We had a very disappointing experience with Brothers Pool Service before service even began. At the initial meeting, everything sounded great. George was very friendly and thorough, and we agreed to a flat monthly rate of $260 that included all chemicals, salt, and maintenance. However, things quickly changed after the agreement was in place. Right before the first scheduled service, he asked me to go out and purchase 12 bags of salt myself, which made no sense given that supplying materials was part of what we agreed he would handle. When I pushed back, he instead sent a $300 invoice for the salt with no details--no brand, no weight per bag, nothing to verify what was being purchased. When I asked for basic transparency, he became defensive and repeatedly interrupted me. He also tried to justify not providing any details by saying he's a "licensed contractor" and doesn't need to share that information, which frankly made no sense. Being a contractor doesn't eliminate the need for clear communication and itemization, especially when you're asking a customer to pay for materials. We ultimately decided to part ways before service even started. If this is how issues are handled upfront, it didn't give us confidence in how things would be handled long-term. I would recommend getting very clear, detailed expectations in writing before moving forward. read more

What a HUGE DIFFERENCE in service Brothers Pool Service provides. We have Hayward equipment that is less than 3 years old - we have had many little problems... and it has become really difficult to get a response from Hayward. Anyway, our current service provider is super nice but not great at returning phone calls or requests for service. We have been trying for almost 2 months to resolve not being able to connect the control panel to the app, and not getting the heater on. I have texted and called so many pool service providers and can't believe how difficult it is to get a technician to come repair the equipment. Its mind blowing. Added to that the fact that the first three "Hayward Authorized" technicians on their website do not return phone calls or text messages. Long and short of it is George came out, super enthusiastic, VERY knowledgeable and a wonderful communicator. He clearly explained what the issue was and fixed it in less than 10 minutes. He had the app connecting to the control panel and the heater was coming on. It was SO simple for him to determine the issues because he is incredibly knowledgeable. Also, he gave me a great education on the system and I understand it better as well. I was so impressed I see no need to continue service with our current provider as it is nowhere near the level of customer service BPS has provided us already. Monthly service rates are super competitive. It is great that we can get weekly maintenance AND repair from the same company. They have it all and are clearly experts in the field. Brothers Pool Service provides pool service for a home that we rent out. We had a few other companies before them, but none had the expertise that they have. They have maintained the pool beautifully. In addition, they just completed a replacement of the skimmer which was causing a leak. We were referred to Brother's Pool by a close family friend. George came over to see a couple of cracks we have in the pool. After spending some time going over the details with my wife, my wife called me at work to see if I had any more questions. The first thing George said to me on the phone: "I am not sure what else you have to ask, I just spent a half hour with your wife." Long story short, we still have not gotten a proposal from Brother's Pool (We did get proposals from two other companies). Even after George insisted for us to get a leak report, which we did. Professional, efficient, responsive, with excellent work product. I initially hired Jorge to do a complete upgrade for my pool (plaster, coping, and tile). This was a big job because we have an oversized pool. Jorge came to meet with me and my wife at least three times before he started the job, spending an hour or more each time, explaining the different phases of the job and helping with tile and coping selection. Once the work started he as his team kept to his preplanned schedule without any hitches. No problems or delays. The end result was beautiful. A year later some of the old pool equipment we had needed replacement. Jorge provided a competitive bid and helped us get all applicable rebates from the manufacturer and DWP (which he told us about). In short, Jorge is our go-to person for anything pool related. Update: I just wanted to give this company another shut out. Over the past year we've had several issues arise in our backyard that effected the pool. The problems were unrelated to the work Jorge and his team performed. Nevertheless, Jorge has been incredibly responsive and helpful for anything pool-related. Jorge and his crew recently installed our new pump and new heater - which also meant they had to run a gas line through our cement patio. They did a FANTASTIC job! They suggested a decorative way they could use some existing bricks we had to cover the new trench while making it look like this was just a design choice in the patio. I'm not explaining that well but my point is that they went above and beyond to do high quality work and kept aesthetics in mind. They also made the permitting and city rebate processes as painless as possible. They really took pride in their work and they were very nice people to work with on top of it all! read more

