Wow, just wow! I have first used Dave Digital approximately 10 years ago when we set up a home theater system when we decided to purchase a new flat screen tv for our home. The staff at that time spent many hours with us to configure a system and to explain the products needed and the prices of each item. We had bought a Samsung Series 8+, Definitive Technology rear speakers, a DT center speaker, a Surfire subwoofer, and a Denon AVR Theatre Surround Receiver. We scheduled a instillation and the crew came over a few weeks later and installed everything to perfection. They set up the system took the specific readings for the speaker layout and set it up and trained us so it was a fun and exciting process. Fast forward 10 years and I decided to upgrade my front speakers that I had bought in 1989 and start shopping around for a new pair. I settled on the Bowers and Wilkins 704 S2. So now I got the bug to start playing vinyl again and went back to "Dave" to look for a turntable. Dave Lane personally helped me decide which turntable would be suitable for my system and showed me the Rega line. I did not want to break the bank for a turntable and after listening to the p2 I decided it would work just fine for my listening needs. I was advised that it would require a pre-amp, (not too expensive) to be able to use with my Denon AVR receiver. Dave went over how to install it, very simple, and set the tone arm to the correct weight and anti skate setting. So now I was not done I enjoyed the experience and service of Dave and had a good connection with him, (we are both the same age and business owners), that I did bite the bullet and purchased a new NAD AV Surround Amplifier to replace my original Denon which by the way still works beautifully. The New NAD is a magnificent product, although expensive upfront, it will bring years of listening pleasure and enjoyment to our family. It puts a smile on my face every time I see and use it. There were some issues with getting it set up but Dave personally came over after work and spent a fair amount of time helping to get it set up correctly. I can not say enough about Dave and his crew. His expertise and products are top notch and can manage to fit entry level components to state of the art under one roof. I highly recommend Dave's Digital. You will be treated right and they we listen to your needs and offer suggestions with sales and service and make sure you are totally satisfied. read more

Had them come out to quote ethernet install in my home. I received their quote. The following contract terms I found to be onerous I agree that the Seller retains title to the equipment and materials furnished until final payment has been made. If payment is not made as agreed, Seller can remove said equipment and materials at the Seller's expense. Any damage resulting from said removal shall not be the responsibility of the seller. This paragraph in the contact were not agreeable to me. Imagine a plumber or election coming back into your home and ripping out the pipe or electrical wires if there is a Job problem and payment is being with held until fixed. I don't trust this company. My take away is that the have too many unsatisfying customers that did not pay due to unsatisfactory work. My personal conjecture. read more

I stopped into the office at 3445 Winton Place, and had a conversation with an employee about my home theater needs with the understanding that I would be receiving a call back to schedule a home visit. After two weeks of not hearing anything, I reached out via the website, and was told I would get a call back to schedule something. I did not. After reaching out a third time, I received a call back; unfortunately, the person I was speaking with was somewhat rude and dismissive when I gave them the project information; they lectured me on the work required on the electrical installation (all things I was aware of, including the need to cut large holes in the ceiling). I let them know that I was no longer interested in working with them. Very disappointed in my experience with DAVE Digital Audio. read more

I called to get a price to hang a 58" tv and was told i would get charged 1 hour of labor at....$200!!! I called around and everyone else was charging $100-125 total tax included!! I did get job done for $117 total. Def wont be calling these guys read more

I call this "Ode to Stereo Shop" Oh poor factory cd receiver of mine, You broke with very little time; I wept in despair, I kicked thee with anger; Then with brilliance I said a prayer, I professed my sins with open candor; I confessed to the Almighty, Why hath cursed my wretched stereo deck? No more minutes than ninety, A subconscious voice told me to seek "Stereo Shop", And all my problems became a mere dust of speck. I then became oh so lively, For they hath the CD receiver well in stock! I detailed the dying sins of my factory receiver, To a man named Paul; He said "Sir, Our word is pure and our technician hands finest on the land"; For I then trusted this man of good moral and not a cheater, His name was Paul, I do recall; My prayers answers, certainly I was not damned; My car in appointment ready for Friday I stepped in their shop and their technicians skill I do think of highly. Your car audio be finished in 1 hour or less I was thoroughly impressed I napped in their finest sofa in the multimedia room Awoke from deep nap, no longer had I any gloom Price fair, reasonable, nothing was tragic For my audio blared again, like new spell casts of magic! In short, my cd receiver broke, after 90 minutes of of trying to figure of who was the best in town at reasonable prices to do installation, stereo shop came to my head. I talked to a guy named Paul he went through in detail about everything and price costs, and put me for the next reservation, and if one dropped he would put me in the next upcoming slot asap; I actually got into stereo shop really quickly. While I waited they told me I can relax at their media room where they have an awesome couch to watch tv/listen to music, I fell asleep because it was so comfy. I woke up from my nap, and was very impressed with the service, and they even went to my car to explain how my new cd receiver works and what buttons do what (talk about going the extra mile, instead of having to read the manual) Great service, definitely great service. And as what someone said here, their staff are definitely not pushy and make you feel comfortable. Sorry no photos, I fell asleep from that really relaxing sofa. read more

Not very good deals. Very knowledgeable personnel but, many stereos were over priced as well as with their installation services. This is only based on prices alone. I have not had any installation Sevices done on my vehicle or home. The employees however are excellent! They answered all my questions 100% and even further elaborated into topics I was unsure about. Overall, not happy with prices but customer service is top notch. read more

Great reps and installers, had remote starter/alarm installed a month back, installation look perfect and you wouldn't know they installed anything, better experience here compare to The Stereo Shop in Greece, stay away from them!!! Pretty decent prices but generally nothing special, I've never found the help that particularly knowledgeable or the variety of products that engaging. It's a slightly above average store that doesn't really stand out that much against the big giants like CC or BB. Still, they do have some nice things and certainly won't act as pushy as some salespeople at the big chains. read more

Our TV failed to start yesterday morning so I called the stereo shop to see if we could buy a TV and have it delivered the same day. Would you believe they were able to because of a cancellation, bring us the TV , set it up and remove the old TV. What more could you ask for? Great service. Nothing really special about the one remaining "Stereo Shop" in Rochester, New York. Their "Lifetime Guarantee" only applies if the piece you purchased is still available. If not....you get nothing!!! At best...a $5 or $10 'credit.' Things have certainly changed in Rochester. One's best bet is to shop online. Best Buy is soon to file for bankruptcy...so shop around,...and look for free shipping. Oh, BTW...the best of the three originial Stereo Shop's was on East Avenue...run by Bruce Morton. Long gone...and Bruce has gone to much more important things in his life. read more

I love the Stereo Shop, will not buy from anyother company, price competitve, and most important to me, just now, Dave Lane took the time on the telephone to walk me through and figure out what setting I was missing for my VCR/DVD recorder to have a picture on my screen, which I only had sound.
