had used my all-in-one HP PC 10 minutes prior to bringing it to Moose's and it was fine. Since it was butchered asked for my money back and my butchered computer back as well. I asked the guy if he could copy my files from the hard drive, but he told me to buy a cable and copy them myself. So, I offered to pay $20 if he would copy them on to a Toshiba external drive. He accepted but also said he could not put the hard drive back in my PC. I got everything back and, to my greatest supply none of the files I needed were copied but just a bunch of stuff of no value to me. I called the guy up and he said he had seen the same stuff, but he never mentioned anything when I got everything back. Took my PC to a real repairing store and they explained me how the screen was improperly removed to get to the drive therefore causing the screen failure. Also, this real repair store was able to read the hard drive and told me that my files were in there. I had told the Moose's guy that thing happen and not to worry about. I was ok with that and had bought a new PC in between so that I could transfer the data from my old hard drive. Anyway, since I was given a bunch of lies, I feel compelled to write about what has happened. This is no manner to treat customers and furthermore if you don't know how to pry open a computer screen you shouldn't attempt to do it. Because of that between a new PC and the insurance I had to spend $1,100. Never again I'll have anything to do with this business and Yelp should not recommend it either.

It regularly STOPS, often in the evening as we are enjoying a movie or show on the TV. Suddenly a window pops up that says that CONNECTION IS LOST, the things freeze up. Generally it will reset itself after a couple of minutes ( a few times I have had to unplug and restart modem and router) I had a neighbor as if I would recommend the service, and, I am sad to admit it, but I did tell them to stick with their current provider. I get MANY items, in the mail, email and more about upgrading and adding additional hardware and such. We don't need, and while some of the upgrades would be nice, why would I upgrade when I am so unhappy. Yes it is a good price for fiber, but not for the service we have experience so far.

If ur a person who likes good quality services I recommend you go for Empire Access it's a lil costly but I promise they have no problem with fixing their problems, which if I must be honest they have no problems with their services. Empire access really stand on business, they don't lie nor steal from their customers , on the other hand, frontier and spectrum are outdated and are Internet services that are of the past which is why they are useless nowadays. So yeah if you guys are looking for legendary Internet services [ Empire Access] has what you need, they won't be dishonest they will be solid . For frontier , you guys are outdated y'all should file for bankruptcy now before empire access makes you dumpster shmucks file for bankruptcy. Anyone with high value 'Empire Access' is the go to.

They shipped my phone and with no delivery attempt or notice on my door shipped it back. They charged me 254.11 on 2/23. I then went to the webster branch store to set up my service there. After visiting the store 5 times upwards of 3hr of waiting each visit I still have issues. In the store they could not transfer my phone number over from Version or understand why. I told them over and over that it was because my version phone number was tied to the original phone that had been shipped back. Even I could figure that out. In person at the store! I was told to call spectrum myself to sort out the issue. I was also told they do not have the tools or resources in the store to dill with issues like this. Paying another 108.04 on 3/6 I leave with a phone. After I left the store and called spectrum myself with a new phone without my migrated phone number on it. As I thought my number was paired to the phone, they shipped back the spectrum the agent on the phone understood after I explained. I was also told by the person helping me in the store, since I had started the prosses before the promotion ended, I would still be able to get the 700 trade in allowance for one of my phones even know the promotion had ended. Ladder to find out from the store manager this was a lie. After my phone number was migrated, the spectrum agent told me she would have the number that came on the phone canceled and the financing transferred to my old version phone number. Yesterday I received an email stating I owe 1263.88 because the line was canceled. I again call spectrum I was told that there is a ticket in and there working on then told to go get a prepaid card from 7 11 with 5 dollars on it in case they do try to take the money out. This is crazy to me! After all this I lost all premotions or phone buyout options because the store is understaffed, not trained and doesn't have the capability's to properly take care of their mobile customers. Or cannot contact the correct people to take care of issues and require the customer to do so. I called spectrum to see if they would honor any premotions because of all these issues they refused and offered me 25 dollars. I still have not been refunded all my money and still see a bill for 1,151.62 and have not been contacted about any of this with in the time frame they gave me. I will be leaving spectrum all together now and returning to my old service they are offering the same phone for free and will be using another internet provider.

Service reliability is similar to Frontier fiber but the "whole home wifi" that costs an extra $10 per month is just a single wifi access point that doesn't cover my 1000 sq foot house. I signed up due to a good deal they were offering for the same advertised speeds. According to my bill, after the first year it will cost the same as Frontier did and after the second year it will cost almost 20% more.