I would never recommend the services of Brothers Pool Services. I had two homes I retained them to prepare an estimate to repair pool equipment at both homes. Prior to coming to either home they informed my they charge a $150 service charge to come to the home; however, if I have any work performed by them to repair the equipment that they would apply $150 service charge toward the repair cost. Well after visting both homes and looking at the equipment, Brothers Pool Service submitted to me two estimates for items they "wanted" to do not only what really needed to be fixed. needless to say each estimate i received was nearly $1,000 and they would only honor applying the $150 service charge if I had ALL of the items on their list done. I didnt need all of the items they suggested. They would not honor the $150 service charge for either home because i only wanted one item on each list fixed. of course I was not about to spend nearly $2,000 for both homes to have the $300 service charge applied. Instead I retained Spectrum Pools and they repaired both pools for a minimum amout. Brothers Pool Services lied to me and did not honor the service charge like they said they would. They neglected to inform me that I would have to have ALL of the work they wanted to do which was some items which were not necessary for me to have fixed. I would highly recommend Spectrum Pool Services. A more honest company. I wasted $300 in service charges having Brothers Pool Services just come to my home(s). read more

Jorge's bid for our pool remodel was high, but I wanted it done right. Initially I just wanted some cracks repaired, but he showed me that the beam was not built properly and that the pool needed a complete remodel. I agreed and paid a large price for what looked like a perfect job. The overall work seemed wonderful. His workers were efficient and seemed like experts. He did change a couple dates of work and showed up unannounced during the remodel as he was rushing to complete the job before the holidays that year. I wasn't pleased, but got over it, because the quality of the work seemed great. Unfortunately, we just found out that there is a massive leak behind the pool light that was completely overlooked at the time of the remodel. It's caused extensive damage to electrical and the concrete deck from underground. When Jorge came out to look at it, he was aggressive, defensive and belligerent. My female partner was scared to be alone with him. My contractors (builder and electrician) were there for another job at the time and witnessed Jorge's behavior. We wrote Jorge three letters in an effort to split the cost of the repair, (we would cover the electrical and cement work if he would repair the leak that they overlooked) since it truly seemed like a mistake. We tried to be fair and reasonable, but he never responded. Instead he sent a high bid to replace the pool light and upgrade the plumbing without even having the decency to apologize or discuss it further. Young children swim in the pool often and our contractors said that this issue could have potentially caused a fatal electrocution. I truly believed he was an honorable man, but was sorely disappointed. I can never recommend this company to anyone. read more

Unfortunately I'm not able to leave a positive review for Brothers Pool Services. We had our pool remodeled by them in December of 2015 and thought that they'd done a perfect, flawless job. The pool itself is beautiful. Shortly after the completion we began to experience water loss and honestly thought it was due to natural dissipation because of the valley heat. Not the case. The pool light was leaking and we happened to stumble on it a couple of months ago by digging to see what was causing our outdoor electrical to short circuit. Well, it was the pool light. Jorge, the owner, told us that we didn't need to replace the light (we asked!) and because he'd said no, we trusted that. The damage caused by the consistent leak (they left the pool light hanging by the wires while remodeling the pool) and faulty pipes that were installed by original owners (another oversight that Jorge didn't tell us about but had the knowledge) is now costing us over 4K in damages. Jorge refused to take responsibility and served us with a severe attitude and an estimate without an apology, discount or ownership of any kind. It's truly unfortunate. I don't recommend this company and suggest that you take your business elsewhere. read more

I hired Brother's pool service to replaster my ugly pool and was extemely satisfied with the service. Everything I expected was completed to my complete satisfaction. The first day the pool was drained. The second day they chipped out the old plaster and bead blasted all the hard water deposits from the tile. The third day they showed up with at 5 (I think) workers and did the plastering and installed the two hand rails I requested after making sure the position was right for me. All the trash was hauled away and the area cleaned up. They also left me with complete instructions on starting up the pool again. They offered to do the startup, but that is something I could handle, but it was a lot of work doing the brushing, checking chemicals etc. I dealt with Jorge who was always polite, helpful and professional. I had questions afterwards and he returned my call promptly. The price was competitive and fair. I highly recommend Brother'd Pool service if you need you pool replastered. read more
