Horrible service, they never pick up the phone, never calling you back.charging extra for summer chemicals. And that's how my pool looks like with their weekly service.

This company is so great! Family owned and they make me feel like family also. Been using them for years and I will always recommend them to my friends and family. If in doubt, scroll down and click on "other reviews not currently recommended".

New Hayward Cartridge Filter expertly installed by Spectrum Pool Care.

This would fall under the category of- EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE IS BREAKING AGAIN! I'm so glad I found a pool repair company like Spectrum. The company I've been using all these years is located all the way in Thousand Oaks and can't be bothered to return my calls anymore. Even though we spent 20k with them about a decade ago renovating our pool. Nice. My experience with the folks at Spectrum has been positive down the line. They returned my calls quickly, quoted me a fair price, and completed the work as scheduled. We had an old Hayward sand filter that was leaking and failing. Spectrum came out and replaced it with a brand new Hayward cartridge filter (way better than sand filter technology). Their price was more than fair for the filter and installation. I know, I checked the price on Amazon for the same filter. Installing it myself was not an option. I have always been a firm believer that somethings should be left to the professionals. This would include major plumbing, air conditioning and auto repair, major appliance installation, high voltage, and other really complex shit I have no idea how to fix or install. Our tech was Chris. His work was top notch. They are my new go to when pool troubles arise. Highly recommended!

    Black Algae

I have used this company for several years in hopes that they would get better, since we had such a "complicated" pool. Rarely could we just turn our heater on and enjoy the pool. There was always new things wrong, which they couldn't fix right away. The man that came to clean the pool would not wear his mask and would taunt my dogs until I got them into the house. A Bichon and Maltipoo. he also brings his girlfriend with him, who is of no help. Today the 8 month old Malitpoo was in the yard and decided he was not safe coming to the house any longer. Thankfully were forced to get a new pool company. The new company I am hiring came out to see the pool. He asked when it has been serviced last and I told him today! He pointed out all the Algae and then did a water test which showed all the chemicals he had tried to use (4) which only caused my daughter severe itching. He also showed me where there was a leak, which no one pointed out and some chlorine number was up to 100 which he said it should be about 82. Do yourself a favor... don't use this company.

I always recommend getting multiple quotes in any aspect of doing good business -- you get be best prices and knowledge about the industry. So anyways... I called 3 people for quotes to repair the valves for my pool. The heat was only going to the pool instead of the jacuzzi. We had to add a couple valve actuators to change the flow of water and a pump. 1. The first company quoted me $1500 - and I denied them. 2. The second company came by and actually broke my pump and and burned out my pools electrical panel so I just told the guy not to come back... what's worse is that he denied it and didn't take responsibility plus he was an ass hole. 3. The third company, Spectrum Pool, is who I chose to do business with. First we had to fix what the other guy burned out. Turns out it was a few fuses that needed to be replaced. I spent a week fixing this with the company listed here as "Spectrum Pool" .... thank god Miguel knew what he is doing. This guy is very good and knows all his stuff. He is very honest and straight to the point - no Bull shit. And then we moved on to the actual repair for the jacuzzi and he charged me a total of $800 with labor and parts. Still lots of money but definitely worth it because of past experience. I recommend these guys and Miguel especially. He's a great man! Thank you guys for the awesome work-- now my pool and jacuzzi works great just in time for summer time.

Not only did they give us a fair price on a Vita Spas Envie but they also financed it for us at 0% interest. We've now had this tub now for many years and have made so many memories with our friends in the backyard and gained relief for our sore muscles since our purchase in 2022! Thank you! Highly recommend Custom Spas Direct in Upland! Check them out!

During my research process, I read numerous online postings advising that a nearby, trustworthy…read moredealer is the most important aspect when buying a hot tub. Although I was about to purchase a hot tub from a large, well known dealer in Corona, I decided to look at Custom Spas Direct, which has good online reviews and happens to be very close to our house. I'm glad I did. I was not familiar with the Vita spa brand that Custom Spas Direct sells. There's very little information available online. After doing some digging, I determined that Vita is a decent, mid-range spa with competitive pricing. Nothing fancy, but it's built with good components from companies like Balboa Water Group. Dealing with Custom Spas Direct has been fantastic. It's a small company and we interacted directly with Jim Galpin, the owner. Jim is a straightforward guy and he was very helpful in choosing a spa. Since I was unfamiliar with Vita, I had a lot of questions and he patiently answered all of them. He quickly responded whenever I sent him a text with a question or request. After the purchase, he was super flexible with regard to delivery, setup timing, coordinating with the electrician's schedule, etc. The delivery and setup was quick and well done. The installer did a good job answering all of my questions. We've had the spa six months and have had a couple of minor issues. One was probably due to user error on my part and the other was not. In both cases, Jim responded to my texts immediately and quickly resolved my issue, even during a holiday week. I'm so glad I purchased from a local dealer that provides such fantastic service after the sale. I'm sure a larger dealer would not have given us the same treatment. Thanks Jim! Five stars!

