WORST INTERNET PROVIDER I'VE EVER DEALT WITH I left Spectrum on October 8th, returned EVERY piece of equipment I had, and thought I was finally done with their terrible service. Fast forward to today--I check my account and find out they took $270 out WITHOUT my authorization, pushing my account into the negative. When I called, they had the nerve to tell me I "still have other equipment." Absolutely not. On October 8th, at the Spectrum store in Pinellas Park, FL, I explicitly told them I had nothing else. Not only did I live in my apartment for 3 years, but Spectrum techs came out multiple times and they themselves swapped equipment and took old boxes with them. Now suddenly they want to "investigate" -- but somehow they had ZERO hesitation taking my money instantly. Funny how the investigation only starts after they hit your bank account. And their answer? "We can't give it back." Spectrum is hands down the WORST provider in existence. Shaky service, constant outages, clueless customer support, and now apparently they just help themselves to people's bank accounts. Do yourself a favor: RUN from this company. this was a difficult review for me to write because it is negative. I signed on with spectrum 2 years ago for the "magnificent deal" and "great service". After the magnificent deal wore off, the rates increased...which is what I was expecting. But then they increased every couple of months...with no system or connection improvements. I will tell you that they are average at best. My internet speeds were below what I was paying for. In a positive note, Spectrum notifies you when they will be working on the lines, which is nice, but is also an expectation of mine for average service. They also choose later evenings to work on their lines, when the majority of people are asleep. But to try to contact them is a horrendous experience. I tried for the past several months to get a straight answer as to why my bill kept increasing. Over and over I was told that's just the way it is...that's what things cost nowadays. Spectrum charges me twice of what they charged me a year ago. So the last time I called, I went through the cancelation series of their automated phone line. No help yet again. So I interviewed other internet service providers and selected a different company. Today I called Spectrum to cancel my service. I was connected with a super pushy sales-type person who told me she was waiting for my account to come up to disconnect service. While doing so, she asked personal questions and also questions about who I had chosen. Instead of answering, I just kept asking her to please disconnect my service. I informed her several times that if Spectrum had been willing to work with me months ago, I would've stayed. Intimidation might work with some people, but it makes me want to stay away from it. This is horrible customer service. If you came stay away from the spectrum help center and their "customer service", the company is OK. In order to disconnect, I have to pay an additional month of service. But if you need assistance or help or service of any kind, you will be extremely disappointed. The only reason I am being generous with offering a one-star is because of the averageness of the internet connection. read more

My equipment was not at my apartment the day of my move in - despite ordering it 3 weeks prior. I spent over an hour of my move in day going to get the equipment and waiting in line for her mistake - as she advised me to do. Now, I have been sent multiple boxes in the mail and they keep getting sent to me after I send them back. I have called, texted, and emailed Destiny with no response. After I signed up under her, she went completely MIA. I visited this store and was greeted with a hostile demeanor by a representative with glasses, and was advised to wait for a turn since I didn't have an appointment. I waited for nearly an hour before calling it quits. Not sure about others, but when you work 60-70 hour weeks, you don't have time to wait around to take care of someone else's mistakes. There is no number to call for customer service. I have been completely stuck. I highly do not recommended spectrum and am looking to switch to AT&T. You will never be able to reach out to anyone, Wi-Fi will be spotty, they will attempt to send & charge you for random boxes, your equipment will not be there on your move in date, and your rep will ghost you. read more

I walked into the Riverview Spectrum store to upgrade my iPhone and was assisted immediately by Corey. I walked out less than an hour later with a new iPhone 15 with all of my data transferred. Corey was so kind and accommodating. I'm older and not at all tech savvy and Corey was very patient when I couldn't remember my password. He went back into my old phone and found where I had stored it. I can't say enough about the wonderful treatment I received from this young man, as well as the gentleman at the desk next to his, who also showed me how to find things on my new phone. We came in for an appointment and wasn't serviced until 45 mins after our appointment. 5 desks on 2 workers is unacceptable & just not smart for customer satisfaction. I originally went to the Spectrum on Faulkner Rd, Tampa and the Security Guard said equipment from Spectrum was accepted at 12970 S. US Hwy 301, so I decided to walk there it was only 5 miles. When I got there I had to register and wait for my name to be called. I was number 5 and had been there about 30 minutes. I stood up explained my dilemma and asked for help. I told the clerk I had walked 5 miles to his store, I was thirsty and tired of waiting. He told me their was a water faucet behind the door and I was going to have to wait.... The reason I am throwing Spectrum under the bus is because A. The guard should have told me equipment was accepted at UPS. B. For me to go behind some closed door to get water after walking 5 miles to get to hour facility was unsatisfactory. I will never ever endorse Spectrum to anyone. This company only cares about them selves. I tried to cancel this service and was told it was. I then had to keep calling back for a month because they were trying to bill me for another month. They finally closed my account. I wrote a letter to corporate to complain that I had to do their job to try and get my account closed. She called me back and had the nerve to say that there was nothing she could do but then asked if I wanted her phone number in case I wanted to go back. Are you kidding me? I had to keep calling to get them to do their job, they wanted to raise my bill just because I initially only wanted to remove my phone line. You know how they say there is no long term contract? That might be technically true, but the reality is that they make it so difficult to disconnect service that you'll give up in frustration and pay their exorbitant fees. In Florida you can get T-Mobile 5g home internet, at speeds much faster than Spectrum offers and at a price that is 30% less! I'm on my fifth day of trying to cancel Spectrum. They won't let you cancel online - you have to call them. That's so the trolls in their call center can try to wear you down so you'll get so frustrated that you'll pay the extra $15 each month and put up with slower speeds just so that you don't have to waste any more time dealing with them. Every time I try it's the same story - after verifying my identity, they start their script - badgering, interrogating, and absolutely refusing to listen to anything I say. During my last two attempts, they began shouting over me when I said that I just wanted to disconnect service -- then they put me on hold and I had to hang up after 15 minutes. I receive these calls 2 to 3 times a week from different spoofed numbers and find this a VERY disreputable form of marketing. I paid via direct bank transfer November 8th. Per the bank, Spectrum accepted the payment to my Spectrum account number. Yet today I received a call I was 2 weeks late and I would be disconnected. I explained I had proof from the bank they accepted payment from the bank. I was told if I didn't go and pay today at a Spectrum office I would disconnected I went to the Riverview Residential Spectrum office on 301 in Riverview next to Sprouts. Amanda (per the name tag) was the Manager. First she yelled get that dog away from me. The dog is a 9 pound hypoallergenic Service Dog who was sitting at my feet. I explained that was a Registered Service Dog. Her response "I don't care, get it away from me". The dog was still sitting at my feet at least 4 feet away from her. We had approached her as there was no seating and I could feel my partially paralyzed leg getting weaker and knew from experience, that it would give out completely and I would fall. She begrudgingly provided a chair. When my name was called I handed the Spectrum Agent proof of payment. He brought Amanda over. Amanda said she 'didn't have anything to do with the proof of payment, but I had better pay 'again' or get disconnected' Another worker gave me another phone number to call. The bank read off my Spectrum account number, it is my account number at Spectrum. Amanda didn't care and wasn't going to help me figure out why the $ wasn't credited to my account. Amanda spent the entire time I was there sitting a chair telling people about her Thanksgiving , until I asked for a chair, after the above exchange she reclaimed her seat until brought over by Agent to address my Bank Proof of payment. Amanda refused to to look at the bank supplied proof of payment. This women is the Manager???? I saw 2 agents shaking their head. She needs to be fired!!!! I "fired" Spectrum on 5-5-2023 and returned all their equipment that day via UPS & got a receipt from them bearing Spectrum's name (not UPS), with a tracking number. The equipment was delivered to Spectrum's dock on May 6, 2023. a few days after receiving the equipment, they billed me for said unreturned equipment AND for the balance of the month of May, even though it was impossible to use their services as of May 5. They have since sent my account to collection (for less than $200) to multiple collection agencies. Charter Communications and Spectrum continually advertise that their customers do not have to sign a contract to receive their services. Rather they argue that, since you pay their bill every month, that somehow gives them the right to extort $ from you if you cancel after the month starts. I cancelled them THE DAY I GOT THEIR INCREASED BILL. I will be visiting the US Post Office to file mail fraud and extortion charges against them next week. I am also blocking the phone numbers for all the collection agencies they use - It seems that they have an endless supply. My rating - Negative 100 stars. Didn't know they do reservations - don't come here without one, as you'll be waiting forever to be helped and all reservation clients will be helped before you.