We are deeply disappointed with Bernard and Avanti Pools. A light fixture was installed incorrectly…read morein our pool and was rusting like crazy. He attempted to fix it but did a terrible job. There is now a ghastly looking visible patchwork looking circle around the light fixture. He didn't even bother to replace the cover with the white covering, it's just a dark metal cover. We asked if he could repair it to look like new, but he said nope too bad. That's the best he could do. It's appalling spending all this money on a pool and for them to leave you with a giant blemish and a flippant attitude about it. I do NOT recommend hiring this company. We are so disappointed.

I always judge a company not how they treat you when they're trying to get your money, but how they…read moretreat you after they've been paid. If I'm being honest I've actually been more impressed with Avanti and Bernard more when it comes to the latter which is what I'm basing this review on. If I were reviewing on the process of building/permitting it would be a different score for sure. So again this is based on the final product and support afterwords. IMO Bernard is an old school pool builder, he knows what needs to be done, how to do it, and doesn't overcomplicate things. He stays calm and works on solutions instead of trying to find a way to blame others. There are some drawback to that in that he does a lot verbally and just gets it done, but sometimes that leads to miscommunications. This happened a few times during the building process, each time I was like oh no here we go it's going to be a fight. But each time he impressed me and just solved it quickly and efficiently. I've waited a couple of years since my pool was built to review because I knew we'd inevitably run into problems. Everyone talks about their great warranty until you have a problem. Then they usually start with the cost of the call or why this is your fault or why that particular component isn't covered, diagnosis fees etc. That has absolutely not been the case with Bernard. I've had weird electronic issues that he's walked me through resetting, I've had a light go out a year and a half after completion, ordered within 10 minutes of me texting him and installed within a week. Just recently I'm having water flow sensor issues which I was almost sure wouldn't be covered, instead of what I was sure was going to be bad news he again texted me back within 10 minutes, asked a couple basic questions, and said yes it's covered I know what it is and ordered the part. To me this is a 10/10 builder. The finished product is beautiful and has really impressed me over the past couple of years. He really made my vision come to life and convinced me we could do it even though I was doubtful with the tiny space we have. He completely transformed my backyard from a place we spent almost no time to an oasis we absolutely love. I received about 7 quotes before we decided to go with Bernard. His pricing was super competitive and I believe a lot of that was due to the fact I was speaking to an owner instead of a middleman salesman. Over two years later and I'm 100% sure I made the correct decision.

We just finished a complete renovation of our pool with Oscar's Pool Service, and I can honestly…read moresay it was one of the best decisions we've made as homeowners. When we bought our house three years ago, we knew the pool needed to be redone. Unfortunately, because of other major repairs, we had to wait. Our house was a flip, and whoever patched up the pool before us did a quick, cosmetic job that started falling apart within months. The plaster came off in sheets, the 1960s tile was covered in decades of calcium buildup, the coping was old red brick with mortar literally crumbling out, and some jets and plumbing didn't even work. The pool was technically swimmable, but it was depressing to look at. This summer our weekly pool cleaner told us the plaster was about to fail completely, so we started calling around for estimates. Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number. A trusted friend recommended Oscar's, so we checked Yelp, saw all the great reviews, and gave him a call. Oscar came out immediately, took careful measurements, walked us through every detail, and his knowledge and professionalism instantly won our trust. From there, the process moved quickly. Within a week of signing, his crew demoed the entire pool in just a few hours. We got to choose tile from several suppliers and ended up with a beautiful pebble mosaic that matched our house. At first, we thought we'd keep the old red brick coping, but at the last minute we switched to a modern dark gray brick. Best decision ever! It completely transformed the look of our backyard. As often happens with older homes, surprises came up: our original 1964 gas and electrical lines were corroded and had to be replaced. Oscar handled everything--brought in trusted contractors, coordinated the work, and saved us the headache of dealing with multiple companies. While we were at it, we upgraded our equipment to a top-of-the-line Jandy system with Wi-Fi controls, plus added a heater and automatic pool filler. Yes, the budget went up, but every upgrade was worth it. Watching the transformation was amazing. Once the new tile, coping, and plaster went in, it felt like we had a brand-new pool built from scratch. The white plaster makes the water sparkle, the equipment runs quietly and efficiently, and with the heater and lights, we can swim comfortably day or night, year-round. Beyond the work itself, what made the experience so special was Oscar and his family. He's personable, honest, hardworking, and clearly cares about his craft. His crew was professional, respectful, and fast. By the end, it felt like we weren't just hiring a contractor--we were working with people who truly cared about making our home better. Now every time we step into our backyard, we can't believe the difference. What was once an eyesore is now the centerpiece of our home, and we're enjoying it constantly. If you need pool renovation, plaster, tile, coping, or even just reliable weekly service in the San Fernando Valley--call Oscar's. He's the best! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DKKSP_c4UY
